My 2nd bike was an Indian Scout (not the 60). I think either Scout model would make a good first bike! I would recommend new riders to learn on bikes without technology aids, makes for a better rider and you learn to know your own limits.

Thanks for watching! The Scout is an awesome platform to learn on and can be very rewarding as your first bike. I just sold a 69 cubic inch Scout to a first-time motorcycle buyer and he's super happy with his decision to spend a bit extra and get a bike he can grow alongside.

This is helpful for me, as a new rider, I'm just listening in on the feedback. The handlebars is what caught my attention. I'm short and my arms as well. I'd have to see and sit on in person to really make that decision but this model sure does interest me.

Indian does offer reduced reach handlebars if you're concerned with being able to reach. You can really customize the scout platform to be set up ideally for your dimensions.

@@digidrum2003 In Pennsylvania we have free motorcycle training classes offered by the state. If you take the class you "graduate" with a motorcycle license. It is part classroom, part riding in a huge parking lot. They provide the motorcycle. This class was excellent. I would definitely suggest taking a class first, even if not in Pa. Then just start slow. I bought it last summer and tried to ride a little each day. I don't ride in the rain or bad conditions. I found back roads and just rode. I am getting more comfortable now. I have been on the highway a few times. I don't love that but it is nice to let the engine rip. These bikes are powerful. Mostly I drive 40 miles per hour on back roads though. I also feel comfortable because I bought a nice helmet and boots and a jacket and gloves. So at least I am a little protected from road rash. So far no spills. Mostly, just enjoy.

@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
Hey there, a solid question with reasonable concern. The Bobber (and the scout platform altogether really) is going to have you pretty cramped. You might be able to swap a set of extended reach handlebars from Indian's website to help a little, but your knees are likely going to be above the tank when you sit on it and the bike is going to feel small no matter what. For your height, I'd recommend an Indian Chief. It's a slightly larger frame motorcycle and it's only 100LBS heavier. Your height is going to be the biggest challenge for these low-slung cruiser motorcycles. One option you might look into is the Vulcan 650 S from Kawasaki - They offer the ergo-fit option for the platform at no additional cost through a Kawasaki dealership when you buy new. It's a beginner-friendly motorcycle that will provide you with more comfort, which will give you an overall better riding experience. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching.

I'm 72 years old and been riding for almost 60 years. I currently own a 2022 one of these (Quartz Gray) and a 2018 CB500F. The Honda would be a better entry bike but it has too much butt for a lot of beginners. So I agree to disagree. The Scout Bobber 60 ain't no beginner bike. I like the bike especially since it doesn't have rider modes. Wish it had a fuel gauge and cruise control since it's ride by wire but I installed an Atlas throttle lock. Well, enough rambling. I still like your channel.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
Hey Jerry, appreciate the input. In terms of cruisers, there are definitely some better options out there for beginners from the Japanese OEMs. In terms of what Indian Motorcycle is offering though, this is somewhat viewed as their “beginner” or “entry level” motorcycle since it is the most budget friendly and lowest CC available. It definitely provides more than enough power for its chassis though, which can be good for teaching throttle control/discipline. The flip side to that is the abundance of power can increase the chance of punishing a new/beginner rider if they are not paying attention and respecting the throttle. Your continued viewership is appreciated. Always appreciate some intelligent feedback from viewers with first-hand experience. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe. 👍

Howdy Omni, you mentioned this wouldnt be as great of a value for a 2nd or 3rd bike and to look up the ladder a bit. Is that advice for cruisers only? Ive been looking at the scout sixty bobber for awhile. It would be my first cruiser after riding solely sport bikes (ninja 300 and zx6r). Should i aim up the ladder? Thanks for the review!
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
Hey there Astro! The bobber sixty IMO is a bit of a lateral move when it comes to it being a 2nd bike because it's such a beginner friendly motorcycle, but you can still romp on it and have fun with it. Since you asked for my opinion, I think you should go for the standard Scout Bobber. I did a video on that one a while ago that's not edited quite as nicely as this one, but showcases some of the performance difference between the models. It's got a bit more power and uses the same chassis with minimal differences aside from a few cosmetic bits as well as engine performance. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and ride safe. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNJprdOntrWXk2Q.html

I love your videos man!! But I have a question I’ve been stuck between the cfmoto nk300 and nk650 I live in the middle of pretty much no where and I takes 30 mins to get anywhere. To go anywhere I have to take highways where speed limits are 70 to 75mph. Should I go for the 300 or should I just go for the 650?
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
For what you described, the 650 is the best choice if you want to stick with the NK series. It would have a far better time handling highway speeds than the little 300NK. However, the 650NK is a very old design paired with a fancy display. In my opinion it is over-weight and under-powered in its class, and CF already produces a better bike for just a little more moolah 💰 Personally, I’d recommend you go for the CL-X 700 instead. It has cruise control, 2 throttle modes, and it weighs less. Only $300 more for the standard CL-X, and for $700 more you could even get the CL-X Sport with Brembo brakes. Hope this helps.

Over here in Waynesville, MO, on a Yamaha Bolt. I'm considering a Scout or Chief. Any thoughts on the Interceptor or Meteor in comparison to the Scout or Chief? Thanks for the Scout 60 review.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
Hey there Waynesville! IMO, The Scout would be a diagonal step from a Yamaha Bolt. Slightly forward, but also slightly lateral since weight/power are staying in the range of the Bolt. I think a Chief would be the most logical next step if you were looking to upgrade since it is a true middleweight. The Interceptor or Meteor will both be much more relaxed engines that are not as rowdy, and provide a very basic riding experience. They're not the most thrilling motorcycles in the world, but they are very simple and mechanical. I've actually reviewed both on my channel if you want to get some more insight. Thanks for the great question! Ride safe.
