Same thing happened with Xenogears. Was originally considered as the story for FFVII, but Square decided it was too dark. They still allowed it to become its own game (even though they rushed its development) Now that I think about it, Parasite Eve was partially based off an early concept for FFVII

I think it would be great as part of a "Nomura verse" game, it could be directly connected to kingdom hearts but as an alternate reality or part of it's universe,without Disney.

I want Verum Rex to become a reality as a full on game that's totally Tetsuya Nomura's his to own and to make a series and franchise from Verum Rex.

I don't like reum Rex or whatever his name is but it looks like world ends with you and Rex live in a video game themed wolrd maybe that's our FF friends world too

Disney is what saved kingdom hearts from from being a complete incompetent mess. The first had no spin off story yet and had the strongest story. Two got weird and after that became bullshit.

Well. It doesn't have to be "M rated" we had an M rated final fantasy already...and it's dialogue was pretty awkward. It's rating came because of an overuse of blood. I'd rather see a Mature game that earns it's M rating because of the themes, situations, and psychologically compelling story telling....not because of swearing, nudity and violence. I mean a true adult game. Sort of like what Heavy Rain did.

M rating is overrated. final fantasy has only ever had one M rated game (according to the ESRB) and it was trash. check their website for yourself. final fantasy fans should come to the realisation that final fantasy is pseudo-mature, quite cringe-worthy most of the time and honestly very cartoony. lots of undeserved elitist snobbery in this fanbase.

Yeah, transplant the ideas from Versus XIII that didn't make it into XV. We all know a lot of things ended up on the cutting room floor.

Too bad it looks like a cheap, generic-ass version of what VSXIII was (and what XV is, for that instance). I’m not sold on the character design nor the aesthetic, at all. If it was for us to “experience versus 13”, I would expect something better and more unique.

But there were many Final Fantasy figures in the toy story world. And many FF Characters as guests in KH. Showing Verum Rex in KH doesnt mean it is a part of KH.

And even then there were harsh opinions such as "Still expensive" and "Buy it when it becomes three digits". Japan reviewed FFXV poorly, with one-star ratings on Amazon in particular outnumbering five-star ratings at first. The five-star ratings have edged out the one-stars by about 2 percent, but those reviews are hilariously harsh. "I bought it at 1000 yen and still regretted it"/"The battle system is like a poor quality Kingdom Hearts", "I made a reservation and bought it at full price, and quit it in half a day", etc. At some point, XV finally got to the three-digit price point and electronics retailer Yodobashi Camera was selling the game for 980 yen (a close-to-90% drop) during the holiday seasons. In addition, so much unsold stock of XV was being given away in holiday bags, that gamers took to calling them "FF15 bags" because the chances of getting a copy of the game was too high. Granted, Japan isn't the whole world, and the global gaming market is what it is, but it's very telling that SE tried to deceptively push the number of *shipments* as being the same as *sales* when in at least one country they absolutely overshipped with a "Get This Out The Door" mentality. On their own page ( www.jp.square-enix.com/ff15/five_million/ ) they have the words "Final Fantasy XV sold over 5 million on the first day of release!", with an asterisk clarifying that they were counting the number of *packages shipped* and *download sales* as Sales, and not a true number of how many people bought the game. So when SE tries to spin any numbers about XV in particular, it's good to think of how they got to those numbers.

That likely wouldn't be a issue, as two keys crossed together in an X shape is a common symbol in much of the world.

There's no reason to jump into next gen yet. Current gen consoles will still be around.

@@ChaosAngelZero Considering how nowadays Square is making LARGE games (KH3, FFVII remake, FFXV) Switch users would probably be required to get an sd card to play, or get a watered down version. Due to this, it probably won't be on Switch. Also, if Square waits to get early PS5s (which they presumably already have) then after FFVII Remake is released, they can develop Verum Rex on the PS5 since by then, it'll probably be shown off.

it would easily be on PS5. It's extremely doubtful that it would ever be released on a nintendo console.

It does look like a Versus 13 downgrade to me as well. I'm not particularly a fan of the character design in Versus 13 and 15, but it does look more mature than Verum Rex.

It looked childish because they were inside KH3. They need to make it more childish like as to make the design coherent with KH3. They can make changes if they really want to. If theyll make this as a spin-off game then they can change this to a more mature design if they want to.

Way too similar to FFXV for that. It'd have to be a FF spin off at most
