Great Sir. Until 920 AD Tamil was there in Kerala.In Kulasekara Raja period Malayalam was formed because Kulasekara was a Tamil scholar and also in Sanskrit. His son Rajasekaran was considered as an Alwar.We should understand that Adi Sankarar is not a Malayalee but may be a Tulu. Musiris was a prominent world famous harbour until there was flood in Periyar river in 1341.

The term 'Tamil' itself is the transliteration of 'Dramila' in Sanskrit meaning "adjoining the seas" or the southernmost region of Bharata (India) adjoining the ocean. The term 'Chera' in Malayalam literary history is the appellation of 'Kerala' in Sanskrit and Kerala was one of the Kingdoms of 'Dramila' meaning the southernmost region of Bharata (India) along with Pandya kingdom and Chola kingdom since known indian literary history including Kerala records.
