There's no way that Kozma doesn't know, yeah? She absolutely knows. She told Phineas to take away her food knowing it would go to Lark. She made that comment at the end as another indication.

She knows. She's Baron Kozma Laszlo. I assume she hasn't directly confronted Phineas about it for two reasons - one, she wants to keep him at ease and on her side as much as possible, and two, she already has some kind of plan on how she can use that to her advantage. The only question that remains, of course, is what that plan of hers is.

Its interesting to me that Phineas has changed so much that he has almost a complete non-reaction to learning Lark killed Max. Only half-joking with Lark to her face about the revelation.

If it ends up being revealed that Kozma has a similar connection to the Fold as Lark and is able to feel the vibrations on the web, I won't be surprised. Her timing for selling Midst, knowledge of her stowaway, convenient timing in picking up 2/3 of our protagonists just as both sever their connections and seek to go do the right thing, and even her status as a powerful person who isn't beholden to the Trust and is a collector "of power, of people" all have me certain that she's either the most well-connected, lucky person we've seen or that she inherently knows how to be in the right places at the right times. I'm so excited to see where this season goes!

When I first started listening to MIDST, Phineas was the one character that I didn't really gravitate towards. Now I am totally invested in his journey and cheering for him to become the hero that he has always wanted to be. I think it just took me awhile to understand him. Everyone involved in the Trust has always had an undercurrent of greed. But Phineas (sadly) believed 100% in the program, and wanted to be a part of it to better himself. Coming to terms that something he thought was going make him a good person was actually evil is life changing. But regardless, he still strives to be good. How can a person like that not make you want to be on his side?

I think in some ways he also had that undercurrent of greed. Yes he believes it makes him good but mostly it makes him virtuous. He was in direct connection to how the upper echelon lived and he wanted that and all his good deeds are based on that. He is deconstructing what is actually good from what the trust wants. So, let's not infantilize him. People in systems of power can often see the ways it might be wrong they might just consider it the necessary bad for more good. Or the way things just are.

I remember starting Midst and thinking it was just a wild and random story, with no idea what direction or form it would ultimately take. And while there's still a lot going on and dangling threads that I am struggling to foresee outcomes to, it has really developed into an incredible narrative that has kept my attention.

Can I just say that the audio design and music going on is just so AMAZING!!! Kozma's theme, the Highest Light theme, oh my GOD. Literally gives such an air of gloriousness and grandness. Goosebumps. Every. Time. Good work, guys.

Phineas... I knew he was an amazing character all along, but the the answer to Lark's... Doubts about the his rapid change of attitude towards the Trust just broke me xD And, honestly, I didn't even think he SNEAKED Lark onto Kozma's ship xD And the reaction to mentioning where he could hide... Huh, I guess episodes about Phineas are one of the greatest after all (imo though), outshined only by Weepe's episodes (imo again) :D

I'm gonna tell people I recommend Midst to that it's a story about a righteous man, someone hiding from society and a grand criminal and watch them realize they assigned every description to the wrong character.

@@TheFerrett3 I'm unsure Phineas counts as a criminal and unsure Moc Weepe counts as either a criminal or hiding from society. Phineas is a now fired ad-secla who did something bad and went into breach (can definitely make the argument, but he never went to, or was called to, court) and Moc Weepe is highly valourous and very much putting himself out there, but also, he used to run illegal activity and is very changed, but we don't know how. I just like that the shady business owner is the righteous person and the person being broadcast on the radio is hiding. Though I guess they wouldn't necessarily be wrong about Lark.

Hell yeah season 3! I love Kozma is announced as the baron of all Fold Islets at the Lazaretto, but it's only when they get to the Un in front of the Trust they specify "excluding Midst." Maybe that's a quirk of word choice from the 3 duelling narrators but I like it. Kozma clearly has some respect(?) from the actual people in the Fold, unlike the Trust just owning them in deed. I'm excited to see where the rest of it goes! Part of me thinks the moon really was a natural disaster and the people on Midst are able to rebuild with the mother's help but the Trust crumbles under its own baggage and unsolved problems.

Hang on. What happens to that astronomical hoard of Valor if Lark turns herself in? Seems like it would logic-bomb itself out of existence, with all that Valor going to reward the informant who herself committed the crime. Similarly, what happens if, say, Phineas turns her in, and then immediately uses the reward to forgive her? Would it get annihilated in a similar fashion?

Honesty kozma to me at first felt like she intentionally sabotaged midest but maybe she wasn't actually involved and a goodish person

Well, she's almost as ruthless a capitalist as Moc Weepe or any member of the Trust. The main difference is, she's significantly more honest about what she wants, and the narration makes that even more obvious to us. I don't think she's someone I trust completely, but if I had to choose to live somewhere owned by her or somewhere owned by the Trust, I'd choose her islets every time.
