Hi finally you post from Indonesia, i waiting so long time now.. we meet in Jakarta city 2 months ago in Tanah Abang area, i didnt know who you are from beginning..i was that guy from Turkiye and Sweden. Everybody is so friendly in Indonesia. And so delicious food so many different Indonesian foods. Hope you enjoy your trip in Indonesia. I promise you wanna come back again. @@danendraabyantara2931 Apa hubungannya biasa ketemu sama bule??? Di Jakarta malah dulu ada pemukiman khusus bule di depok, makanya ada sebutan bule depok. Jadi orang sini udah biasa aja ketemu bule, malah terkesan cuek. Gua pernah liat video bule yang bilang lebih ngerasa nyaman ada di jabodetabek, karena dia kaga jadi pusat perhatian kaya di daerah.

Glad that you’re exploring betawi food. Despite being from the capital, its cuisine is practically unknown for most Indonesians, except for soto betawi which is quite popular nationwide. 9:59 sorry, Arie, but if soto betawi is the queen, then soto banjar from southern Borneo is the empress regnant of the united kingdoms of the universe and the commonwealth of intergalactic realms 😂 Sorry, I know I’m biased. 41:01 hawker centers are literally a whitewashed bullsh*t LOL Before the late 1960s, Singapore used to have REAL street food culture like the rest of Southeast Asia. It’s understandable the need for regulation as they’re a tiny nation and it’s something that’s uniquely Singapore, but I’d rather take it to the streets to find the best food in Indonesia, just like in Thailand or Vietnam and the rest of true-blue Southeast Asian countries. 49:49 you assumed that the laksa is going to be a noodle dish, because that’s the narrow definition that they have in Malaysia and Singapore. In Indonesia laksa can be with noodles, rice cakes, fish cakes, etc. In Indonesia you can find laksas that’s sour and spicy like Penang Adam laksa, we also have coconuty ones like Singapore katong laksa, but they don’t have the laksas that we have here. I’ve made a couple of videos on several types of soto and laksa in Indonesia, that should give you an idea about the endless variety of dishes that we have in Indonesia instead of our neighbors who basically just borrow dishes from China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand and have nothing of their own 😜

@@wenderis Soto medan is OK, but I’d admit that I like laksa bagan better than laksa banjar 😄 Coto makassar is definitely up there, but if we’re talking about sotos I’d probably go with the ones from Java, either tauto pekalongan or soto blora.

@@KilanEatsandDrinks Pekalongan and Blora at Central Java. At East Java, the famous soto i think is Lamongan..coz waroeng Soto Lamongan almost been there in every city in East Java. That's why Indomie make variant in their noodle with Nusantara Flavour, specially "Soto Lamongan" flavour. Btw, sorry for my bad english.

@@coolestgangsta7164actually Betawi is Malay dialect but mixed with Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Sundanese, Javanese and little bit of influence with other local languages in entire Indonesia, this language is formed during colonial times in Batavia 😅

@@wahyuukrs9851 Karena sebenarnya Betawi bukan suku, tapi komunitas. Betawi campuran dari berbagai suku yang datang ke Sunda Kelapa (kemudian menjadi Batavia), makanya kebanyakan keturunan Sunda. Berbaur dengan etnis asing (kebanyakan Arab & Cina), kemudian memunculkan kelompok dengan adat & budaya baru yang kebanyakan merupakan hasil akulturasi budaya.

Tips dari saya: kalau mencoba masakan baru sebaiknyna dicoba secara orisinil dulu tanpa pakai sambal dan cabai, ini basic mannernya di jepang juga btw, kalau ada masakan tuh harus dicoba rasa orisinal nya dulu baru klo udah dicoba dan dirasa kurang cocok mau dimodifikasi silahkan, karena kalau belum apa-apa langsung dikasih banyak sambal kaya gitu sama aja gak ngehormatin yg masaknya(dah susah2 ngasih variasi rasaa bumbu jadi dipukul rata dengan rasa pedasnya aja yg dibuat dominan).

Betawi technically is 'new' tribe in Indonesia and more like Indonesian Mestizos. Cuz they're mixture of native Indonesian (some says Malay, some says Sundanese), Arabs, and Chinese Hokkien by culture and even genetics. They're also speaking kind of Malay Creole, sounds like Bahasa Indonesia (cuz BI is derived from Malay too).

Betawi food I also love is gabus pucung, because gabus fish is famous with high protein people would love to give it to someone after medical operation. And husband would give or search it to his wife after labor aw 🥰 people would also love to find it and give or sell it to the new parents or people in recovery 🚣🎣 but it's hardly found in Jakarta nowadays you should seek on the outskirts of Jakarta like Tangerang or Depok

Indonesia is majority moslem country so it's easy find halal food especially in Jakarta, non halal food in Indonesia can be identified with many sign on the restaurant such as Non Halal, Tidak Halal, mengandung daging babi/B2 (it contains pork or Bacon), etc or you can ask the vendors for details:)
