Inflation slows more than expected in June

Labor Department data released Thursday showed the annual inflation rate cooled from 3.3% in May to 3% in June. That's lower than the 3.1% rate some economists had projected. Jeanna Smialek, Federal Reserve and U.S. economy reporter for The New York Times, joins CBS News to unpack the report.

@@amaddenmind4597 Of course some items are still going up to sustain the economy. But most thing are cooling down. Gas in my area are down and other items are too. Thing will get a lot better from this point on. Comparing to last year we are in a much better shape.

Dude the prices are still Rising 3% every month. The only way that prices of goods are going to go down is if there is deflation which is what the FED does not want

Your headline suggests that the increase in the rate of inflation fell dramatically because “some economists” expected the increase to be slightly less. The actual increase in the rate of inflation still is bad. Moreover, the actual increase in the rate of inflation for individual families might be substantially higher depending on what they buy.

Trump 2024. Drill baby drill that's the only thing that's going to bring us back to deflation. Inflation is rising still month-over-month at 3%. That means prices are still going up every month and they're not coming down. It's just the rate of How High it's going up. What you want to see is deflation if you want cheaper goods and services

Consumers are expectiong DEFLATION, starting with Food & Energy Prices. Let Deflation lead the economy Growth. after that increasing productivity also decreasing minimum wages, so in the long run equilibrium expectation between prices and wages.
