Alan Wake 2 is here after 13 years and Remedy has gone full survival horror for the sequel, including creating one of the most terrifying game over screens in games. Here's how they mixed live-action footage to create it.

It's definitely possible since Kojima is collaborating with Jordan Peele. What would be cool is if Kojima were to eventually collab with same to make that "Gothic horror" game he had mentioned once in an interview (It started off as hin talking about what other things could await the team, basically regarding possible future projects- And if I'm not mistaken while Sam was answering the interviewers question, he basically went on about this one idea basically being his dream project).

To this day, the one game over screen that topped it off for me was the hallucinatory ones from Spec Ops the Line. Specifically the one where silhouettes or figures are surrounding your view, its somewhat blurry and there's a distortion effect. Instead of a black vignette its a white vignette and while this sequence plays, there's a feminine voice humming Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

no mention of Saga's end screen? Super curious if they tried anything else for her. (if possible, might have been really cool for her end screen to be like true detective opening credits - the last few seconds of your gameplay appearing projected onto her face while she frowns and says 'that didn't happen." Curious if Northlight Engine's video wizardry could do like a real time depthmap for projected video, so it's less "flat planes" and more "wrapping around surfaces").

Nah Saga doesn’t have a unique game over screen, it’s just Alan’s game over screen but without the scene of Alan laying down dead.

The jump scares come at the right time and are warranted, it’s not like a scary movie that forces its “horror hand” with it and the quick shriek of a violin they are placed with thought at moments of letting your guard down or having just gotten through something the game keeps you on your toes and is story writing at its finest.
