- Dumbledore would never beg for his life. When he said "please" it meant please kill me. - Harry saving Draco is what helped him at the end with Narcissa. - A Doe was Lily's patronus indeed, Snape's patronus morphed into it too because of his love for her. - Tonks gave birth before she died, so her and Remus' son lives. Harry is actually his godfather. - During the Snape/Minerva duel Snape rebounded her spell to hit the 2 deatheaters and took their wands before he fled. A nice touch. I hope you enjoy the books when you read them, they're really good.

& to add, Slytherin's common room is in the dungeon. That is why they were escorted there. Still a crummy thing to do, considering A; not all of them are bad. and B; some of them even want to defend Hogwarts too. But can also understand not wanting to have to deal with the potential occurrence of Students having to choose between fighting their families and fighting their friends.

Didn't happen in the books because of Pansys comment! Mcgonagle let all the legal aged wizards fight, and basically sent most of the slytherins to protection so that they wouldn't have to choose between their family and Hogwarts since so many of them were death eater kids. @@The_Chaotic_Blade

The third point you stated is not 100%. Most likely but not certain. Anyway I don’t wanna give book spoilers but as book reader you would know that anyway, it’s one of those things most fans accept to be the case but we don’t know what Snape’s original patronus would have been so we don’t know if it was always doe and remained a doe due to his love for Lily lasting until his death or if it changed from something else to a doe.

That is what you get when you have an actor who cares about the material given to them. Helena was so commited to the stuff, she gave Emma all her scripts and let Emma act her parts of the movie, between takes, So she could see, how Emma would play Bellatrix. She studied it and so Helena was playing Emma, playing Bellatrix. It was perfect down to the head tilt. Emma also struggled on Bellatrix shoes, so Helena included that too.

Fun fact. The reason Neville was able to pull the sword, was because he was a true Gryffindor. It doesn't explain in the movies, but in the books, Neville could have been the Chosen one from the very start. He was born around the same time as Harry, and Voldemort didn't know which one was the chosen one. So he went with Harry.

I think the prophecy always talked about Harry but it also partly matched Neville to an extent (to an extent because it matched Harry more. It says born as the 7th month dies, Harry was born on the last day of the 7th month whereas Neville was born on the second to last day of the 7th month so more accurate for Harry.) I see it similar to if I gave a hitman a description of someone but it matched another as well. The description matching that other person doesn’t make the target i chose change but it just shows another target matched the description and my hitman could have killed him instead and chose the wrong guy that I wasn’t talking about, in this example Voldemort choosing Neville who the prophecy wasn’t talking about but also matched (nearly matched to be precise.)

You know, Harry technically used two unforgivable curses during the seventh book, with those moments precisely falling on the events of the last movie. The first one was the Imperius Curse that he used on that goblin to enter Bellatrix's vault (and also on a Death Eater that happened to be at the bank). However (and this sadly only happened in the books), Harry used the Cruciatus Curse on Amycus Carrow (the Death Eater that was teaching at Hogwarts with his sister) after he disrepected McGonagall. It's too bad that one moment was cut from the movies, because it was really satisfying. I mean, anyone that disrespects Minerva McGonagall deserves nothing but pure agony. I think that Harry would use the Imperius Curse if he was in a situation like the one at the bank and the Cruciatus Curse if he went over the edge, but never the Killing Curse, since that one is the most unforgivable one (since it takes one's life) and was also the curse that killed his parents and many of his loved ones.

I do like the whole concept of how the Elder Wand's own mythos fuelled the false belief it could only pass allegiance via killing its current owner. So much so, that even Voldemort fell victim to this false information. When in reality, it could change allegiance just as easily as any wand. It also fits with Tom's false belief anything powerful must be something dark, and the idea the wand only passes by death would galvanize that delusion.
@erikperhs_
@erikperhs_ 10 ай бұрын

thing is; is that Elder Wand actually saw Albus as fully competent and so killing wasn’t even needed. Which is why it stayed with him for so long. It’s also why it backfired on Voldemort when his own killing curse rebounded and hit himself and that’s how he died.

When Ron 'remembers' the snake word for 'open' in the book, he remembers what Harry said to open the door in the "Chamber of Secrets" (which I think would have been a better line in the film). I also loved Snape's redemption arc - such a wonderfully ambiguous character. As far as Severus (and Draco's parents) unpleasant personalities, they were Slytherins lol. As Sirius Black once said, "The world isn't divided into good people and death eaters" - everyone is on a spectrum.

About the patronus of Snape and Lily. In the books they explain to you that basically your patronus is the “manifestation” of your soul in the form of an animal. It can be anything, but if something emotionally deep happens to you, it's form can change. Originally Snape´s patronus was another animal (I think it was a bat), and when Lily died, his patronus took the form of hers (a doe). That's why Dumbledore after seeing the doe as his patronus (knowing that Lily´s was the same) asks him "after all this time?", as in you still have this patronus after all the time that has passed. And Snape answers “always” because he will always love Lily. ❤‍🩹

I’m not surprised but so glad that you are like the only reactor to understand the interaction at the end between Harry and Draco’s mother. For some weird reason every other reactor is confused by that part and don’t understand that she knows he’s alive, asks about Draco and as repayment for Harry nodding his head to answer her (which gives him away) she lied to Voldemort for Harry and said “dead”. It bugs me to no end that no one gets it but I had faith in you. Great job! Great video

I think it's because of how she words it. We know she's checking if Harry's alive and suddenly she says, as if to herself, "Is he alive?" and then, "Draco, is he alive?" as if she's asking her son, who isn't even there, if Harry is alive. She could've just been like, "Is Draco alive?" But nooooo she had to do that weird thing Hermione does where she uses a vague pronoun and then clarifies the subject after the sentence. "Why didn't it work for him? The Elder Wand." "Do you think he would've done it? Draco."

I personally have always felt that although the trio were Gryffindors, they also represented the other three houses, as Harry was part Voldy and therefore was almost placed into Slytherin, Hermione was so smart she could have been in Ravenclaw, and Ron had a lot of things in common with Hufflepuffs, especially his loyalty. I've bingewatched all your HP video's in one day, because I wait until someone has done all 8 movies before watching their reactions, as some reactors take weeks or even months between watching and reacting to the movies. There's two deleted scenes that I wish the had kept. First, Draco hands his wand to Harry right after he reveals himself to be alive shouting "Potter!", bringing his redeeming arc to a close. And secondly, Voldemort's death. Part of the myth behind his first death was the fact that he was vaporized. No body means a lot of speculation. But in the book he died like a man, a simple corpse for all to see, not that fluttering mess of ash which would've reinforced his myth.

If you think back to the first story, Sorcerer's Stone, you can see that the arc for that story is much like the overall arc for the series: it starts with an innocent child and dreams of hus life being more, gets progressively more mysterious, darker, and more dangerous throughout, and ends with a direct confrontation of Lord Voldemort himself. It ends up as if you knew what the conclusion would be, but you never realized it. Well written plot arcs, for sure.

One thing I wish they left in was the scene where Harry rolls out of the arms of Hagrid, Draco runs back over to the other side tossing his wand to Harry. You can see when Draco walks over to his mom, she pulls him close and I like to think she whispers to him that Harry is alive and when the time comes to run, because she knows that if Voldemort wins her, Draco, and Lucius would be killed. They gave Draco a small ounce of redemption in the movies more than the books, but I like that. JKR said that she hates how so many people like Draco because of his redemption in the movie when she wrote him to be a der-antagonist. I also love the fact they had Harry break the Elder Wand, as in the books he kept it saying no one would try and take the wand from him. It left room for someone to take it from him and cause a new problem for them.

Great reactions. Since you gotcha some many details of the movie, I want to share something with ya. The whole story began when Lily sacrifice herself to Harry, which granted him a protection that Dumbledore was able to extend until he was at age, as long as he stayed together with the blood of his mother (Harry's aunt). In Deathly Hallows, when Harry went to the dark forest he sacrifice himself in order to save his friends. Because of that, Harry invoked the same old magic that his mother did in the beginning of the franchise, albeit, for not as long as Harry enjoyed. In the books, this can be seen in the final battle, since the author describe that "Harry's allies wasn't being hit by the the enemy's spells". Neat detail, dontcha think? Also, if you crave for more magic related stories with satisfying endings, react to "The Owl House". I'm not going to tell much of the synopsis, I just gonna tell this: it's worth the attention.

The scene where Snape goes to Godric's Hollow and cries over Lily's dead body is not in the book. At the same time, some of Snape's memories included in the book that are not seen in the film, is Snape apologising to Lily for calling her a Mudblood and the revelation that Petunia wrote to Dumbledore in the hopes that she could attend Hogwarts. When she wasn't accepted she felt rejected by the wizarding world and therefore resented it, which only grew worse when Lily was killed. Petunia pretended to hate her sister when she was in fact just jealous and scared. Harry had realised this to an extent back in the 5th book when he told his aunt and uncle that Lord Voldemort was back. Vernon had no idea who he was but Petunia immediately became terrified, and for the first time, Harry felt something of a connection with his aunt. At this moment, Harry realised that the magical world was more to Petunia than just a bunch of 'freaks'. It was a place that had taken her sister from her when she was a child, rejected her, humiliated her, and later took Lily away again for good. Petunia had tried to escape it and pretend that it didn't exist, but because of Lily she couldn't. She resented Harry so much because he reminded her of all of that. However, she did appear to care for him on some level. In Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Petunia is mentioned as having died a few years after Harry's second son Albus Severus started studying at Hogwarts. It is revealed she kept the blanket Harry was wrapped in when he first arrived at the Dursley's, and after her death Dudley sent it back to him (Harry and Dudley would stay on "Christmas card" terms for the rest of their lives). While it's clear where Snape's loyalties lied, I keep seeing fans argue whether he was actually good or bad. But there is no simple answer because Snape is a VERY complex character. The way he treated Harry was arguably despicable. Even if it was because of James it doesn't excuse it, or explain his treatment of Neville and other students. He was a bitter person and a bully. But, he had played the double agent all this time and he did it all to save Harry, or more specifically, Lily's son. He had lost the love of his life because of his own mistake and hence was remorseful. He transformed and risked his life to save the boy for whom Lily had died. Snape, despite all his flaws, could love. He didn't need to show remorse or feel guilty for Voldemort CHOSE Harry and he had merely told him the prophecy. He didn't directly lead Voldemort to Harry. But the goodness in him made him feel remorse. He could easily have moved on but he chose to make amends. He did not even want anyone to know the truth and he might have died without letting anyone know if he could have. In other words, he did not want to be publicised and cheered for what he did, as it was only done for Lily. His love for Lily and his selfless act towards her son makes him good. The fact that he could love without having been loved makes him good. This next theory further proves Snape was good. Isn't a bit odd he puts up no defense at all when Nagini attacks him? In the HBP Snape makes an Unbreakable Vow to protect Draco, regardless of the danger to his own life. And when Voldemort tries to ask him who owns the Elder Wand, Snape says that it answers only to him. But Snape knows that the wand answers only to Draco. He has been Dumbledore's right-hand man for years and knows exactly how the wand works. Snape sacrifices his life because Voldemort thinks it belongs to him and kills him, but in the end it leads to his own defeat. At that point, Snape was facing a paradox. If he betrayed Draco he would be breaking his Unbreakable Vow. So if it had been anyone other than Draco he could have easily defended himself. But if he had escaped, Voldemort would have discovered the true owner of the Elder Wand sooner or later. So Snape was not only trying to save Harry but Draco as well. Not long after Alan Rickman started to play Severus Snape, J.K. Rowling told him, years ahead of the last book's publication, that Snape had been in love with Lily, and both his protection of, and antagonism toward Harry, came from that. She said she shared that with him because he needed to understand where this bitterness towards this boy, who's living proof of Lily's preference for another man (a man who had tormented him), came from. In the book Harry learns Dumbledore's darkest secret: That he may have killed his sister Ariana, or at least inadvertently caused her death. Ariana had trouble suppressing her magic as she accidentally killed their mother and required constant care and attention. In a duel between Dumbledore, his brother Aberforth, and Dumbledore's friend-turned-enemy Gellert Grindelwald (According to JKR, Dumbledore was gay and in love with Grindelwald), Ariana was killed, and none of them knew who cast the spell that caused her death. Harry and Voldemort's final duel plays out very differently in the book. It is a super intense confrontation in the Great Hall with EVERYONE watching. Harry shares the truth about Snape's sacrifice and the Elder Wand, before using a Disarming Charm to defeat Voldemort once and for all. His death is very human as he drops to the ground and leaves a body behind (they filmed that version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qKx9q7Wnl8DFmmQ.htmlsi=7pYEUvBtE6wlvAbN). I remember being on the edge of my seat while reading this whole interaction. While the film version is more visually pleasing it just doesn't feel as intense or final. It also goes against the original point that without magic Voldemort died just like any other man, and he was never actually as special as he believed. That's probably what I am most mad about regarding the book-to-film adaptations. In the book Harry uses the Elder Wand to fix his and then returns it to Dumbledore's grave in hopes of dying of natural causes, which will leave the wand without a master and cause it to lose its power. While breaking it is surely safer, it makes no sense why he wouldn't at least fix his wand first, since the Elder Wand is the only wand capable of mending broken wands! JKR felt that in order to show the true devastation of war, someone's parent had to die. After briefly considering Mr. Weasley, she finally chose both Lupin and Tonks as it made their infant son Teddy an orphan, which closely mirrored infant Harry losing his parents in the previous war. In the book, Harry appropriately becomes Teddy's godfather. JKR says she always knew Hagrid would survive because she had always had an image of a grieving Hagrid carrying Harry's body back to Hogwarts, which was fitting, since it was Hagrid who carried him as a baby and also brought him into the wizarding world. So it's funny you mentioned that. Before the final book was published, Daniel Radcliffe asked JKR whether his character would die at the end. After some silence, she gave him the very cryptic answer "You get a death scene". JKR has explained why the part of Voldemort inside Harry wasn't destroyed when he was stabbed by the Basilisk fang: Because he had Fawkes the phoenix to heal him. So before he could be destroyed beyond repair, which is what is necessary to destroy a Horcrux, he was mended. Before the scene was shot where Hermione is pretending to be Bellatrix, Emma Watson acted out the scene for Helena Bonham Carter so she would know how to act as if she were Hermione in this situation. So, essentially, this scene is Helena acting like Emma acting as Hermione acting like Bellatrix. If you watch carefully in the duel between Snape and McGonagall, you can see Snape deflect a spell cast from McGonagall, purposefully killing the Death Eater twins the Carrows behind him. This foreshadows which side Snape was truly on. Voldemort hugging Draco was not scripted but an improvisation by Ralph Fiennes. Tom Felton's reaction of not knowing what to do is genuine. When Harry reveals that he is still alive, Draco was meant to betray the Death Eaters by throwing Harry his wand. The scene was filmed but not included in the final edit: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJydZ9mmucXUfXk.htmlsi=sYwtYueHmVskPSdD. I am still mad they didn't keep it in (or Harry and Dudley's interaction from Part 1). If you really want to cry: In the scene where Harry reveals himself to be alive and everyone reacts with joy, if you look closely at George you can see him turn to say 'Fred' before remembering that he is dead. Harry loses the ability to speak Parseltongue after Voldemort kills the Horcrux inside him. Harry and Ginny's kids' names are Albus Severus, James Sirius and Lily Luna. Ron and Hermione's kids' names are Rose and Hugo. In the book, Neville and Luna unfortunately both went on to marry other people but in my mind they ended up together.

Draco was not a bad guy, he just had a bad father. He saved Harry in the manor because he recognized him but didn't say it, he never wanted him to die... He was disgusted by Voldemort, so did his mother who also saved Harry's life too because of her son. I also love these characters... Very interesting. For sure, Neville was brave, as all Harry's friends. Snape always showed people he was frozen, but he was the crazy lover for life for Lily, he spent his life alone and died for it, ready to do anything to protect her son. That's freaking and pure love, even after death. I love the way Harry understood that and gave the hommage back calling his own son Albus and Severus. Something pointed out was that the Resurrection Stone didn't bring loved ones back to life, it only created mimics to convince the person to welcome death. Since the stone was created by Death to try and take the brothers, he let them believe it was their loved ones. James saying "You're almost there" and Sirius telling him that death was "Faster than falling asleep" was never them.

The brother who died for power (Voldemort), the one who died for love (Snape), and the one who greeted Death as an old friend (Harry). Such brilliant writing from J.K. Rowling. Such amazing symbolism and layers.

Tonks had the baby before the Battle of Hogwarts - Tonks and Lupin had a son, Teddy. Raised by his grandmother, Andromeda Tonks (sister of Bellatrix and Narcissa, cousin to Sirius) and also raised by his godfather, Harry. Teddy basically is a member of the Potter/Weasley family 😊

Loved watching your journey. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the anniversary! Hopefully you do get a chance to read the series, there’s truly so much more to the story. I will say, as a Ravenclaw, I’m secretly hoping you’ll get sorted there too 😝

What a beautiful, fun, emotional reaction ride! Loved how intuitive you were throughout the films. You really paid attention to small details and understood character emotions. Have fun with the books! I absolutely love the films but of course the books are their own experience to love!

I really like watching your reactions, because you're really clever, and what I mean by that is that you're not just passively watching the movies/reacting but actually thinking and trying to understand what's going on, and it's cool to see that most of the time your assumptions are right (you're good at deciphering what was meant for the public to understand/see). Keep up the good work !

Exactly this. Other reactors worry more about the reacting part itself, where this guy actually focuses on the movie and tries to understand.

Oh god im surprised you are sooo freaking good at figure it out things!! You may become one of my favorite reactors!! So good! ❤ It is weird to see someone notice the thing about the wand and where its loyalty really is, or Dracos mother thinking, but it was a surprise seen you figure out things throw the movies. Same as hunger games, love it!

I’ve gone through the books dozens of times. I’ve only seen the last two movies once, because of frustration with what was cut. I wouldn’t even watch HP reactions. But having stepped away from the books for two years and watching it with you, I’ve been able to recognize how much of the book they managed to keep in. We’ve enjoyed watching them with you!

One cool detail that’s in subtext: the only two people who successfully lied to Voldemort’s face did so out of love for someone. Snape did so out of a love for Lily and her memory. Narcissa did so out of a love for her son. Super cool because the one blind spot Voldemort has is love. He cannot feel it and does not understand it. Whether it’s direct or just a cool metaphor I don’t know. But it does show the themes of the series of “love conquers all” Voldemort is the most talented mind reader alive. Yet a simple loving mother was able to look him right in the eye and lie, because she loved her son. I love this series and the layers of subtext and metaphors.
