Over the last couple of weeks landlords and property incorporations have been in the headlights due to the news outing Property 118 and Less Tax for Landlords, with claims that their offering isn't fit for purpose and has left many landlords in a worse position than before.
My view has long been that these companies are selling schemes to landlords and that if and when HMRC become wise, they will recover whatever tax advantage has been obtained.. with penalties and interest.
However, a vanilla property incorporation is still a legitimate tax planning tool and something my firm do for landlords all over the world to help them legally reduce their taxes.
Whatever you do, ensure you are working with a qualified professional, a Chartered Tax Adviser, or at the minimum a chartered accountant.
