I am nit rourkela alumni.. Only difference in iit vs nit is money.. Central govt allocated 400 cr per year for iit.. 200cr per year for nit.. Obviously infrastructure and research will be less efficient then iit

I went to NIT for BTech and IIEST for MTech as it was near to my home and in the City. I am happy with my placements both are top Institute with high reputation. Many of my friends are working in Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, US, UK, Australia, India in Top position some are without further education in their core branch's.

Madam, talk about JEE mains and JEE advanced test difference. That's where the complexity and frame of mind changes. JEE advanced is way different in approach and complexity. All in all. It's about brains and their problem solving ability.

Few corrections: There is no cut off released by each NITs. There is a joint counselling and u have to fill choices in order of preference and u may be alloted seats based on your rank.

Why do you think these Indians were ruled for 1000 of years by invaders? This mentality is what will make the country a servant because it's in the name - their aspiration is to be a "naukar". The entrance exams should be overhauled and motivation and vision must be weighed before admitting to the top institutions of the country. The greatest mind with aspirations of being a servant shouldn't be preferred over a visionary.

Iam from NIT Agartala If you want to become good engineer then develop interests in science and analytical ability you may get more package than IIT NIT students from other engineering college also . IIT NIT IS not the you ultimate success or failure so chill and enjoy wherever you study .one other thing is that the all IIT lectures are available online also you can learn from there also .

IIT and NIT were made for research so that the country couldprogress Technologically but on seeing the potential of the students in these colleges many multinational companies started hiring the students at very impressive packages hence many parent started prepairing the students for engineering in IIT and NIT so that they could get good packages but this led to the worsening of research quality in the colleges because the students sole aim was to secure good package, nowadays master student apply for placement rather than research the situation is in NIT is more worse as the research is very less and only aim of students is placement in IIT it is better but it is not as good as it used to be and and this is how the governments money is directly going to the corporate offices because the students are studying at a very subsidized rate in IIT and NIT but that investment is not in the benefit of country but in the benefit of corporate world.

Better way to study in an IIT/NIT/IISc is in post graduation, do graduation from a decent college and keep a good score there. After that clear GATE and you'll be eligible for IIT/NIT/IISc, etc. GATE is much easier than JEE.

@@AdityaKumar-vw9gt Jo log Advanced clear kar ke IITs mein gaye hain unko bhi ek certain GPA maintain karne ke baad hi Masters mein direct admission milta hai, nahi to unhe bhi GATE dena padta hai Aur rahi baat zyadatar intelligent bachchon ki IIT mein jaane ki, to agar aap statistically jee ka paper dekhein you'll find that only 10% or even less are selected through JEE because Advanced ke baad mein counselling hoti hai,

@@AdityaKumar-vw9gt Competition decrease hone ka reason sirf ek hai ki, GATE mein zyada log nahi baith'te, people from both private and government colleges ( IITs/NITs/IISc/Others) in more than 70% cases go for job, very few people actually do Masters. Where tens of Lakhs of People sit for JEE, only 10% of that sit for GATE

You have not discussed about main difference. That's admission procedure and type of question asked. For NIT you have to crack JEE mains with a certain cutoff mark. But for IIT, you have to crack JEE Advanced after cracking JEE mains with a certain cutoff mark. JEE mains question is based on your NCERT books. Tricky and tough questions are few in physics and chemistry. Maths generally lengthy. Time and errorless perfection is the main criteria. But in Advanced, time is not the main factor. Main factor is your concept and intelligence. That's why IIT is much more ahead of NIT. Difference between IIT & NIT is their type of students and teachers also.

Kitna bhi IIT aur nit mai students Kyu na padhi kar le jab ham ek laptop lene jate hai market mai too wo bhi made in chaina ka milta hai but still I am also a engineering student....

I am from SVNIT, SURAT allumni please call govt to make proper campus for IIIT, Surat. Because they were taught in our campus and this year they were forcefully taught in the shed.

govt Nit professors ko 50000 salary dethee hain aur wohi govt iit professors ko 100000 minimum salary dethey hain…. Govt Nit professors ko Har roj Subha naasthey mein chai biscuit kilaathee hain aur lunch mein daal roti kilaathi hain… Lekin wohi govt IIT professors ko naasthey mein Dosaa Vada ya aloo paraathe kilathi aur lunch mein chicken mutton 65 kilaathi hain…. Ab pata chaala kyon IIT mein NIT ke mukaable padhaai achhi hothi hain??? Itna samaj lo agar IIT Bhagwan shree ramji hain…. Toh NIT. Bharathji hain….

I'm currently scholar of BTech cource in IIT PATNA,in CSE .One of the facinating thing about this IIT is it's closeness and interaction with the mother NATURE. In terms of infrastructure every building in IIT PATNA in excellent but our Central library is one of the facinating thing. IIT PATNA is spreaded in 800 Acre.
