Sorry about the Doom on this one, but i feel like soto has been a bust for PVE content for the endgame crowd, basically 1 CM that i cannot interact with, a fractal that is based around a story that i have little interest in, and so on. im looking forward to announcing the giveaway winners here next week, and im working hard on another non-zero-to-hero video that i think you will all enjoy.
I have a few other videos to create outside of these ones, so make sure to subscribe if youre new here. this one was kind of rushed out, i ran out of time this weekend and ended up oversleeping this morning.

The into mission into SOTO, the investigation, and the little interaction with Cerus, the Skywatch Archipelago as a first map, all phenomenal imo. I also still enjoyed amnytas as a map to start with, but over time it got annoying. Also getting the Skyscale easier was nice.

1. I loved SOTOs introduction--the investigating some sus people, thinking they'll probably just be another group of ne'er-do-wells, finding out that, no, they're not bad, they're just trying to protect you from something, was fun. And then that part of getting in over your head, at first, while hiding from Cerus? Total change of pace from being able to dominate everything. Loved how they kept referring back to the fact that we'd killed dragons and a god. Also, the Weapon Mastery stuff was cool. Wish that the story had ended as it started. 2. Hollow Knight, Baldur's Gate 3, FTL, Sekiro, some Starcraft 2, God of Weapons, and Mirror's Edge: Catalyst.

Fav part of SOTO will end up being that there’s a casual way to get leggy armor. I play Fortnite with my oldest son. I also bounce around between other games: WOW (less and less these days), Elite Dangerous, No Man’s Sky. I used to dip in and play Wildstar Online when it was still a thing. I loved that game so much. But I mostly play GW2 with my three kiddos. And that amounts to about 3-5 hours a week for me. Unless we’re taking a break to prevent burn out, there’s not much time for other things.

Q1: As a solo player the obsidian armor was a nice addition. As raids are not for me, and i'm not a big pvp guy, WvW is fun.... in small chunks. It feels very achievable. New weapons are nice and that all weapons could be used with every specializations was really awesome aswell. But by far the best thing about soto is that it made me come back to GW2 in full swing. I played through everything i missed, the living world seasons, IBS etc. etc. Q2: I play too many games... Helldivers, Dwarf Fortress, prepping for Elden Ring DLC, Monster Hunter, DD2, planning on playing through all of Metal Gear... too many games...

My favorite part of SOTO is logging out after only doing dailies. I like the lack of useful/meaningful rewards because it's spring and I'd rather be outside anyway. The "massive battle".......smh...5 on 5.... I wanted the option to immediately kill both Pietha and the Queen to end the story....

Q1. The new weapon on each class and nothing else, I know some get a good weapon and some may not but it is what it is. Q2. I used to play league and dota 2 but i haven't touch it since my college days. Right now i only play GW2, Terraria and NBA 2k14 since its a great game even tho its kinda repetitive but fun to play.

SOTO story started strong and then just turned into another “world ending” arc… There was so much about Skywatch with references to fractals and morally grey decisions by the Wizards that just never even mattered. I recently did the Season 1 replays for the 20 slot bags and MAN was Scarlett a great villain. Similar to Joko. It’s a mix of threatening a place we know/like but also working with breadcrumbs of lore. I also think the next expansion currency will get added to the PVE Legendary Armor. But that’s a hot take I guess since people are convinced they won’t let rift farming and convergences die out like DRMs. Everything in SOTO is valued around getting that Legendary Armor and once a lot have it it’s gonna get harder to find T3 rift groups and Public Convergence.

I would say, the best part of soto was the few new meta events, rifts and convergences talking for them as gold making method. and of course the obsidian armor

Q1: for me best part were leggy armour and easy daily strikes to farm mystic clovers. I am aslo farming spvp and i will get ascended shard of glory for 4 pieces in current season so i could make a nice mysforged set by the end of next season. May be i focus raiding at some point to get raid set as well to get all 3 armour classes leggyes. Q2: my games are Victoria 3, Oxygen not included and some other economic simulators. Right not i am looking forward onto Captain of industy upcomming relese and EU5 dev diaries.

Best part of soto honestly was the weapon mastery. That it is tied to soto itself is weird, but it does open up a lot of freedom

I started playing around the time of the realm of dreams release so SoTO kinda bugged me in a lot of ways, I saw a lot of players talk about the free relics each character got and the legendary relic but I was too new to take advantage of either of those things. I really wanted to do instanced content so I looked up builds and found that for qdps herald I would need the relic of the thief and it would cost me about 16g on the trading post, just kinda left a sour taste in my mouth a little bit. I didn't even get my skyscale the SoTO way I did the LWS4 grind because I was having fun with it, so like I can't really say what my favourite parts of SoTO were beacuse I've spent most of my time playing the other content from previous expansions, the strikes were ok? (I haven't done any CMs) CO is too easy and what we would call a training dummy fight in FFXIV, Cerus is a bit better but not anything super amazing. idk I guess SoTO was ok I enjoyed the maps well enough but I've spent most of the expansion doing past expac stuff instead.

I started playing this game in late January this year. Let me share my two cents from a new player's perspective. The best thing about SOTO for me is the wizard vault. Before level 80 I did not take this game seriously. Upon reaching level 80 realizing I can get 90 gold very quickly got me hooked to this game because I can grab basic gear easily. The SOTO legendary armor is also a good thing for a new player, I have enough material to make my first legendary armor piece, which will be my first legendary item. Raiding is not new-player friendly nowadays, especially for me who play in off-peak hours. I kind of give up after trying several discord servers. The worst thing about SOTO IMO is the relic system. I really hate it. Veterans don't care about it because they got legendary relic for free. New players are stuck with spending 15 gold for each SOUL-BOUND relic. I like to try different chars with different builds, but buying 5 thief relics for 5 different power dps chars is bad (I only bought two so far, for the other three I still leave it empty), let alone other more complicated build. I really wish Anet can have ascended version of relics so that I can swap.

You can buy stat selectable exotic armor and Weapons from TEID-07 Unified Vendor System in WVW maps for gold/silver and badges of honor. Way cheaper than the TP prices BUT the badges of Honor can be a kinda slow grind.

Q1.) What is your favorite part about SOTO? A1.) Weapon Master is the only good part of SOTO for me. Dagger/Pistol warrior is a very fluid set that's just a blast to play. Weapon Master as a whole was horrible for elite spec identity, but Anet seems to really like destroying unique identities. Every mesmer and rev having shield & Great Sword feels awful to fight against. Q2.) What other games do you play? A2.) V Rising just dropped its full release, and it's the most fun I've had gaming in a while. I'm not the biggest top/down MOBA type game fan, but V won me over. The combat is similar to GW2 in that the weapons have skills tried to them so you can swap between as many weapons as you want. Finding how each of the weapons/magics synergize is too good.

SOTO was so much of a let-down that I honestly soft-quit the game, and coming back for these "updates" it seems like I made the right choice. If this new "expansion model" is what they're going to do going forward then they really need to shape up and get their shit together.

Without a question, best part of soto IS the new weapons and weapon mastery. The content otherwise is boring and feels like a filler Destiny, rust, helldivers, fallout, battlefield

Soto has the worse story and on top of that the worse expansion as well compare to the other expansions. I hope the next expansion is something different.

soto is really a disapointment, the only part of the game i really enjoyed was the basegame and some part of heart of torns, path of fire was trash in my opinion and End of Dragons is something i have yet to play

I bought soto but I live in Australia now and ping makes GW2 unplayable. Im hoping they do a remaster of GW1 though. I really miss GW1 and theres nothing like it.

If they did I'd definitely play through again. To be fair gw1 still plays pretty well.
