Why does the active stabilization not work?

After 5 months of lockdown during which I've not so much as touched a camera never mind operated one, I've got a 'B' roll shoot with an FX9, a camera I've never used before, later this week. To say I am finding this series of illustrative guides VERY useful would be a huge understatement. Luckily Im no stranger to Sony cameras of a similar calibre. Thank you Sony and thank you Alister for clearing a lot of the fog. Shame I cant get hold of one to practice with before the shoot.

Ciao Alister... ho notato che la stabilizzazione elettronica della FX9 via Catalyst, non funziona se la risoluzione è in HD 1920 x 1080 I (interlacciato)

Sony is so limited when it comes to full frame lenses with Optical Stabilization.. it’s almost heart breaking. And unfortunately, Catalyst Browse only adds more time to the production workflow. This is a helpful video though. I appreciate Big Al’s info.. but it doesn’t excuse Sony from the lack of Full Frame OSS lens options or cinema IBIS.

At Sony, they are so ashamed of their stabilization system on the FX9 that you have to search like crazy to find an explanation of how it works. The system is so unintuitive that Sony engineers they don't understand it themselves. The proof is that they could not explain it to the user in the menu. When you put STEADY ON, it means NO STEADY recorded for post-production processing. In the end, it's good to know.

Agreed... so frustrated with Sony’s lack of full-frame OSS lenses.. as well as the lack of IBIS in their cinema cameras. This is a huge problem for the average event / corporate videographer.
