Excellent news. Now Kaveri is progressing step by step. It was good decision to give the manufacturing of the engine to the Godrej. Kaveri has already given good results in high altitude testing in Russia. Subsequently, Godrej was asked to manufacture the prototypes. Now, we have dry Kaveri ready for certification to be used on the stealth Ghatak UCAV which will add huge combat capability to our forces.

This is good development that our own Kaveri engine is going to be mounted on a fighter plane for evaluation, once it starts trial there will be chances that these engines or its varients can power India's future fighter jet programs, Also we have gretor negotiating power while making deals for foreign engines, foreign OEMS will fear that if we do not transfer critical tech India is going to master it on its own sooner or letter, that fear will always be there... But greator development will India has all the critical infra to develop, test, redevelop all parts of aerospace engines and we don't have to depebd on friendly nations for the same

Our scientists have done a miracle getting Kaveri program to this flight stage. Avg cost of engine development program in West countries with decades of experience is 20 billion dollars. China has invested 50 billion in engine development. India has spent 500 million on Kaveri. We don't even have all the test facilities or a flying test bed.

I'm gaining hopes that soon we will hear more good news about Kaveri engine, and India will be self sufficient in this most complex and critical technology. Because, recently India is asking full ToT on Rafale and other bidders in recent negotiations of buying figher jets under make in India, which show confidence gaining from Kaveri updates..

Do you really think comments like yours would do any good ? Obviously you need to know a thing or two about jet engines and the complexities involved. The bottomline is no one and I repeat no one is going to hand over the technology to us. We have to do it on our own, however painful it may be, whatever time it takes.

It is like telling a child....very difficult to become a cricketer who can play for India. So do not play. We all know the advantages of child playing... Similarly we have made lot of progress in making a engine. We should put more people and put more money to have it working. Should chalk out a program for 20yrs. We Wil fail but we should have it. It will Increase the knowledge and the money is always plowed back to the ecomony
