Hi friends,
Sorry it has been so long. This channel is a hobby of mine so I often want to take breaks from it. I decided to make this video because of the amazing comments and responses from the Hirasawa fan community, and because of the shocking event of Miura's passing. I made this video as a tribute to him because his work means so much to me, and without him, this channel would not exist. I was introduced to Hirasawa's music from the 2012 Berserk film adaptation, so it is thanks to Kentaro Miura that I even listen to this music. Both his work and Susumu Hirasawa's are a source of inspiration for me. I included 3 of Miura's Berserk volume covers at the beginning of the video as part of the tribute. May he rest in peace.

I feel bad for Hirasawa, having to witness Miura passing, after witnessing Kon passing. It is a burden that he must carry on their legacy with his music that lives forever with the fans, but I believe he does it gladly, since he is such a caring person. I was never a fan of Berserk, but know it only peripherally, but it is a shame that so many great artists die young in Japan. I was a huge fan of Satoshi Kon, and it kills me that I will likely never get to see Yume Miru Kikai, an anime he was making to honour one of Hirasawa's songs by the same title.

Aparently this is someone asking "Indra" (the king of the gods from hindu mythology) to protect Guts (the children of darkness) from his cruel destiny.

Good observation. Indra is also the god of strength and war, thus "someone" is asking indra whether he hears the soundless voice (of guts) who is calling him in the night, when guts is fighting against the abyss. guts is calling on to strength during his fights, so the author is praying to the god of strength to "protect" guts, meaning grant him strength, both physical power and mental fortitude. As an orthodox hindu myself, this certainly sends shiver down my spine!

I think Indra in this case is a representation of Guts. Someone is asking for Guts (which he calls Indra) for rescue.

@@zephyrr108 Indra's strength is overwhelming not something I would compare to Guts which is like comparing an Ant to an elephant Indra slays Asuras(negative godlike beings aka the god hand ) and Demons(the spiritual offspring of asuras) turning them into pure energy and destroying their bodies from the inside so no there not the same. RIP Kentaro Miura, rest in power and may your legacy live on. I also got introduced to Hirasawa's music through Berserk and it saddens me that he died so abruptly but such is life

Making these videos is like bringing to us a god's work. Please continue making these videos when you have time, It would be great to see more Susumu Hirasawa songs with it's lyrics and translations. There are sooo many good songs by this incredible artist, definitely one of my favorites. Great video, thank you. Got yourself a subscriber.
