This is one of fundamental aspects of Christian ministry. It's getting people to understand they matter. It's not getting people just to believe in God. It's getting people to see how much God believes in them.

You could even take the "death doesn't matter" phrase literally. It doesn't have "matter" or substance.

And why do we persist in holding onto the condemnation interps of the parables? Is it really Christ who turns away the late comers, the outsiders, the duty obsessed? Its a householder or master of a house, but not necessarily Christ Himself. There are many clues in this parable which suggest it is not Christ behind the closed door. If Christ IS the door and He is open to ALL and seeks out the lost and knows everyone by the very hair on their heads, then we are ALL known in the midst of our false self and it is not about finding our true self prior to Christ then coming to know us. The master of this earthly house is the Accuser who does not know us and has closed the door to his hell and admits inhabitants through death and duty. This is an important distinction. It is evil that condemns to utter darkness and nothingness. It is evil which cannot identify the realness in Gods creation. It is evil that is destroyed by its own exclusivity. It is evil that closes us off from hope and forgiveness. It is not Christ who says I do not know you or Christ is not God and His infinite wisdom suddenly admits limit and subjection to OUR "free" will.

You missed the second half of the story where Jesus describes a group hard at work doing what matters- serving others.

"Death doesn't matter.. only does because we 'empower' it" ?? This is a strange philosophy. The bible says the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. It hasn't been destroyed yet and so until then it's an enemy, so how can an enemy not matter?? The enemy is REAL, until God destroys it.

The truth is that death is already destroyed. When the truth is trumpeted clear and aloud, it will become our experience.
