hop was my dad’s big break as a freelance fx artist so we had a tradition to watch it every easter. that being said, it wasn’t very good, but I still enjoy I for some nostalgia reasons

I always thought that a better ending would be that the Dad still didn't accept him but the main character was still happy. It would have been a better message.

Fun Fact: Since Easter celebrates the Resurrection (or rebirth I guess) of Jesus rabbits are the mascot due to the well known fact they breed like crazy. They were often seen as a symbol of fertility. They were also thought to be mysterious due to them being mostly active during the dusk and dawn.

My parents used to make me watch this with them on Easter so many times, that I actually liked it a lot.

This movie is objectively terrible, but that didn't stop me watching it ten times.

For years I’ve been haunted by the fact that if you replace the word “Candy” with “Pussy” in “I Want Candy” the song still works.

I lived in Jordan for a year, and they have mostly pirated copies of movies and software because official copies were too expensive. They were often really low resolution or were even filmed in a cinema itself, and these copies were also censored, because the Middle-East is EXTREMELY conservative, and even a pretty tame adult joke would freak everyone the hell out. I had a burned DVD of Hop with a custom menu and everything, but here's the weird part; this happened in 2008-2009, two years BEFORE it says it came out everywhere. To this day, I have no idea what that copy was. Unfortunately, I don't remember anything about it aside from the Playboy joke not being there and the menu being really basic, so I can't answer any questions. The whole time I thought the movie was good, but maybe what I saw could've been a pre-production version or something. EDIT: I didn't finish watching the video, but I remember this movie completely differently than how it's described here. I thought Russel Brand played both E.B. and the main character, as opposed to him being played by the current actor. None of the adult jokes were there and E.B. already knew he was supposed to be the Easter Bunny from the very beginning. At this point, I don't know whether it was changes to the plot or just false memories here.

Hop is one of the best Christmas movies. I love how well it represents Christmas in it’s theming and writing.

I just realized this movie is exactly like the movie Rock Dog. Animal wants to play music, Animal's Dad wants him to do something else, Animal runs away to the city and in the end the animal's love for music saves everything. Wow now I don't like either movies.

The only reason I rewatched this (once or twice) when I was young was because I liked the drumming scene with the song 'Dynamite'; I wasn't really given access to explore music so I just watched the film to hear the song.

It's like they tried the "the Santa Clause" formula on Easter mythos, which is a lot slimmer than Christmas mythos, but they also pulled in the subplot from "The Santa Clause 2" as well? It might have been better had they just whole heartedly ripped from "The Santa Clause" and had Fred start out as the unwitting human heir to the Easter Bunny title. Perhaps accidently killing the previous one OR maybe in this universe the Easter Bunny title is granted by a magic scroll, and the current one wants his (willing but unfit) son to become the next Easter Bunny but the scroll says it's Fred, who is actually unwilling, this would pit Fred and E.B. and the father against their destinies, and set up for an interesting conflict that way.

I oddly enjoy EB's voice acting.

I was very terrified of this movie as a kid, I had just seen Watership Down because my mom had read the books and loved the movie as a kid, forgetting how absolutely traumatizing the movie is. So, when I watched this movie I was still on that fear of rabbit movies. I had a very different experience watching this movie compared to most people, as I spent the whole run time in anticipation of something horrible to happen.
