Here's something you absolutely need to have in place when starting a new business!

Today I wanna share with you one of the most helpful exercises you could ever do in your business to get super clear on who you're serving, what you're helping them accomplish, how to speak to them in language that it will be vivid and powerful for them to get them to take action - meaning buying your products, join your programs, come to your events - this exercise unlocks ALL of that!
I stumbled across this while writing my book, ”How to Get Paid For What You know” and realized this process should be applied to everyone's online business, especially when you’re starting out!
It's something that I call the Mentor Map and you’re going to get the step by step outline here today.
This will be a great end of the year/ start of the year framework for you to implement that will give you clarity, confidence and move you to make a real impact with your business. Let’s dive in!
In this episode you'll learn:
- How this framework allowed me to make an impact with my first book
- What you need to create the best customer journey inside your business
- The big questions most people skip, that will end up hurting their growth later on
Hope you enjoy!
- Graham

I am deep into your book. It is extremely well written, clear and convincing. It is having the effect on me that you were aiming for. I now have a structure I have committed to, will implement, and know I will succeed with. I have my teacher, and I'm on my way. (When I write my book I will employ your template :) Am on Step One: Find Your Idea. Am doing the customer research--hardest step for me. I see how doing the 6 steps you recommend here will give me a great deal of further clarity.

Hey Graham! I'm at the book stage and its helpful to hear how that process is both challenging but brought important clarity. Also helpful to think in terms of NUMBERED steps, not just a path.

Thanks so much for this video! I'm building out an online course to launch soon, already have a word document with a layout and notes. I just added everything you said to these notes and will probably spend the rest of the night flushing it out. You just added so much value to my upcoming course and are truly awesome!

Love anything that is simplified and turned into a checklist or map! And ask a question, receive an answer as a way to shift the mind into seek mode. Knowing what to keep and what can be left out.

I loved the video and the Jumpstart Guide. I have been stuck on deciding on a focus for my course. I decided it makes more sense for me to teach my students/clients how to study the material on their own!

This is pure GOLD! Thanks Graham. I am a trombone teacher with many many years of experience, have my method down and know how to teach it. I have about 30 individual students, almost 10 groups and a couple of ensembles plus regularly do workshops. Straight away I could see how the Mentor Map could help me communicate the lesson structure at the beginning of a lesson or course using the opportunity and map steps. Straight away, helping two kids understand rhythm, I turned the process into a 3 step step-by-step approach and saw how that resonated with the kids, like “oh, just three steps to play a melody correctly every time. Thats not mystifying.” This won’t change what I teach, but I will definitely influence how I teach. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this information it was very helpful! I like all the elements , however I'm thinking elements # 4 was profound for me ... knowing the method & steps is important. Leading my client or students by the hand with my words can give comfort in moving forward with the course or service I'm offering. I also like the examples you gave it brought clarity. Looking forward to answering these questions. Again thanks..

I have a small but dedicated KZfaq subscriber base and have marketed to them my online course (built with Kajabi). I struggle with marketing the program and yet it does very well despite my inefficiencies. Marketing, so it seems, requires a plan and unfortunately I'm so haphazard always flying by the seat of my pants. While my program has surpassed my very low expectations of performance, I know it could "do" better. This video has offered some clarity ALL 6 parts and the questions you included inside the parts have regenerated the fire inside :) Thanks for your help as usual.

Thanks, Graham and thanks for the 30-Day Jumpstart. I imagine that as a general rule for lead magnets you would focus on steps 1 - 4 in some detail, particularly the opportunity, and leave the last two steps to your call to further action?

Thanks, Graham! My best 2 takeaways are:- #3- to lead step by step rather than assuming persons know- I thought to do that would be insulting their intelligence so to speak. Instead, I appreciate that it is about communication. The other-#6- CTA- what's the next step? (so I'm thinking ahead and being proactive)👌

Is it worth drop shipping? I talked to one of Shopify's Experts and he basically told me I'd have to spend thousands of dollars and I wouldn't make any money at drop shipping. WTF kind of advice is that!?

Have you checked Oberlo? I had to write a few articles years ago about combining Shopify and Oberlo together and droppshipping from Alibaba or some other wholesale companies that dropship. I'm not sure how you would lose money unless it was on returns which there would be a certain number. I thought Shopify advocated dropshipping? Interesting comment you received.
