Although my only son refused to invite me to his wedding 12 years ago I learned only recently that he played this ballad and sweetly sung the lyrics of John Lennon to his bride. There wasn’t a dry eye at the reception. I cry every time I hear it . . .

This is one of the PUREST covers I have ever heard. None of that pretentious freestyle screeching or unecessarily super dragged out notes. Some songs, it makes sense to make modernized stylization, but for SERIOUS SONGS LIKE THIS, THAT LITERALLY SING ABOUT WAR AND PEACE, IT SHOULD BE LEFT PURE AND ORIGINAL.
