Wow! Thank you Wanderbot for making such a great video! This demo will be publicly available on the Steam page within the next few days so be sure to keep an eye out for it. I've already made several improvements after watching this video including a shiny notification when you discover a resource node. I'm glad you enjoyed playing this early version and am looking forward to seeing you play more!

Love the crank drill. It's such a novel idea for the lowest tier of automation for a game like this.

This looks really good. I tend to stay away from most automation-type games because there seems to be a difficulty curve that may be too steep for me, but it seems like this one starts out nice and slow. Thanks to you, Wander, I have this wishlisted. Hoping to see another video of it a little further along.

Reminds me of a game I don't remember the name of. But it was a side scrolling automation game too that had harvesters you had to crank at first too. Basically you were in a radioactive post apocalyptic world, build a base/factory underground and defended it on the surface against zombie hordes coming every now and then. Had to build colonist pods and feed them and so on. But can't remember the name... but this feels very familiar to that one.

@@frankpork7665 TBH I didn't actually like it much in comparison to other factory games. Automation systems were just too unwieldy to be fun to tinker with.

That cranking looks weirdly satisfying. It also reminds me a lot of Apico, which had different minigames for all of their machines. And in a funny (?) coincidence, the next game the Apico devs are working on is a side scrolling automation game, as well (called Snacktorio).

If your talking about sonic clone game there is "freedom planet" it look so cute and even thought it is a clone it does create a desire to play it.

I was specifically referencing Freedom Planet there. Sometimes it works, and works well, but for every Freedom Planet there's a whole slew of decent games that none of us have heard of because they just don't stand out.
