Picked up an Umarex 17 GBB to practice with as 9mm ammo is kinda expensive right now. Was going to get a 19 but didn't click on the order button and when I got back, all gone. The 17 is only slightly longer (I'll use these highly accurate measurements throughout) and fits all my carry holsters that fit my 19, so I'll be able to work on draw and fire drills. The trigger is a tad heavier on the Umarex then my 19 but I have a 3.5 pound transfer bar on my 19, the volume of the trigger and reset, pretty outstanding and the takeup to the wall, pretty much the same. I've only put a mag through it when I went out to put chickens up and at least at 10 yards I was hitting where I was aiming, will have to work with it. Blowback, hmmmm, well it does rack the slide and it does hold open after the last round. Not quite the same snap but it's something and if you've ever watched videos you'll notice that the bullet has left barrel before most of the motion of the gun starts to take you off target SO if it isn't hitting where you're aiming, why are you yanking it there? Happy with the purchase so far. Hope to set some targets up tomorrow for some trigger time. Stupid covid shut down the range that was conveniently a mile from my house. Ahh well. Now, about this funny orange pipe on the front of my gun.

According to the information I have gathered, the co2 versions internals will be 90% identical and the other 10% will be slightly different. This is due to the amount of kick and power the co2 gives compared to the gas version. Some parts will have thicker and bigger parts that may be hard to notice if not pointed out. Although the mags are compatible, using the co2 mag with a green gas version will damage the weapon in a shorter amount of time due to the smaller parts that it is built with.

TM is heavier just because metal parts are mostly zinc alloys, and VFCs are mostly aluminum alloys.Especially those magazines

They’re here! I know a local shop to me that got these in a while ago, so I knew it was a matter of time before you guys got it. Depending on price, I might be interested some day. I’ve been looking forward to them coming into the country for a while now. Since you’re getting these from Asia modified for Canadian standards, I wonder if the official Umarex/VFC Glock 42 will ever make it here? Of course, it’d have to have a MASSIVE (compared to the small size of the gun) extended inner barrel for velocity regulations, but it looks like a nice subcompact option. I also wonder what models Umarex will have VFC make next, considering there seems to be massive demand for a Glock 18. Regardless of all of that, this is a great video!

yep, the Umarex is definitely the hardest to rack, I thought It was a defect on my gun but guess it is just common on this one model.

Using that extended barrel like a can of WD-40. It does make melee kills easier, though.

Ied like to see this same review with the g19's (as TM just released theirs). Brand new EF g19 vs brand new TM g19 would be interesting.

I could be wrong but the CO2 dubbed "deluxe version" comes pre-equipped with a CNC reinforced slide and other reinforced internals to accommodate the extra power from CO2. Ive been advised to save for the CO2 version and run green gas as itll live longer (in theory). Speaking of, will you guys be getting these in someday?

Since this gun doesn’t have a thread on/in the barrel I think you should take that extended barrel and turn it into a mock suppressor

TM is the way to go!

Traded my gen5 umarex for a new gen3 TM. Why? because the movement in the barrel and slide was too sloppy and you could see daylight between the two. I am sacrificing the metal slide but i can get aftermarket metal slide if i choose.

Hi. I'm new to the airsoft world and fell in love with Glocks (Tokyo Marui and Umarex). I have heard that for storing your GBBs it is advisable to keep some gas in the mags, but never to keep the BBs loaded. My question is, may I leave the magazine inside the magwell (is that the correct term for where the mags slide into in the handle/grip?) when storing, given that there's little gas to keep the gaskets lubricated and no BBs are in them to keep the spring integrity? Thank you.

iv been hearing that the VFC mags are not compatible with TM glocks. there is even a chart online saying they are not but i cant find a explanation why. from my experience the VFC mags fit good and it shoots well. my question is why is everyone saying VFC mags are not compatible with TM glocks??

I've been curious for a while, but does the TM and WE magazines have any gas issues due to an improper seal inside the umarex? SWAMPSNIPER already did a review using CO2, don't use it. It voids warrenty right off the start, and it will break it after 4 mags. This one was not designed for CO2 yet, I am waiting for the next Gen.

Umarex looks cleaner in my opinion. Looks more like the real deal. Plastic on tm looks cheap and in my opinion makes the gun look fake.

Man I can’t decide between the Umarex or the Tokyo Marui

After the long anticipated wait for the glock 17 gen 4 I finally was able to get one only to be completely disappointed. Looks nothing like any of the you tube videos. They send you a crap version in plastic and missing markings on slide. As you can see by the pictures that’s what it looks like after 5 weeks and only 4 co2 cartridges. Colton Gamble in customer service for umarex wants absolutely nothing to do with helping and tells me this is normal. Actually says it’s from a holster.... I guess I use some sort of upside down holster Colton Gamble? If you purchase anything from umarex be prepared to not have that product backed up at all. In fact you will have Colton Gamble telling you it’s your fault. I have many emails of me begging for colton Gambles help and him basically blaming me. Do not buy anything from umarex they don’t care about you. Think about this. It would cost umarex $10 to make this right and Colton Gamble chooses not to. Anyone who wants to see the emails and more pics the gun and paint coming off after only 5 weeks please message me and I will send them to you. I will also help recommend a better product with customer service that won’t make you feel like a complete piece of garbage. Colton Gamble you should be ashamed of yourself
