The episode wasn't based on lowriders it was just based on the custom car scene in Detroit he had other different cars on this episode other than lowriders.

hydraulics were evented because the pigs. there's a law that ur bumper has to be 10 inches off the ground. they used hydraulics as a quick way to lift it

You lost me at 1:22.. you're so far from the actual truth. But I'll give you a piece of it. The lowriders started in Los Angels CA by the Hispanic/ Chicano community. Modding their cars to be different than the rest. But police did not like it. So a law was made to prohibit vehicles being so low to the ground. The lowriders found a way around it. And added the air suspension. Now they were able to cruise low and hit the switches to go high when cops were near.

This was a really good documentary. Impala 64 made famous by west coast hip hop and boyz in the hood film.

not tru get your facts homie the boys in the hood car was a 63 impala owned by a Chicano and lowriders were famous before west coast hip hop Chicanos been lowriding all over the southwest since the 30s look up the 1964 gypsy rose now thats history

traditionalchicano So? The owners of the Lowriders in this video are black and white and from a Hawaiian club lol and Lowriders weren't POPULAR in the WORLD until West Coast rap introduced them. On the west coast they've been hot though, true.

I was low riding in Southern California in the 70s, hydraulics were all the rage. We used to weld a small section of train track to the bottom of the front axle and then drive to about 60 mph and drop the front end and light up the night! It was called scraping. Yes it was dangerous but awesome. Miss those days.

Hispanics did it because it was a law that you couldn't have your car too low so they raised it up when needed and yes they did use aircraft parts to do it
