Hi welcome to Sweden. We moved here over 3 years ago because we fell in love with the beautiful nature. There have been many challenges that we had to overcome. We are a family with 2 kids and we lived a year in a camper. If you feel you need some useful info, don’t hesitate and contact us. All the best Zuzana and Martin Walsh

Best of luck to you all! As a subscriber of Kalle's, I am delighted to hear you've decided to take the leap and move to Sollefteå..! I don't know if there is anything I can do for you, but if you come up with anything, feel free to reach out or put a pinned comment in the comment section or similar..! I'll be rooting for you from my nest outside of Stockholm! 👍👍

@lifeof_guy Ye, that's how it goes here..! I'm planning to move to Norrland with my family in due time - impatiently amassing funds, and then find a job and a house eventually! Don't know if Sollefteå or Kiruna, or anything in between, will be my end station, but either way it's going to be a looong jump back to the North! 😌👍

Welcome to Sweden, I hope you will find a nice home here. KZfaqr Jonna Linton is situated in that area and has a shop in Sollefteå. Maybe Östersund - Åre area would offer better job opportunities for you. Stunning nature and wildlife along the mountain range and several sports and tourism facilities often offer employments there. Just a thought. Best of luck on your journey 😊

I would like to hear what you think of our very very open society, and what I mean particulary is our DATA is free online for anyone to see.. Even what we earn, if we have any criminal recirds etc etc etc... I could imagine it can be a little scary for new people in Sweden, thats not used to it.. 😃

Welcome at first! Sollefteå is kind of midle of nowhere.. however I like it when I is there as a tourist. There is more oportunities in Skellefteå.. becuse Nortvolt building a big factory there.. but then there is ofcourse less accomidations! And I must emfasis how importante it is to get a permanent resident permit, becuse then one altso can apply for a swedish "personnummer", and get a swedish ID-card. Its still this that you have a lot of freedom and benefits being a EU/Shengen citicen.. its rather this that allmoste everything in sweden is set up as one have a swedish ID-card! Its kinda, small companies or local authorities gonna ask you for your personnummer! Its how they use to check that you is you! Its altso to protect you self from identity theft!
@lifeof_guy

Thank you! In the middle of nowhere is good 😉 it means it’s quiet 😜 Yes I have seen that, they need loads of people there. Yes we are aware of that! That’s a thing we are going for to get the personnummer as soon as we can 🙏🏼 We shall need it to stay for a very long time, not an option to stay EU citizen I guess? 🤔

@@lifeof_guy For what I read, the Schengen rules says, one can stay 90 days, as a tourist/for searching for a job/ as a student/to get an accomidation or to by a property or a company.. kinda those things! And then.. you dont get your passport stamped.. nobody know when you enter Sweden.. nobody gonna ask.. if you been able to sustain your self! Students often stays more then 90 days, they aply in many cases for "temporary residentship", one need to have to be accepted for an education for more then 13 months to apply for "permanent residentship"! Then one can apply for "personnummer"/"swedish ID-card"! Its one employer that provide you with documents, that you got an employment! Those paper is the one to send to "Skatteverket", for your resident status! Gues why its "Skatteverket" our tax agency that keep the population register??? Wait there is more, you are a EU citicen.. there is a EU/EFTA and even includes UK healt insurance card, that make you to be able to be treathed at hospitals as any other of there own citicens.. one get that card frome ones national/govermental healt care provider! Show it and your own ID/passport! In anyway.. its this, neighter Sollefteå/Västerbotten/Sverige isnt any kind of utopia.. one need to find a job and accomendation! And even learn swedish.. thats the easyest part, becuse everyone in sweden understand English, the tricky part is to make them speak swedish to you.. so you have to practise your swedish!

EU citizens don't need a residency permit. Just apply for a personal number.
