That's a good question. The matchup is very tough for USARF, and I think for them to have a shot they need to play more aggressively, and to an extent get a bit lucky. Assuming I can't change my opponent's list, just his play, in his shoes I'd probably elect to go first and push the grunts aggressively to the tohaa side of the table. If they fail, they fail, but they potentially give early attack options or at least threaten the tohaa player's deployment flexibility and might draw elements forward that otherwise would defend against Van Zant. Going first, the reserve drop then becomes the Maverick AP spitfire. With mimetism and MSV1 it's the best piece in the ariadnan army to force the various tohaa overwatch pieces down, and it needs to deploy in a location where it isn't pinned back by range (and especially the nikoul). From here, it's a matter of just getting a bit lucky. Your attack elements need to make a breakthrough somewhere before the tohaa player wins a F2F roll and you start sustaining casualties. Pheroware is going to be a pain, but there's nothing much for it but to push through. If I could change the list, I'd prioritise the inclusion of; - Hardcases (who play the role of the 'Ariadnan Fiday', hard infiltrating like the grunts but on better numbers and with camo, and who can't be pinned in by libertos minelayers thanks to being camo markers themselves) - The Unknown Ranger or a Marauder MSV1 piece, just for a second gunfighting element that can comfortably engage Nikoul and Sukeul overwatch. - Desperadoes (mostly as downgrade options from more expensive pieces, but they are very good generally, and if they can get in under the overwatch, they can trade very efficiently into small triads) I think there's also a lot of merit to Devil Dogs generally, but maybe not into the tohaa matchup with multiple viral weapons specifically. That could go either way.
