It's a classic mistake. What you've got to do is open up the source code for your firmware and change lag = 1 to lag = 0.

As a loser who games on his phone, I can tell you those phone screen joysticks/buttons are 100% garbage.

The fact that they assembled that unit and controllers a month ago and had loaded old firmware onto it either means they are inept or it means that the firmware excuse is a lie. Intellivision comes out looking amateurish with either path they choose to go.

Being completely unable to accept criticism or admit fault on anything is one of the defining traits of narcissism. I'm surprised he didn't just call the console the Tallarico Amico.

Rule of thumb, don't call people whom are giving your video game product essentially free advertising, "gaming racists". The only guys excited for this thing are 55 year olds who want to force this ancient technology onto their grandchildren... And after 2 delays (and very little to show) I think he's lost some of them too. This is why your cousin Steven Tyler doesn't return your phone calls.

The cornhole game should have no lag whatsoever. All you have to do is throw the control at the hole. It does not even have to be turned on.

God damnit, Dreamcast, GameCube+GBA, Wii U...... I just want ONE of these systems to some day prove and justify dual screen home console gaming in the way I’m hoping for.

Here's the thing, if this was one instance of lag in isolation, then I would be inclined to believe the firmware excuses. But there has never been any evidence to suggest anything to the contrary to what we have seen so far. Until Tommy is able to produce a production-ready product running at top spec, then the benefit of proof is on him.

This is a product that should be priced at 49.95. I'd buy one for that price. But their current pricing is crazy when you can get a switch for about the same money.

I don't understand this console. It's meant to be a simple and casual machine, when you can just download stuff for your phone and get a comparable experience. I'd argue that it's even more convenient on your phone. The LED lights remind me of those cheap computer peripherals that have a shit-load of RGB to appeal to the "gamer" crowd. Multi-screen game experiences stopped being relevant after the Wii U crashed and burned. Just get a switch if you want a convenient game experience.

Here's how this situation could be fixed a little, in my opinion. Amico representative while handing over the console for test: Just need to let you know, this is older version of the software that still has some bugs we fixed in the newer version. Sadly we couldn't secure a up to date unit for you to test out. IGN review: The controller was unresponsive, but we were warned before testing the Amico, that the unit we got is not up to date and might cause us some trouble that can't be found in a up to date system. That's also the perfect moment you can offer to deliver updated system as soon as possible for a second test. Is it still bad? Yes, but I think it's looking better for you as a company, when you admit to having a problem before your product is criticized and not after. Especially if you knew that older software had issiues you allegedly fixed later.

I'm sure it can't be that complicated to get the most up to date firmware to IGN in some form. Even if you can't update it without online, I'm sure something could be arranged. It'll be even funnier if this thing has the ability to update firmware via USB when it launches because then this whole shit fit will be laughable. Literally could have e-mailed them the solution. Of course this all assumes Tommy is an honest actor and isn't just lying his ass off about firmware in the first place, which is the most likely thing here.

I am from Germany and have followed the project for a long time. I even preordered the founders edition, but I also think how Tommy is handling criticism is not right. I am wondering whether or not Koch Media GmbH who is the distributor for Europe (and Australia) is still having faith (or even cares)? Also, the 11+ million USD investment money is just a drop on the hot stone. Dave Perry could have invested that amount alone from his coffee piggy bank (if he really wanted to). Anyway, I'll wait till July. If then there's no real commitment from Tommy concerning the October release of a flawless product, I am out too! The controller is the worst decision they could have possibly made. The intellivision was my first game system as a child. I loved the system but the controller was the worst piece of shit ive ever used. A modernized version is gonna be just as aweful. The amico could function perfectly but would still fail because it has a terrible controller.

Are there any legit young kids looking forward to this? Since all I see are like 40+ year old men excited for this because they will get the console for free.

Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft would have finalized hardware 6 months before launch because thats when the chips need to be ready to be fabricated. Those are custom chips, this is using off the shelf parts. They should have plenty of access to finalized socs. There is no reason the hardware shouldn't be functional 6 months until launch...

So many of us know Tommy Tallarico as the 'bad reviewer' on Electric Playground from when we were kids. To see him speaking out on violent & adult content and haters/critics now is so ironic to me. Search YT for the Electric Playground review of God of War on PS2 and the one for Metriod Prime on Gamecube. So, he crudely celebrated the adult content on GoW and was overly critical of the controls in Metroid Prime, which many people called him out on at the time, even Victor! Now in 2021 he openly rants against people playing violent, adult-themed games and he doesn't want his controls bashed at all. Somebody should seriously do a video with some sound bytes from those EP reviews alongside what he's been saying lately, his comments are eye opening now in comparison. The dude is mad at the current state of gaming, which he himself actually in fact helped to perpetuate in mainstream media. The dude is like the godfather of hate and videogame indecency. He's openly telling people not to buy the Amico outside of the people who worship him, even telling potential consumers to F off. If I was an investor, I wouldn't want people saying that to the customers out there. How is that even logical from a business standpoint?

I was watching a documentary called Playing With Power and I noticed Tommy was in it . I was wondering why out of all people they could have had in the documentary they decided to go with Tommy. I mean they had some pretty recognizable people there in the interview like Nolan Bushnell, Howard Phillips former spokesman of Nintendo. So then all of a sudden you see Tommy and he's so out of place, I was like who is this clown . Then I recognized him and I realized it was Tommy the same guy Pat has been talking about.

I was excited for the amico over a year ago. But were now months away from the release. I see their KZfaq channel release stuff every maybe month or bi monthly. That in it of itself has convinced me to completely steer clear of the system. The lack of communication is not good at all. Then when I see videos released it's a bunch of reaction videos. I as a consumer don't give a rats ass about someone who comes across as a shill reacting to some of the games.
