The Panasonic TX LZ980 is a great value 4K 120Hz TV for gaming, taking full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X performance. You have two HDMI 2.1 ports to hook up consoles or gamer PCs, one of which supports eARC - so Panasonic's LZ980 is a solid option for just over £1000 in the UK. This TV comes in 42, 48, 55 and 65-inch models.
A big thanks to Panasonic for sponsoring this video! You can grab your own TX LZ980 television by clicking here: services.internetbuyer.co.uk/...
If you have a PS5 or Xbox Series X and you want to really make the most of that power, you need to get a dedicated gamer TV. The excellent ports, 4K resolution visuals, plus HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support as well as Dolby Vision IQ, all contribute to the impressively lifelike picture quality. Those graphics on supported titles look beautifully fluid too, with 120Hz support and VRR.
Stuffed inside is the innovative AI-driven HCX Pro processor, so the Panasonic TX-LZ980 can dynamically enhance the visuals. While the Game Control Board menu allows you to tweak the output to match your games. Ideal for PS5 or Xbox gaming.
Panasonic TX LZ980 Chapters:

1:37 - Voice control

I don't think they are, they are just more popular amongst purists who want picture accuracy for movie watching rather than gamers. They are now onto the MZ series of OLEDs and they still lad behind on the gaming side of things. and I say this as a Panasonic fan (still rocking a Panasonic LCD from 2015)

I have the jz980 and it's brilliant. The only thing that sucks are the smart tv features, they're terrible, but paired with a fire stick, it's a fantastic combination. I have a bright front room, but I like watching movies in the dark at night, and it keeps up with all of it.

I blame Panasonic for making me miss out on new TV tech for 10.5 years now. I bought a 2011 model TX - P42G30b Plasma TV in early 2012 working for the Olympics at an end of line clearance in a nearby Curry's, boxes of them half price, and the screen just gets better and better. The picture and colours are fantastic. I think the SD and FHD signals improve over time. I also bought a PWT - DMR500 BD player / HDD recorder the same week and it's still serving me extremely well. With a Chromecast 3 or my new PC via HDMI I have the lot (a specific wifi dongle was extra). It's FHD only but I won't get a better picture. THX colour mode works best, though Hollywood inspired mode is ancient history now. Come on Panasonic! What have you gotta say for yourselves. Call this built in obsolescence? 😉 Mind you, it hasn't moved from it's spot in all that time. I took great care transporting it sealed in the box, but I think if I move it now those gases will create a fuss. I would definitely buy another Panasonic, and I check stores displays all the time. 48 inch sounds nice as they're lighter now. I won't though because I don't have 1000 pennies to rub together, let alone .... Amazing what you can get for sub £1000 these days.

@@YavNe THX was a picture mode setting recommended and tailored by the film industry as being the nearest to how scenes were shot,or some such. Different TV screen tech now. I think Panasonic is one of the only to feature several formats including HLG as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ Adaptive (new). There were a few movies on Blue Ray that had a THX test or calibration tool on the disk. I used to be follow TV forums and reviews (HDTV Test is still good), but that's all I remember.

I was able to get a 50-inch Panasonic plasma TV before OLEDs took over and stopped making plasma TVs. Aside from the remote, which my children used to frequently confuse and ruin, my plasma TV still functions well and outperforms modern LCD TVs. And now it seems like it's time for an upgrade to an OLED TV after 13 years, and I will unquestionably go with Panasonic because of its sturdiness!

THX mode is now Filmmaker mode. And this screen easily blows any LED or plasma tv out of the water. Especially since your tv doesn't support HDR or Wide Color Gamut which makes all the difference. You won't believe your eyes when you see 4K Dolby Vision on it.

I have a large DVD collection, some of which are 4:3 letterboxed. Does this have a full screen zoom mode to stretch the picture to full screen both horizontally and vertically? My existing Samsung only stretches such DVDs vertically over HDMI, not horizontally, resulting in a distorted image or having to make do with a tiny picture in the middle of the screen.

Oled is grown/manufactured at a specific factory sheet size before being cut down to market sized panels. 42 creates more wastage in the current process, until the new south Korean facilities come online. So for now smaller cost more to make per unit than larger panels. Research oled factory methods to find out more.

This TV has two limitations, it does not go that bright, so if you use it in a well lit room it can struggle, and as expected, the internal sound quality is not great, so budget for a good soundbar.
