Poor baby, if she has a fever give her a sponge bath. The water should be luke warm not too warm or cold to bring her body temperature down. Moroccan moms warm up pure olive oil and massage the chest and back. Chicken broth is very healthy for her, the salt will prevent her from drying out, add enough crushed garlic cloves to the broth, garlic reduces fever, it also kills bacteria in the gut and digestive system. Maybe it's something she ate. Also, the moroccan sun can be harsh on kids, always give her a hat to wear. Carry her in a stroller until she's fully recovered poor rumi.

Next time (i wish it never happens again) my friend you should ask the people around you, they may know some doctors living temporary or permannetly there. In Morocco the pharmacists are skilled and they can help, sometimes their helps can be even better than those of doctors.

awwwww I miss it! In the winter just forget it toooooo many people. Looks like you got it on a nice day. First time there was in 2011. Went there for just a day with some Irish in a van. The swell was maybe too big or something the wave was not breaking like it does now. Nobody really there but I thought the wave was meh... What a maroon!

i loved the fish market segment. when i got back to spain i found the rosetta stone of fish prices and types (I went to mercadona & had a look at their fish). You can find Dorado in Maroc, but I don't think those were dorado. Dorado have a golden band across their forehead. They sell some sort of fish in Morocco that is similar. Don't know the difference but they like to call it Dorado but it doesn't seem to be. Dorado in Spain 7.75 a kilo. The flat ones with two eyes on top. Sole. Costs 24 euro in Spain. I don't think it costs near that much down there.

Personally when the fever persists for more than 2 days i know i have a major infection when I have a fever at first I take an antibiotic for maximum 3 days until i see my doctor and there she asks me questions to target the cause and heal it. At home I have 2 types of antibiotics one for internal infections and one for external infections such as an inflamed cavity. It has already relieved me few times. I have the more general antibiotic called amoxicillin and clindamycin for internal infections. Having antibiotics with you can save your life!

You should never go anywhere with a toddler without having a thermomether and Doliprane pediatric sirop with you, a 40°C fever is serious because it puts babies or toddlers (from 6months to 5 y.o) at risk of having a seizure from the hyperthermia, if that happened it would have been serious and scary, then you should have went to emergency. Usually a fever is really common and it is something you can manage at home, keep toddler hydrated, give paracetamol to lower fever, and wait to see the doctor next day, usually it is either - an ear infection and toddler would be complaining about pain in the ears, needs to be checked with an otoscope. - tonsils infection, you can easily check if the throat is red or if there are white dots it means you need to give antibiotics she might has problems swallowing and wouldn't want to eat. - it might be a urinary infection especially in little girls if you make the mistake of wiping from back to front, girls have short urethra making it easy to have urinary infection, and baby would feel burn might say it hurts when urinating, needs a lab test to confirm. - all these illnesses can be accompanied with diarrhea and puking or it might be a viral gastro-enteritis, usually we have a rule that viral infection give mild fevers but bacterial infections give high fevers but it is not always true, ask your toddler where it hurts. Anyway hope little Rumi feels better, keep monitoring the fever and it might be advisable to see "un généraliste" (general/family doctor) in the morning. There are public hospitals in little cities but there are no emergency services at night, as a moroccan and a doctor, i just hope and pray nothing happens if i am in a small city, and to be honest even in big cities i doubt public hospitals quality of care, and if i can afford it i would prefer to go to a private hospital :/ Unortunately, medical care is really a lacking in Morocco.
