I loved Logan. He never indulged her tantrums, and often called her out when she was being a hypocrite. He pushed her to explain things properly as opposed to just being reactionary, and I hate that people say he was gaslighting her when he did that. And to top it off.. Look at him. Gorgeous.

Let’s be honest, Rory didn’t get back with dean after his divorce because she liked HIM. she got back with him because she liked the simplicity her life had when she was with him in high school. She liked the idea of him but I highly doubt that if she’d really thought about it, she could imagine an actual future with him. Maybe it was also the guilt that she broke up their marriage so now she kinda felt like she “owed” him

I think i didn't like Logan because i didn't like Rory when she was with him, but looking back it wasn't his fault she became bratty and annoying.

Omg when I saw the title I clicked on this sooooo fast. Yes, Logan matched her so well. Jess was someone who loved her, but at the time he was way too emotionally damaged to be able to function in a relationship with her. But Logan was entirely different. Sure, he had his faults, but he was the most maturely matched with Rory in both their driven energy and their love for each other. Logan was crucial in Rory's arc, in freeing her from all of Lorelai's expectations and allowing herself to become into her own person. I was heart broken when they broke up :(

I aggressively with pretty much all that you said except the proposal. I just feel like his timing was poor. Public proposals when the couple hadn’t spoken about marriage before is never a good idea. And making her decide on her graduation was a bit of a doggy move. Also their like what 22/23, why was he in such a rush to get married? I just feel like they should have spoken about it and it really didn’t need to be an all or nothing situation

He gave her connections to opportunities but never shoved it in her face, he made sure she was always happy and kept her safe all the time he always did everything for her and her best interest he was the best boyfriend hands-down

Logan was always the greatest boyfriend in the series. He had his flaws, but he owned them and grew from them. The episode where he helped save the paper was one of my favorite moments in the series. He also had me swooning when he showed up at the hospital to support Rory after Richard's heartattack. I also love how what he said about Rory loving school at the party and how his belief that she would return lines up with what Lorelai says to Luke after Richard drops off the doll house. Logan always had faith that she'd go back to Yale, because he knew her well enough to know she loved it. I also find that people don't give nearly enough thought to how Rory kept freaking out and thinking Logan was about to dump her if he didn't call for a few days early on or needed to go for a walk to get his head together after the scene with his family. Yet she thinks a few months later that not calling him for for four weeks after a fight is fine and that Logan should have known that they weren't broken up despite her never clarifying that she didn't want to break up. She had plenty of valid reasons for being upset that he didn't tell her about sleeping with Honor's friends, and he kept apologizing and showed that he was indeed boyfriend material. Also, can we please take a moment to appreciate that not only did he not demand that she sleep with him he sought consent from her before they had sex.

I was always Team Jess (but like, older Jess, when he has his life together more), but recently rewatched the show through with my husband. My husband is now Team Logan. And I have to admit... Logan was really not that bad. He was the best boyfriend Rory had while actively dating in the show.

something i love in rory and logan's relationship is their good communication and how well they knew each other. they weren't one of these couples that in an argument would just yell at each other with no valid reasons. they would always talk it out calmly and maturely. this good communication was missing in her relationships with dean and jess. dean just misunderstood everything and took things so out of context,they had bad communication. jess was so unpredictable, he was one of these people that after an argument would disappear and don't talk to you for days. logan on the other hand was always a gentleman. he always took the first step to approach rory after an argument and gave good reasons to why he did whatever he did. anyways i agree with everything. team logan forever

I think Logan is what we get when we mix dean and Jess together. Logan is a bit of both worlds. Smart, a bad boy with a sensitive side.

when i first watched it as a tween i was fully in love with jess. but when i rewatched as an adult i realized he was an absolutely horrible boyfriend. and i realized logan was only ever honest with her, straightfoward about himself and his boundaries. logan was the best boyfriend.

I feel like the writers just threw in that trip to Vegas and Logan being irresponsible at the end just to cause conflict. I never understood Lorelai’s reaction to Rory taking time of Yale... like she’s an fully grown adult not talking to her daughter because she’s made a decision that she personally doesn’t agree with. Logan was the only person who respected Rory’s decision even if he personally didn’t agree with it and that’s why he’s my favourite. He always supported her decisions and gave the the option to live outside of her little comfort bubble, he was a perfect king and we stab Logan Huntzberger in this house!

I do agree, except for one small point - I disagree that Jess would have held Rory back from her dreams etc. He was always very encouraging of Rory going to college which is why when he turns up as a 'got his life together' adult, he's shocked and questions why she's dropped out of Yale. Considering Jess publishes his own book at such a young age, he's clearly got the potential to be a 'power couple' too. (Dean is the hold her back boyfriend, alone, in my opinion).

One thing about Year in the Life that I love that fits with this? Rory's knee jerk reaction to calling Logan whenever she has a problem because she KNOWS he will always support and love her. It was couched as bad and dependent but I'm sorry to Lane and Paris but Logan's her best friend, her safe place and I 100% believe if she'd just asked him to marry her at any point that year he'd have broken his engagement and married her in a heart beat because he loved her deeply still it's in everything he does in Year in the Life how much he loves Rory and I think Rory's just scared of causing trouble...but I mean even when Logan's dad sits in on their lunch date and is just so happy to see them together. The French fiance is so unimportant we never see her and whathisname Paul. Honestly if anything they were cheating on each other with them.

I think when people say they're "Team Jess" they "cherry-pick" the good parts of him like how he's played by a cute guy and had an intellectual connection with Rory. But they're also choosing to ignore all of his disrespectful, shitty behavior to literally EVERYONE but Rory. You shouldn't be with a guy who's ONLY nice to you. He was rude to Luke (his family!), Lorelai (her mom! If a guy is rude to your mom that's a big 🚩🚩🚩and how about his jealousy and insecurity in his relationship with Rory, picking fights, cutting class so he can't graduate high school, pressuring Rory for sex, and then straight up ghosting her and only showing up when she's in college and begging her to run away with him even tho he has no plan for his future at ALL!!!! Don't get me wrong, I like Jess's overall character arc like how he matured and by the time the revival came around he was ready for Rory but she was a total mess. I just think they're an example of right pairing wrong timing because whenever they do meet up it's either one of them isn't mature enough for the other despite their obvious love for each other.

I do think Jess after he grew up could've been a good fit for her too, but he wasn't when they were together. Logan was SO supportive and had so many amazing times. every time I watch it back, I'm surprised. The only thing that I think was out of character was the "all or nothing" thing at the end...

Honestly while I do think out of all the boyfriends she had Logan was the best, and I would have wanted them to stay together. I think Rory could have really benefited from having more time outside of a relationship, in the series. She went from Dean, to Jess, To Dean again, To Logan, without any substantial break. She didn't have much time in her adolescence to figure out who she was outside of a relationship.

THANK YOU! I feel like everyone is always team Jess, and while I love that Jess got his shit together later, while they were together he was awful. Logan complemented Rory so much better than Jess or Dean and he supported her while also challenging her to keep growing. I also like that while Logan started off as a total douche, when he opens himself up and becomes vulnerable through his relationship with Rory, his character really changes and he becomes a better person. I think he was only a spoiled party boy to cope with the pain of being in such a controlling relationship with his father. Once he opens up and starts to develop trust with Rory in his first real relationship, he matures leaps and bounds and finally sees the value in being accountable and compassionate for another person.

Logan was the love of my fictional character tv-verse. Charismatic, exciting, considerate. I never cared about the other guys in GG except maybe Luke but Logan was truly matched with what was going on with Rory. I just wished they made a better storyline for Logan at the end. I stopped paying attention to Rory's character development because whew..

The only thing that really bothers me about Logan besides his “over-privileged moments” is the public proposal. Honestly, that’s probably also a side effect of the privileged life he lives. I think in his mind that graduating college meant getting married. This seems to be the expectation for not only Logan himself but everyone in his social world. As someone who is used to getting what he wants out of life, he probably didn’t fully consider whether or not Rory wanted to get married because, in his mind it's just what people do. (Not that Logan didn’t Love Rory and want to marry her I’m sure he did, he just assumed that because Rory loved him, she would also want to get married) Just in general, proposing to your partner in public without previously speaking about marriage is not a good idea. I understand wanting it to be a surprise for your partner, but why would you take that gamble? I am so sure that they would’ve stayed together if Logan hadn’t proposed and had just waited a couple of years for them to build their life outside of academia before taking such a big step.

Logan might have started off as a huge playboy, but he actually stepped up and put in the work to be a good boyfriend.
