Joe Bob recounts many of the actors, directors, and other horror luminaries that have left us in the past few years, many without the mainstream attention their passing deserved.
Thanks to Alex Poteet for helping with research.
EDIT: Updated to include the late Robert Kerman and Hilary Heath.

Just 1 more reason Joe Bob Briggs is so important, vital even, to this genre we all love so much. The respect, and raw gravitas shown here, the true love and appreciation, well, it's another reason that to all of us mutants, Joe Bob really is king.

Scott Wilson was a really nice person. I got to talk to him while his wife attended a masterclass by animator Richard Williams. He was a staunch union man active in SAG, fighting for better pay of actors in cable TV movies.

Met Sid Haig and Julie Adams. Both completely different and both really nice to meet. Met Rutger Hauer that day as well. He was traveling to horror conventions on his own dime and raising money for a charity he created for mothers and their children born with HIV/AIDS. He was a sweet man. - Thanks for the thoughtful video.

I almost didn't know that about the Oscars because I never cared about the Oscars. This is important to me though, Joe Bob. What we've got going on here, and it has been for decades. There is so much of these people's work I really appreciate, and thanks for bringing it up. Just a reminder to everyone out there, the people and things you care about are important. If they weren't, you wouldn't care. I know I don't need an Academy to tell me what's what. Venantino Venantini!

Joe Bob, you rule. It's even better not hearing applause as if it's some sort of popularity contest. But there were a lot of deaths I was unaware of, and hearing of them for the first time breaks my heart.

Not only was Bob Cobert important to horror, he was also vital to game shows in creating the iconic theme song to the Pyramid franchise.

Thank you sir for doing this. I’ve been a fan ever since MonsterVision and I’m glad to see you’re back. I agree, it’s something the Academy doesn’t do but I’m thankful you did so thank you again.

This is so nice. Great to finally see many of these people truly honored. The only omission I think is Roky Erickson should be in there. Granted I can see why he's not--he only wrote horror-themed music and wasn't directly involved in any horror films, but...

This is more important than the Oscars which has been spiraling down for some years now when it comes to paying tribute. And when is Veronica Cartwright going to get a lifetime achievement award?

Dick Miller had over 180 film credits. Pretty much anything Corman cranked out through the 60s has him in there. Guy was a working actor.

Not David Hess? Wheres his due for the genre? Wow Joe Bob, just wow. Let's put in John Wulp only if you really know. All these years I thought you knew your stuff besides what was being fed to you from the ear piece but to leave David out shows to much disrespect to the genre. Not cool.
