I sure hope you get to feeling better. I worry that your immune system was compromised by the "vaccine"...I would definitely look into checking whether or not you're having some microscopic blood clotting issues especially with the blood vessel thing. Take care of yourself Monica!

I'm watching your video on a Dell laptop! I've been watching your various channels for years and your MLC channel was what made you so relatable, and therefore, a must-watch. I've watched you evolve as a content creator and as a professional. I'm an author with dozens of published books. I've made some book trailers from pre-fab video templates and they do not get the views--they have a dated feel and they lack content engagement because they are just ads for my books. Your video today made me realize exactly how I want to re-invent my KZfaq channel to stimulate some engagement. It is in the realm of a great idea and I need to work on the concept and get myself set up with some video editing skills and a decent mic. When I re-launch, it will be authentic and engaging, and not just a commercial for my books. Thanks for the tips! And for filming while you're sick. What a trooper! My question is, what editing software should I choose for my Dell laptop? I do have Windows 10. Thanks again!

You're fantastic! Love the ending. ;) I was thinking about obstacles and such. I was on my way to somewhere, and kept seeing the light ahead turn yellow and then red and I had to drive up and stop. And then go and then seeing the next light in the not so distant turn yellow and then red, having to stop and then get going again. I have big ideas and always prevent myself from going after them because all I can see are obstacles that I don't know how to solve (yet so I never start. But, then I thought, wait, here I am needing to go somewhere, I can see the lights turning red, but I keep driving forward because I know they'll go green again and I can continue on my way. Bit of a ramble, but I thought it fit with the theme of your video. Hope you're feeling better soon! (Hopefully Jason makes a mean chicken soup?)

Huge thumbs up for filming while sick! And the tips in this video were genuinely helpful and not predictable like so many tips we've all heard before. I've always thought about starting a YT channel but just haven't been able to come up with an idea that I liked enough (or that didn't make it so much about me). So that's been my struggle... I'm a graphic designer and have thought about maybe teaching on YT but wonder if people are really interested in that and I don't feel like enough of an expert! Typical imposter syndrome... But I love YT and I think if I had the right idea or niche within my field of expertise, I could really sink my teeth into it all.

There really is a lot of truth in the video! I love that you made this so relatable with starting out in the bed and then on the couch, so casually. When I started making Twitch, I procrastinated two weeks opening OBS and just set up everything for live streaming but I was scared as hell to press "go live". But that one day.. I woke up: I'm just gonna do it. And I did. And here I am, two years later.. still doing it several days a week and I still can't believe how far I've come, I never thought I would get 100 Followers or so and now I'm trying to get into youtube too.

Totally understand idea hoarding!! I write on Medium and I have like 30 story/article ideas sitting in my phone notes and probably at least 10 of them are great ideas that I’ve been afraid to write and completely flop. I am SO happy it’s not just me 😂

can you believe ive been here as a consistent viewer for at least 6 years??? but i was suscribed since foreverrrr. i loved to grow up with you and see your changin in style and content. and yes i think one of the most important tips is the first one, you right I HATE PERFECTION, for example in this season i hate produced vlogmas, i loved the casual, real ones. In my case I've been on youtube for almost 6 years and this year has been rooough in views and subs but i'll keep going, i can get to 1m

Great video Monica 👍 No matter the video you make, I guess you need to have this good feeling about it, that it will interest at least one other individual, not because of the thumbnail, but because of the title and what the video will inform them about. It's my take on KZfaq videos. Was there a healthy or unhealthy comparaison during the last 15 years of doing KZfaq, between you and Shelby? You talked about comparaison, but never mentionned her. Great video again and I hope you recuperate fast from this cold.🙂

About your point on being authentic and such... I clearly remember suddenly realizing how much I actually enjoyed listening to you while watching your Japan story video, after mostly ignoring KZfaq's very persistent pushing of your and Shelby's content for several months shortly before that whole illness situation began :) I found Shelby because she was mentioned in some 'How much KZfaq paid me' video and then watched hers too.

How do you like the FX3 and when did you switch to editing in Resolve?! To your point about videos looking better on your computer, that's how I feel about Resolve as opposed to Premiere or Final Cut!

Hi Monica! This was a great video. I found your tips to be a lot more relatable than what I see in similar videos. I have a small channel of just over 1,550 subscribers, and I’ve been making videos for about 2 years. I live in NYC and most of my videos are vlogs that are very heavily geared toward things I’m doing around the city and travel guide type videos. Your point about “5 Best Coffee Shops in Seattle” not being clickable enough really resonates with me. I have several “best of” type videos on my channel, and while I do think they’re good, I realize they could be a lot more exciting. Thanks for giving me something to think about!
