A trap stretched over a simple frame would work. Similar to a what you see on garden swings. I had to run some cord down to the grown with tent pegs on the four corners to anchor it to keep the wind from running away with the canopy but has worked out great so far😊😊😊

We have a pool, its a pain in the budd!! The Labrador's use it more than us 😂😂 And after we had the floods (lot of mud slides) my pools fibre is coming loose And to get it redo well its a fortune 😮

Gary, how about using one of the panels like David did for his rabbit tractor, and add not a tarp, but more of a screen like material. That would deflect the sun, but allow the breeze to come through! ❤❤

I make what I call a 5 cup salad a kid cysts of a can of pineapple chunks, a jar of cherries, coconut, marshmallows, and sour cream. The family loves it . At Christmas I add some green cherries

We had a huge in ground pool for 20 yrs. It is a lot of work w/ daily vacuuming & testing & treating but we used it everyday so it was worth it. The lake sounds perfect. I have never had goats but I have heard they are escape artists. I would ck out Coghill farm to see how they contain their goats cause I don’t want you guy’s to have to waste time chasing goats. ❤️🙏🙏🙏Auntie Laura

We had our above ground for 4 years or so, we would only swim in it for a week or two and then it was it. Algae bloom would take over and it was hard to recover from without an arm and a leg in chemicals and time. Adding in when it was optimal to swim in it we'd only spend 30 mins if that in it. We just took it down this year and while there have been a couple days already I'm like I wish we wouldn't have gotten rid of it. The hours spent cleaning it just to prep it for a handful of swims that season wasn't worth it. I don't blame you guys for not putting it up this year lol.

Getting the electric fence is the way to go for the short term. Cog Hill doesn't have the same challenges as you guys. They put up field fencing and have the equipment to make it an easier install. Plus they don't grow rocks in Alabama like AK does, lol. Don't listen to the naysayers. Welcome to FL when y'all get here. The Gulf water is very warm so will be an awesome time. Just don't forget the sunscreen. If the kids are going to be in the water a lot, I strongly recommend making them wear t-shirts in the water. Will prevent burnt shoulders. Ask me how I know, lol. Enjoy your cookout today.

It's amazing how you guys can swim in ponds and lakes. That kind of stuff freaks me out...the dark water where I can't see the bottom...like, what is lurking in there. All it would take is a tiny stick to rub up against my leg and I'd be outta there...haha.

I agree above ground pools are a pain to take care of. I put a 9x18 rectangular one up for my 4 grandsons but regretting it. To much work. Lakes, streams are more fun. ❤❤ Garden looks good. ❤

Hey Mel and Gary! Pass this idea on to gary for a shade over your swing... 1 inch pvc piping with elbows to create a rectangle. Might consider a couple T connectors in between for added pvc supports between. Shade cloth or painters cloth with grommets to fit said rectangle plus a little to hang over a few inches on the front and back side. U bolts attached at the end sides of the swing and maybe one in the middle. And a 1X6 or 2X6 to span across the top of the swing sets top post. I bet you and gary could make the "picture" appear of what I'm thinking or come up with another idea. Im thinking the U bolts will give it a way to adjust back, forward, or flat. 😎 ⛱️ Hope this gives you a quick easy fix. 🩵
