Virgin Atlantic has taken delivery of the first of 12 A350-1000s at Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse.
Named ‘Red Velvet’, the aircraft will be deployed from London airports on trans-Atlantic routes. The first commercial service will be from London Heathrow to New York’s JFK airport.

Alongside greenhouse gases, aviation emissions contain fine particular matter (PM2.5) and precursors of ozone (O3). PM2.5 and O3 have both been linked to an increased risk of premature death.

The economics from the A350 against the A346 will be so good, senior management at VS will end up slapping each other for not booking earlier slots on the A351 deliveries. That said, congratulations to all the stakeholders for believing and delivering an aircraft that on paper seemed so good to be true but it has supparsed Airbus's promised economics and Rolls Royce promised SFC (Specific Fuel Consumption). All rise for the Red Velvet (Lima Uniform X-ray)
