Hi all just would like to add that all the calves are fully recovered now, the 4 we put in had normal temperatures the day after and will be going back with the other bunch tomorrow after 4 days inside. Thinking it was all respiratory in the end from the colder night air.

Adrian a wee tip for you! On your go pro if you use a skeleton case or whatever on it, for added wind protection you can superglue the fluffy mike cover material over the camera holes and it will block some of the wind noise. Not as good as a wireless mic but good for a back up if you haven't done it already. The wind sock material can be bought online for buttons and it does make a good difference. Not needed all the time of course but good to stick on a case and use from there! Just takes the roughness of the peak wind noise out of the EQ and can make wind reduction programs work better when editing. Idk if this makes sense but let me know if it helps!

Mr. Morris, Sir, Animal husbandry at its best. Do 'Teagasc' hold seminars for farmers? How does that work? Do they ever visit to update you on new methods, devices or medicines? Not a farmer, so just curious. God bless your energy levels. Your ' don't leave it to be done by another when you can do it yourself ' is a great credit to the work ethic passed down from father to son. Continued success.

Hi Adrian, great video and plenty of information. A little tip on changing rubber on parlour is wash the machine with hot water and rubber will pull off like butter, and cut the rubber on jars with sharp Stanley knife Coz late night looking for a jar 😩 And one question about ivomic super.. I was told by bord bia not to use it?? Keep the good work up 👌
@IFarmWeFarm
@IFarmWeFarm 8 ай бұрын
Yes I use a Stanley knife at times myself, no bord bia shouldn’t have an issue with Ivormic S as it’s widely available and used. Just have to be careful that the cattle are healthy to begin with as it’s kills all and the cattle may not be able to cough all up cause lung infections

What strikes me, as a former dairy farmer from the Netherlands, is that in Ireland and England you often opt for swingover milking parlors, and so do you, I have always milked in a 2 x 4 milking parlour, and that seems more convenient to me because you don't have hanging milking clusters in the middle of the milking parlour. pit, and a second advantage is that the time between pre-treatment and hanging is shorter, but otherwise I think it is a sleek milking parlour, great for milking, I think, thanks for your vlogs every week
@IFarmWeFarm
@IFarmWeFarm 8 ай бұрын
No swing over here just yet, but if I was to change or upgrade I’d definitely go with a swing over with the clusters hung to one side leaving the entire pit free from obstacles.

County councils should be doing the roads and resurfacing the back roads. I had wicked trouble when heavy rain came. Literally a stream nearly 500 mts whole way dwn the road and went straight in my laneway nd down through my yard bringing muck and debris with it. Asked the council numeous times to fix it. Never helped or replied. Met the council engineer and showed him videos, gave him 5 days notice that if they didnt fix the problem il be bringing a machine up to sort out the councils problems, told them il cut a chanell across the road and divert the water away from my house probably cause an accident and disrupt public water mains in the process. My calls and complaints were all logged with the council. Happy to say 3 days later the amount of council workers that cleaned drains on a 3 mile road for a whole week was very impressive. So my advice is ring the council and explain the same. Were all paying taxes for some roads that are not fit for even tractors

Had same issue here this year nightmare for lungworm. Had calves dosed like yo but no affect. Had to go back with chanverm plus and 2 weeks later dectomax. 🙈. Ivermection can be very hard on them if they have lungworm kills all and calves get it hard to cough them up and end up getting second infection in the lungs. Learned the hard way here 😂. Hope they have picked up for you. Think the girls had the handle broke first made it look like u did it 😂😂

As a youth, though the council should take care of it…yet here I am… It’s the Municipality over here in Canada, and yes…they should take care of it…yet if I don’t clear out the end of the side road after a big snow, everyone would get stuck waiting on them to come and take care if it.
