Nice explain but not forget the absolute key factor for fast speed is relaxation. If you want to run really fast you must not thinking just run. I mean you have great knowledge but you thing too much when run and this tight you and kill your speed. If you relax you can run around 0.3 sec faster at 60m from my experience.

@@waddel2843 Why? Cody has a great knowledge of how to train the body, but at a high level this sport is more mental than physical. In final at major competitions, everyone has the same amount of physical ability to win, then things become more mental. I recommend you watching videos from Andy Kidd's channel as well, he's great too for mental!

He talks about this in his videos. I'm not being mean, but he can't always explain everything in one video. If he did, we'd be watching three 3 hour seminars and sermons from Cody. This is just a video explaining something interesting he found.

Great explanation. It makes me wander if these things have ever crossed the mind of an elite sprinter like Usain or Asafa, or they just do their thing.

Hey Cody, thanks for the video, man. Can I ask you what your thoughts are on field turf for doing tempo runs? The advantage over regular grass is that it's smooth, so you're less likely to roll your ankle or injure a meniscus or something. What are the disadvantages, if any compared with a grass surface?

Hi bro, thank you for making these videos they’re great help however I have a question for you… I don’t always have the time to incorporate all these exercises so I was wondering.. If I was to get as strong as possible doing squats and then also to use a floss band to tie around a dumbell to do hip-flexor raises - using progressive overload with it for reps would I see improvements in explosiveness and speed visually after so many weeks? Thank you 🙏🏼

Unrelated to the video, is there any way to track top speed of sprints on an Apple Watch?

Hey a bit off topic but I notice that when I’m running I have a bit of side to side wobbling is that normal

It’s normal to have some. I’d just make sure you’ve got some kind of oblique work included in your training.

Consider measuring your legs. Over time, one leg may appear “shorter” due to accumulated tension and imbalances in the hip area. The body can compensate for this by pulling one leg closer, causing an unnatural tilt in your pelvis. I know a professional sprinter who regularly visited a chiropractor because one of his legs was consistently like 0.5cm? shorter.
