Dont listen to your friends..because a little village in sweden with a couple of household are more active then a big city,everyone help each other, it's an whole new level of living..love these series..and so glad that could see a new one..and welcome too sweden ❤

When I see video's of people who have moved to Sweden, I get a broader view of our country. Things that we take for granted and do not reflect on more, many are amazed and happy about. One should not take liberties, lifestyle and culture for granted but appreciate and enjoy them.

I grew up always happy and proud of the system we have here. Everyone chips in to make sure everyone has the ability to get health care, an education, bond with their new born child etc. But the amount in recent years who literally claim they get "nothing" for the taxes and spew the "taxes is stealing" nonsense that you hear in the US, all while their parents probably were able to stay at home with time when they were young because of it or you drive on public roads or use public parks etc, is pretty flabbergasting. The amount of "me, me, me" some people exhibit today is almost sad to see when so many before us put blood, sweat and tears into building what we all enjoy today. So yes, I think many take things for granted today.

Creative thinking. Turning the extra house into a B&B. Wish others did that, there is a market for B&B´s now due to the Covid. When you can´t travel abroad. And the extra cash on does not say no to.

Welcome to Sweden! Just a little tip - "ostmacka" is one word. We're having severe issues here in Sweden with so many people adapting the Anglosaxon way of writing things with two words (e.g. "cheese sandwich").

Depends if you find dealing with the dark and cold easy. Most people will find it very difficult.

Welcome to Sweden! Just a little tip when it comes to blueberry stains. They are easily removed by placing the stain over a cup and pour hot, almost boiling water over just the stain. It immidiately goes away. Also, you can get yellow tinge and bananastains away by placing the cloth on the grass in sunshine a couple of days, wear it down with a couple of small stones so it doesn`t blow away!

So… I’ve seen quite a few videos of native English speakers moving to Sweden. 1: Language - I lived in Hungary for close to 2 decades and no one speaks English (not in the capital) 2: Getting a job not knowing language 3: Paying for the house, can imagine having to fly back and forth talking to banks. 4: How do you find a house? Hemsnet, I believe it is, the only site (in Swedish that peeps recommend) * so much for right clicking to translate- IPad will have none of it. So…anything else?

With Sweden being one of the very few countries whose governments didn't become full-on fascists during this pandemic, I expect a lot more people will be looking at living there now. I've only ever spent a few days hiking in Padjelanta National Park, but it was a great experience.

You might have an opinion on that but in the United States we pulled the side of caution rather than fascism like you were stating many countries in Europe happy been polled caution with regard to COVID-19 the death rate in Sweden is astronomical look at retirement homes and other places you’ll see and if I’m wrong show me the numbers please

Countries like France, Portugal, Spain, USA, UK, Italy & Belgium are all developed countries that are substantialy worse of then Sweden in spite of locking down.

@@Zilanto Sweden is the worst of the Nordic countries. The proportional death toll in Sweden is 10 x the Finnish one. After a year of coronavirus the Swedish reckless policy has been a disaster compared to more responsible policies of the other Nordic countries. The worst part is the fact, that e.g we in Finland keep getting contaminated by Sweden.

Naturally I have no reason to twist any knives. I'm only angry of the people STILL not getting it - and of them continuing to spread the virus.

As non Swedish born speaker - English and Swedish Are Real close ! You Have to Have The intrest of learning a another Language ! Make a Decicion to LEARN - sooner The BETTER !

It's only around 15km from a bigger town called Skellefteå, where most people work anyway so I would guess the children in that village go to daycare there.

Job doesn't use to be a problem, a litle bit matter to time and place. In some professionalitys there is a high personal need. The problem use to be finding a home if you need to live in the city, especially if your economy, personal needs and choices says you must/should rent your home. If you can put 4-5 millions (SEK) to buy your home, then your safe.

Why only in Sweden? Everything discussed here applies also to the other Nordic countries. Of course not every municipality is the same. Some are better suited for the foreigners - or your special requirements - than the others.

@@timoterava7108 The reason why Sweden is because from what I have been finding out and liking or a lot of the things regarding Sweden that I really love the other Nordic countries I don’t know but I will have to look at them but I’m just kind of blown away by Sweden their language their culture food and apparently cost-of-living isn’t that bad and I would love to learn the language

My husband, a Ukrainian (oil worker, human rights activist) became disabled as a result of his defense of the rights of other people (Norwegian and Russian media for 9 years). My husband fought corruption in the Russian oil giant, which was headed by the founder of the 6th Directorate of the FSB and the ex-Chancellor of Germany. My husband defended the rights of disabled people and Ukrainians in Norway against Russian-speaking citizens of this NATO country. The Norwegians took my disabled husband to Moscow AFTER: anti-war pickets of my husband in the Russian Federation, his defense of the rights of Ukrainians in Norway, the issuance of documents to my husband by the Norwegian Red Cross for his close relatives (Polish servicemen repressed by the Russians), sentencing his defender to prison (in married to a citizen of Finland for 25 years) in Belarus, who reported the crime of the Norwegians against the Ukrainians and was recognized as a Political prisoner. My husband and his lawyer warned the Norwegians about the coming war, but they did not believe him. The husband was kidnapped and the war began. And after the war began, the Norwegians do NOT admit their mistakes! Unlike the Swedes, the Norwegians DO NOT LIKE to admit their mistakes even when the Chechen refugees deported by the Norwegians were killed in the Russian Federation (Norwegian media).hfrfs

I think they work as teachers. People from the municipality of Skellefteå went to England, trying to convince English teachers to move there. Found an article about them, google "De bytte England mot Varuträsk" and then google translate it.

@@Asa...S Indeed...and how do they do that if they do not speak Swedish I wonder...never mind, none of my business what so ever...I just find it amazing with all these people moving to northern Sweden and starting "new lives"...do they plan on become "Swedes" or is it just an exotic thing to do for a couple of years and then tell to the grandchildren back home in the UK?

@@henriettanovember4733 Everyone in Sweden speaks English, so it´s no problem if you don´t speak Swedish at arrival. If you work as a teacher you will learn Swedish quite fast, from interacting with the kids. There is also free classes in Swedish for all immigrants, "SFI", Swedish for immigrants. For an English speaker Swedish (together with Dutch and Norwegian) is one of the easiest languages to learn.

Funny - I *left* Sweden to start a family. :) Sweden bans homeschooling, and both for practical reasons (logistics of planning to live off-grid in the woods) and philosophical reasons, no child of mine will go to what we today call "school", especially not in Sweden.
