Idk if you watched jjk 0 but at the end right before gojo says geto was the only best friend he ever had, those flashbacks he gets are all from this season, you can even see riko and kuroi in it. It's a nice way to connect everything. It's so sad

Ok, let's explain about Toji: he doesn't have cursed energy because in the jujutsu world there is something called heavenly restraint. Which would be limiting something to increase the other. In this case, it boils down to sorcerers having some limitations in exchange for having a lot of cursed energy. For example mechamaru, who has enough cursed energy to be able to control his puppets from a distance like the entire continent. In return, he was largely without his limbs. Heavenly Pact is like the binding vows that Nanami uses called “Overtime” where there is a trade off for something in return. Unlike Binding Vows which are made of free will, people are born or predestined with Heavenly Pacts. Both Maki and Toji have Heavenly Pacts where a reduction of cursed energy capacity gifts them enhanced physical abilities. I won’t say more about Maki due to spoiler reasons, but Toji essentially has zero cursed energies, leaving no residuals (making it harder for Gojo to track him), and he is way stronger than even Maki.

Chaff is reflective "confetti" essentially. It's application is mostly to disrupt tracking computers and sensor equipment by aircraft in the military. The curses blinded Gojo's Six Eyes that can perceive cursed energy and reality with an extra couple of lenses, even moreso than his Heavenly Pact erasing any cursed energy Toji could have had. The line "...get you to focus on defense" was because in truth, Toji can't deal with Gojo's actual attacks. Sure, he can take being tossed around a bit, but if he got hit directly by that Blue "wipe"? But Gojo's defense is a different story, he can negate it with the Inverted Spear of Heaven no matter how much energy Gojo puts into it. Putting Gojo on the backfoot, executing the battle just like he said he had planned "with several false starts and ends"...Toji knew exactly how to play child Gojo and had the tools and ability to pull it off, something nobody else could do. Toji's actions these past few days have set up so much of current JJK. Gojo turned the world on it's head with his birth. Toji did the same the day he killed him.

you have seen heavenly pacts/restrictions in season 1 aswell, Heavenly restrictions/pacts are pacts that jujutsu sorcerer are born with given by well "heaven or the gods" as far as we know. The difference form a normal pact is well that its on birth but also that its forced upon them, they dont get a choice or opinion on it, maki has a similar one to toji, sacrificing cursed energy for incredible physical abilities, the difference is that maki still has a tiny bit of it left while toji has absolutely 0, a lot of people also missed that mechamaru also has one but instead of losing his cursed energy and be given physical abilities it was the opposite, he got a extremely frail and sick body in exchange for being able to use a technique from massive distances together with a high production of cursed energy. ' but as demonstrated in season 1 they are not neccesarily positive, mechamaru hates it and said he would stop being a jujutsu sorcerer in a heartbeat just to get a normal body chaff has several different definitions but in this context i believe it means is that he is just throwing a large amount of useless/ weak creatues as to obstruct gojos view, one of its definitions are : material (such as strips of foil or clusters of fine wires) ejected into the air for reflecting radar waves (as for confusing an enemy's radar detection)

That's also a heavenly pact where Mechamaru didn't got any physical power but have lots of curse power. Toji is also born with heavenly pact where he got superhuman strength but didn't got any curse energy. My theory is Gojo is the only one who have a different kind of heavenly pact where he got unlimited curse power and superhuman strength. He is kind of a god in JJK universe.
