He is -----------WAY MORE better than I expected. His movements seems actually fluid, powerful, and-as rare as it gets nowadays-looks like he actually knows how to put up a fight, not just doing forms mindlessly. He moves like a 20 year old, impressive.

this guy is legit !!! he is blazing fast and he clearly understands every move he does, not just the form in a show ! look how relax his movement is and how he changing angle, changing height, his hands also circle a lot to trap/lock/block... he also a mastered calligraphy which old school kungfu usually emphasizes !!! a hidden real grand master right there. You guys need to go back and learn as much from him as possible, a real kungfu grand master like this is so rare in a sea of modern so-called "masters" today !!!

Not only this sifu has high level of conditioning and understanding of internal and external movements he also revealed alot secret theories, concepts and applications which are a big no go only teach to insiders in asian martial arts, a rare gem nowaday.

Looks incredibly practical. Seen practical footwork, flowing strikes (bit fancy but still looks really practical), good balance and speed, slips and dodges, concepts of countering grappling.

The first thing many noticed is his level of energy and excitement just talking about his Kung Fu. What's also interesting a lot of his principles is what I hear from my Sifu in respect to basic southern Kung Fu. He new just from looking at the big westerner he would have to account for the long limbs and size.

Chain smoking is essential to good form.

Southern Luohan Quan(Incense shop boxing in particular) definitely needs more coverage.

This GM is a triple crown right there. Classical masters know martials arts, healing arts, and calligraphy.

He seems to "fill the space" just like incense would, and even has some wispy movements. Sometimes incense's power is in it's subtlety. Very interesting!

A Kung fu master who knows how to heal is definitely old school, what he is doing takes years and years of training, no bs

Master Lin reminds me of an old master of Southern Dragon style I saw perform in NYC’s Chinatown decades ago. He had similar explosive power with the use of bowing the thoracic spine for power generation except Southern Dragon style was more compact, not as expansive as Incense boxing. Master Lin’s comments on expanding the body and use of kwa is reminiscent of the baguaquan I have learned, supposedly derived from luohanquan. Great video!

First off thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this wonderful journey your on through southern China and finding it’s hidden Kung Fu masters. I absolutely love all of the videos that you share regarding these top level masters and seeing these amazing styles I would have never had the opportunity to see and experience without your generous and passionate KZfaq channel. I was really interested in the method the teacher was describing regarding how to open up the shoulder blades as well as the kua. I have seen a number of other high level masters put a lot of emphasis on opening the shoulder blades using specialized training of late. Unlike opening and closing the Kua which I have been familiar with for many years, having open and loose shoulder blades to that extent is quite new to me. When the teacher kept mentioning the power coming through the rounded back I was really hoping you or your traveling buddies would have asked if that particular movement or energy is the same as in TongBei which I know also uses very similar mechanics. I believe Piqua also has that in common. Anyway keep up the great work, and I look forward to your next videos. I wish you continued success in your training, and pray that you and your fellow travelers stay healthy throughout your journey.

Super Interesting video, what a passionate master, the neck adjustment was interesting too, I thought his calligraphy was great, very similar to his martial arts frenetic, but when he was adjusting your neck you could see his focus, control and intensity in a new way

there is a profound humane quality in this master, like all people who suffered a lot ( communism), it is touching, he seems eager to give and connect, beautiful rare find !

A lot these southern styles with the standing still fighting and close quarter combat with mostly upper body movements were developed from fighting whilst standing on small boats up and down the rivers and coastlines, if you want to unlock your hips like he was suggesting without the ten years of training get ta large inflatable ball, big enough to stand on, put it in some water and try standing on it.

You can really see the moves that got passed down to karate. All kung fu share the same rules. Style is just something dull or dangerous done in a refreshing way.

Could you guys make subtitles for the stuff the sifu is saying?

Master Lin's teachers? Lineage? What is his profession? Nei gong in the system? Or hard gong like shaolin styles in the beginning years? Does master Lin u understand neither gong as a propelling expulsion energy through his meridians that would hurt from a 3..4 cm distance,or more like an enveloping strengthening air-like elements t or force that binds his body prospectively on impact?

Are there any other southern Luohan styles except Incense shop boxing in Fujian that you had a chance to encounter with?I can't find info on other Southern Luohan styles on the net.

Shoalin Luohan fist, there are long fist and soft fist presence in the video. How about the short and hard Luohan fist, which is knee and elbow sticks .

U can the Okinawa ryukyu masters s karate are similar also like the sifu s style
