Ryan Holiday begins his mornings with nature, his children and no phone. The author and widely-renowned expert on stillness and stoic ancient wisdom admitted to Jay Shetty that the power of presence teaches him more than any textbook ever could.
Holiday has discovered that stillness is so much more than not moving and is committed to intentional living. Listen in as Shetty and Holiday unpack this deeply profound, yet simple principle that has the power to transform lives.

1. Realize when it is causing you a problem - Try to make the connection between feeling tired or ill and the pressures you are faced with - Look out for physical warnings such as tense muscles, over-tiredness, headaches or migraines 2. Identify the causes - Try to identify the underlying causes - Sort the possible reasons for your stress into three categories 1) those with a practical solution 2) those that will get better given time and 3) those you can’t do anything about - Try to release the worry of those in the second and third groups and let them go 3. Review your lifestyle - Could you be taking on too much? - Are there things you are doing which could be handed over to someone else? - Can you do things in a more leisurely way? - To act on the answer to these questions, you may need to prioritize things you are trying to achieve and re-organize your life - This will help to release pressure that can come from trying to do everything at once

Good analogy, but what type of good teacher/god let you take a 10yr test? If sky Daddy "god" cares much, he wouldn't let millions of innocent animals to be sacrificed for food. Nor would millions of children catch "cancer"... We need to get rid of this man made " god/dog" theory and start using our Brains to create better future for the youth... Remember, most religions have divided & killed more people than we think!! #EatRightThinkRightGoVegan

@@EZ_Money101 Sorry to say dear it's not d religion which hve devided us or killed innocent people.. it's some misguided followers who do this just bcoz they don't exactly know the true purpose of thier own religion. Every religion on earth teach us peace & harmony.

I loved this episode! I am a fan of the stoic philosophy, if I can have less things bother me that would be great. My favorite part is when Ryan said how can you be so arrogant that you think you are good enough to do your job or a task without being fully present. That's true, I have to remember to not think about the future when I am talking to someone.

Lately I have been feeling like total crap. I stopped going outside and I stopped working out. I was waking up a little later than I did before and my entire routine went down the drain. Today I finally completed an application which I was working on for 4 days (it shouldn't have taken this long). Now I am working on slowly applying for internships and practicing my interview skills. I am also trying to learn some skills to leverage myself and make money. Its hard to get things done sometimes when your brain constantly puts you down but I need to get back to praying to feel mentally better.

I have a completely different opinion on being the ambassador or the influencer thing. For me, it isn’t ego. For eg. I learnt and got into healthy eating not because it was a trend but it was truly a sign my body needed. Learning and evaluating each experiences, the relationship between food I put on my body and the affects of it. I am also a Food Engineer which implies that I am aware of the Science and Business side of it. I truly want people to start this but convincing has never been harder! And if you say that is ‘ego’, I cannot agree.
