As someone who has personally been through this type of situation, and who had to stand up and bravely tell the truth in the face of an ENTIRE church and even denomination of people, at one point, who believed that my abuser could do no wrong and painted me as a villain, PLEASE listen when I implore you to be impartial about this matter. I know what its like to have no one believe you when you tell the truth, and frankly, it's horrifying. They even claim you have the devil inside of you and other garbage. This actually caused me to become an atheist for many years. Please DO NOT drive people away from God like this. And please be fair about the situation, and neither treat Mike as if he is guilty until proven innocent, nor should you treat the potential victims as if they are the guilty liars being put on trial. Yes, unfortunately, it's possible that the people accusing Mike are lying, but it's also possible they are telling the truth. When you decide to take sides instead of remaining impartial you damage relationships and tear apart the church. I love IHOPKC and I hate to see that this is happening to you guys. But PLEASE do not give in to the temptation to react to what is going on in a sinful or hate filled way. Why didn't IHOP just get a third party, that specialises in clergy abuse to investigate over a month ago? One that the victims feel comfortable talking to, why is this already about the court of law? "He said, she said" are almost impossible to prove in the court of law which is why victims do not come forward. The likelihood of victims feeling safe talking to lawyers paid for by the corporation that is not believing their testimony is not really that surprising.

Why is everyone so critical of Ihopkc when the accusations are against Mike Bickle? Further more Mike is no longer on staff and not even allowed at Ihopkc. What more do you want them to do? No one can force Mike to confess. If they are not satisfied take Mike to criminal court and let him defend himself

So few responses that are neutral. If we're looking for truth, shouldn't we abstain from "certain" statements that are actually baseless. That includes the "Mike is a man of God and innocent" side as well as the "alleged victims are definitely right and IHOP leaders are all wrong". The truth is likely more complicated, more nuanced. Here's what I'm seeing. IHOPKC is saying they want to play ball but under their rules/terms with referees that's hired and paid for by IHOP. But IHOP insists it will all be honest. Gee I wonder why the other team doesn't want to play?

Perhaps the fact that IHOP is using attorneys to investigate is alarming to the advocacy group. It doesn't feel transparent. A lawyer has a responsibility to their client, not to a victim. A lawyer is in fact bound by the law to represent their client's best interests and no one else.

The victim group provided you with another true third-party option, Guidepost, and you have refused it. Why are you hellbent on hiring aggressive defense lawyers to pose as “investigators?” Do you think we’re idiots? Other things that normal, healthy organizations don’t do: hiding the identities of your board members, hiding the identity of your lawyers, providing no means for other victims to come forward to anyone outside of the organization itself until someone leaks your lawyer’s identity. I get all of this and support that facts must be established. But Mike Bickle knows what that he either did what was alleged or he didnt and he should come forward and provide a full, honest response to all allegations and admit where there is truth and accuracy. You get the agreement of the advocate group before you choose an investigative group. You don't just choose one that you're happy with. I think a list was developed at the outset of who would be acceptable.

When you first made the announcement on Sunday that the name of the lead investigator would NOT be disclosed, I thought that was an error. It is NOT objective to NOT release the name of the lead investigator. That to me smelled fishy.

Absolutely puzzling. Come forward accuser(s) or come clean. Praying for everyone involved. May the truth come out regardless of what it is, God is able to forgive and heal.

Bottom line is Mike Bickle should publicly confess or deny. Doing nothing is not being brave or helping. Remaining silent is wrong.

I think we should be patient and wait to see if in the coming days any representative of the advocate group shares the REASONS that they are not cooperating with the investigative firm chosen by IHOPKC. Maybe they have good reasons, maybe they don't. Also, it is not clear (I don't remember this being shared yet) why IHOPKC did not go with Guidepost Solutions, which the advocate group seems to favor. Going with Guidepost Solutions would likely have allowed the process to advance. And this has been recommended repeatedly to the IHOPKC leadership (not just by the advocate group, but by others) at least since the first week that the allegations became public. So, it seems to me that IHOPKC bears a large amount of responsibility for the delay so far and even for any continuing delay.

Those advocating that IHOP allow the advocate group to choose the investigator of IHOP are either naive or malicious. Mike was accused of sexual assault, on what planet should someone or an organization accused of a crime allow the other party to choose who investigates and represents them. Allow the process to work, if real evidence existed the advocate group would have contacted the police. No one commenting would agree to what they are demanding IHOP and MB to agree to. Americans are allowed to have due process and are allowed to choose skilled and smart people to help them. I believe Mike and I also think sometimes people who make accusations are not completely honest or exaggerate. MB is right to step back, this crowd would examine and reexamine every word and twist the meaning. They would have body language experts reviewing footage. This crowd desires to devour tidbits of inflammatory information. This is why no one of quality runs for office, they and their families are subject to armchair investigators who are not stake holders but desire an audience.

I am concerned about the spin in these communications. With a commitment to transparency and truth…why was the time line limited to “official notification” and not when the ELT first found out about the allegations? Also, why were people encouraged to read IHOPKC’s statement regarding initial findings without anything said regarding the advocacy groups response to this report? Blaming the advocacy group for not agreeing with a law firm as the investigators should be no surprise. They were informed of this in the beginning, yet continue to offer up different law firms each time. Why not hire a third party investigator who has experience in these types of circumstances, with each party having legal representation? Guidepost is merely one such organization. I had so hoped for something more transparent and honest…I am grieved as I have loved and supported IHOPKC for over 15 years.

You refer to the INDEPENDENT investigation. However, the problem is, in a truly unbiased sense, it is NOT independent. The lead investigator is "hooked and tied" to IHOPKC. Just saying the facts. She is being paid by them. For her to remain UNBIASED in this matter, and if MB is guilty, then it would be like punching her employer in the face. She will be reluctant to do that, unless she is truly a servant of the living God in the most trusted of senses. On the other hand, I suppose it is possible that she could remain unbiased. And that would be our hope. But the fact that you chose to hide her name from the beginning does NOT look good on you. You should NOT have done that. On a technicality, a very clever defense lawyer could get their client "off the hook" and the person could still be guilty. I would like to see this woman's track record of ethics. The victims CAN'T cooperate because IHOPKC forced the Victims to all have to hire their own attorneys and probably began a civil case. You can't assess a victim's testimony or evaluate a victim's evidence if they are advised not to participate because of active civil or criminal cases per their attorneys. Plus, what abuse victim is going to think a "fixer" aka "crisis manager" is a safe person to share with? Eric already said on his website that he only works for people who are innocent - so him agreeing to work with IHOPKC was him already saying he believes Mike is innocent.

The firm they hired has a strong emphasis on DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion). They are also strong supporters of the LGBTQ+ community. It would be nice if they hired someone with a Christian worldview or at least with a biblical moral viewpoint rather than one that is aligned with the world. Additionally, hiring a law firm means all results of the investigation would go to the attorneys who would then give it to IHOPKC. They would become the holder of the results due to attorney client privilege and IHOPKC can selectively release the information they want out there. Right now they do not have a great track record with being forthcoming. Understand why the advocate group is hesitant.

If the advocacy group did leak the information of the law firm hired, that is a bad sign. No matter what happens there should be a level of confidentiality. But can't the advocacy group go to the authorities? Is that illegal? Because there is no way an organization would let you come with your investigators to investigate it's documents. No way. The organization is not about one man. They have rights as well. I feel that the best way is to go to the authorities or go to court so that the government will do the investigation. But if anything makes it impossible to take it to the authorities, they have no option than to negotiate the way forward with the organization.

You didn't explain why the advocate group said no to the third parties. You also didn't mention that IHOPKC rejected at least 2 third party investigators that were suggested by the advocate group.
