What are the best skills to unlock/inherit from your emblem rings in Fire Emblem Engage?
Passives are not created equally, since the well update, some passives completely change the game, others are just ok/situational. Who will come out on top as BEST PASSIVE?!

loved the tier list !! would you ever consider doing something like a team comp/build review video or series? We could submit screenshots from in game or a google sheet of the units we use, their class, emblem, weapons, and inherited skills?

Great video as always.I agree with your meta game analysis. I have 4 maddening clears and one build I think you should try is mauvier reclassed to hero with Michaia and dual assist + and levin sword. He becomes a heal bot with great chain attack range and can do some decent magic damage in a pinch. Great utility unit

You forgot to mention Blue Skies +. When the Erika user is engaged Gentility and Bravery is combined for all users giving them attack +5 AND incoming damage -5. This is great if the Erika user is a Martial Master or a brave weapon user because that means they will be engaged for most of the map. This makes the Erika user also a party buffer depending on the team comp. I think I would bump up Gentility to S tier because of that.

@@yf4453 They generally hit their opponents 4 times. So you would get roughly 3-5 engage bars every combat if your opponent can counterattack. The meter usually gets completely charged up after 2-3 combats.

Feel like favorite food is at least C tier. Giving it to your Byleth user then having the ability to get another goddess dance after using sedall to restore their turn after eating to give your units another turn is pretty big I feel.

It could be ok for that, you can't chain goddess dances unless you engaged a few turns in advance so your engage ends on your next turn to favorite food into it again via dancing. A similar result could be achieved by using a brave weapon and getting hit twice though

One issue with favourite food is that you need to have less than full up to use it. Works well with the Celica ring, since it has a self damage mechanic. Otherwise, my mages are mostly never enemy phasing or take hits

Plus can’t you only get one meal per map? Since Celica gets it for free having it on another unit means she can’t use it.

i happen to really like alacrity, even on maddening ive seen alear able to proc base alacrity on a lot of mages and mounted units, and its really made the difference allowing him to one round without taking damage from the counter attack. not game breaking, but i'd personally put it at least in B

Alacrity++ inherited with Eirika ring equipped on a Flashing Fist user is insanely good actually, ensure you can kill your target and never get hit.

Alacrity is nice but it’s player phase only id put it in the same tier as perceptive in a game that most of your kills come from enemy phase I’d pass on it

@@MasterStacona considering you can get like 3-4 kills on enemy phase with one unit compared to getting one kill per player phase on a unit I’d definitely say it’s heavy enemy phase game

@@ljthompson3011 because the game is so short ranged, next game when they have mage cannoneers and stuff pelting shots at you that you cannot enemy phase it will make the game player phase focused since you actually have to aggress on the enemy

Bow Focus IS MASSIVE to hit those endgame Swordmasters and Griffin knights, its a must for Fogado imo

I grab it without thinking for warrior Etie every time. It really helps offset the lower dex of the class relative to sniper, and it's so cheap it barely slows her down from getting to dual assist+

But wouldn’t you want Hit + every-time you run warrior to help with axe AND bow accuracy instead of just bow since axe hit rates are so bad???

⁠​⁠@@SwissCheeseMannor you could just run bow knight etie. Helps fix her speed and accuracy at the same time. Warrior is good for the units who need strength fixing generally the 30% strength growth crowd but that’s the thing etie doesn’t need help with. She’s one of the few units with good strength. She will be hitting her damage benchmarks her problem is the everything else. Or alternatively if you wanna settle for using Lyn on her which you would probably end up doing on warrior may as well boost her astra storm range in sniper. Warrior doesn’t really improve etie enough to be worth the seal considering her base class line helps her with her biggest flaws significantly and warrior doesn’t so it adds new problems to solve that were not there before in order to double down on improving the one attribute that doesn’t need fixing and most the cast wants to be reclassed and a decent chunk of solid units want it way more like kagetsu just begging to be in anything but sword master ideally wyvern

A fun build would be hold out+++, Nosferatu on Hortensia and have her as a utility unit who can survive anything and give her holy stance++ for extra damage. Her love defense makes it so that the enemy deals high damage to themselves. Not sure if it is the most effective, but it is alot of fun.

Healing light is at least good. Letting your Qi Adept chain guard into heal, and back to chaining without having to use a vulnerary is great.

Between quality time, curious dance, glowing tiles, fortify staves , miciah aoe healing, Veronica fortify . Early game it has a niche use but mid game and on its non existent

You can get Deidre Bond Ring which gives you free heals and perma chain guards every turn

@@ljthompson3011 Quality Time and Curious Dance don't heal enough. (Chain Guard takes 20% of Max HP. CD heals 10% and QT only heals 10 at max.) Glowing Tiles are limited. Fortify Staves are limited (also really? Fortify just to Chain Guard?). Veronica is DLC (which isn't being considered for this tier list). Micaiah is the only counter point here... but that's just using another healing to heal the healer.

@@123christianac if you want to use healing light go for it it’s one of those things I thought was good when I first started playing the game but completely unnecessary there are better skills imo And no not fortify just for chain guarding who would do that usually after a round of combat there are multiple units that need healing and if a qi adept gets caught in the heal cool lol

@@123christianac as far as I see it you could beat the game without inheriting skills in the first place so they’re just complimentary to what you’re trying to do I personally prioritize skills that one round enemies or increase survivability past mid game healing light isn’t something I look at and think to myself “dang, I wish I had that skill” and chain guarding isn’t something I play around nice when it’s there but not integral to my play style

Arms Shield++ is kind of funny to me actually, considering that I had it inherited to Framme. I learned that since Martial Masters have weapon advantage over all ranged weapons, you’d be able take 7 less damage from all ranged attacks, and I was right lol. Only problem is she can’t counterattack at range, but Elsurge and 1-range daggers are niche yes, but not a problem at all for Framme

On ch 25 or bow team maddening run. Found that leif is great with alcryst bonded sheild on dmg boosted mini bow for up close and longbow/silver bow. Player phase uses lunar brace, enemy phase uses solar brace or whatever the flat dmg buff is with luna

Luna/gentility is really good if you have your eirika user enemy phase tank its almost always blue skies eclipse brace. Both of those skill should be high s tier when proced. Speedtaker is deffo the best skill in game but limited to 1-2charas only but its really all you need in maddening.

Resonance is actually mostly there for the Echo engage ability and combos with the spell Nova, which has a Brave effect and only 5 base might. Using Echo and Nova with Resonance’s +3 damage, assuming you have enough speed to double, will yield 8 attacks with +3 damage for each attack, for a total of +24 damage. It’s not something you’d inherit simply because it’s already on the emblem that has Echo.

Tried to do a favorite food build with my bonded shield qi adept framme but the problem was she would never take damage unless i attacked someone with the fists. Then at that point i would be building up meter anyway

So overall there isn't much I would change in this. The main thing I'd argue is putting Draconic Hex in S tier for the sole reason of completely negating certain bosses. Like Evil Alear on Chapter 24 in theory should be a really hard and difficult boss, but because they only have 1 range weapons, draconic hex just immediately makes them irrelevant and you can just attack from 2 spaces away and not fear them revenging you. Also, this is specifically for the fell xenolouge, but tome stance (i think thats what its called) is kinda broken in the fell xenolouge because every enemy is corrupted so you just get insane bonus damage all the time. but again, thats in a very specific situation so it still probably belongs in C tier, but its arguably A or S for just the fell xenolouge imo

Maybe it is just bias or my playstyle, but out of 3 runs, advance has been used all 3 times and it never felt like a waste. With the fact that a lot of units have 1-2 ranges, I find myself ending turn just outside of their reach, and advance closes that gap, especially to mages and archers. It also ignores movement debuff on special tiles, so one more plus. 500 is also low enough that it doesn't feel like a loss when it inevitably gets replaced in end game. Mainly because you spend a ton of sp putting one good skill on them, that you end up not being able to afford another, so I just default to advance.

divine pulse actually synergies well with the micaiah ring, since the chances for it to activate increase with a higher luck stat (which micaiah emblem raises). it came in clutch on my maddening run ch 21 when i was able to entrap zephia thanks to DP activating and made the rest of that chapter extremely easy. sooo imo divine pulse definitely A tier, or B tier at the bare minimum

I get that Panette crit builds aren’t your thing, but I just want to talk about enchanter being broken for a sec: weapon surge gives you +20 crit on axes. So you weapon surge an engraved killer axe, she gets hit once, and she’s at 100% crit with wrath. I’m running Rafal right now, so I gave him another killer axe since his passive also boosts crit. Slap speedtaker on them and they’re a perfectly fine choice for bonded shield enemy phasing, and will kill things instantly on player phase. Honestly, isn’t 3x damage from 100% crits better than 2x damage from consistent doubling? I’m half joking because it’s not as flexible at all but it is very fun

i'd definitely advocate for dual support on alear - it's much more cost effective than avoid+30 in terms of SP and simutaneously much more efficient and this enables units like alear to just sink into the ground and be unhittable while proccing their passive on an adjacent bonded shield unit

I barely use most of these skills besides Canter, Spd + X, Weapon power. A few underrated skills: Favorite Food. Give it to whoever is the Byleth user, getting another Goddess Dance active fast is great, you can intentionally take dmg by standing on a Corrin Flame tile when idling. It's super cheap 200 SP for Alear or Yunaka Bylethbot. Divine pulse+: this works even on staves like Entrap, you can turn a 0% Entrap on like Micaiah in her paralogue to suddenly 70%+ chance and cheese the map. Not all bosses are immune to Entrap, you can even Entrap Sombrero. It's fairly cheap at 250 or 500 for the + version compared to +30 hit absurd 2500 SP cost. A few skills that I don't know if you would inherit it. Speedtaker, usually +5 spd is already enough to reach important doubling benchmarks, whoever equips Lyn already gets speedtaker. Inheriting it on more units puts a strain on the player, as that means you have to feed more units a kill every turn to even match +5 spd. Another advantage to Spd + X is that you don't have to spend 2k SP all in one go, you can first buy Spd +3 for 500 SP and later upgrade it to +4 and +5 spd after you cleared the easy Lyn paralogue and farmed enough SP. Dragonic Hex, it's too expensive and it doesn't help one rounding. It's good against bosses, but whoever has Corrin has it for free. Dragonic Hex doesn't stack. So having more than 1 user feels redundant.

maybe if youre going to type out an entire novel, maybe look up what you're typing on and on about. Speedtaker gives you PLUS TEN speed with five stacks. You get two points of speed per take down. So much for your calculations.

I assumed we already know that, so I didn't wrote what every skill does. it starts at +0 spd and you only get to +10 if you killed 5 enemies in player phase with the unit with speedtaker. you only beat +5 spd after the 3rd proc.

for Eirika passives: Moon mode is damage based on enemy DEF as bonus damage and flat damage reduction Sun mode is healing based on a % of damage dealt during player phase and flat bonus damage And engaged mode gives both. Moon mode is S tier and Sun mode is B tier. That damage reduction and insane damage boost is wild!

Your sleeping a bit on divine pulse, yes the bond fragments cost a lot but it’s dirt cheap for sp and it basically makes you never miss. I’m running it on pannette who has a around 55% hitrate with Ike engrave on brave axe and it rarely doesn’t activate. Her luck stat isn’t even good so I would image with a high luck rate you would always proc it

So I rarely use armored units. Do they stay at 4 move after promotion? If they do advance might be okay for them over other units The other thing I noticed was with resolve+. I know you love ike on timerra so you likely didn't notice, but I prefer edelgard on timerra, so inheriting resolve+ on timerra is +7 damage toward sandstorm. So having her inherit it and use a different emblem (edelgard/maybe hector or lief) its def a big help

In that case I can see a genuine case where putting advance on a general can work out pretty well due to the fact that it's probably the best movement tech they're gunna get. Canter on generals helps, but only after the fact. So I can see advance keeping a general in the frey with all the other 5 move units. Then I suppose you could canter on top of that, but there are definitely better options. Did you see my edit regarding timerra? I think you'll like it :)

How do you even inherit bravery and solar brace? I check Eirika inheritance only gentility and lunar brace available to purchase. Are we getting bravery as well if we purchase gentility and solar brace with lunar brace?

You get both when you get Gentility, the Eirika user switching modes also switches other units

@@IcedCoffeeGaming I see, that complicates things if you have several units running lunar brace and gentility. I think the pairing is a bit weird too. Gentility should be paired with solar brace and bravery with lunar brace as one is more defensive and the other more offensive. I guess the developer make it like that to make oir lige bit harder

@@yohanes2034 Gentility and Lunar brace are already pretty good on their own, but I think they are best utilized when your Eirika user is engaged and turn them all into Eclipse Brace & Blue Skies so you get both sides for 4 turns and turns all your physical units into super carries for the duration. You can also have your Eirika user get favorite food so you can basically get a super army with Eclipse brace & Blue Skies for 8 turns and have a super army. I think there is definitely potential in an "Eirika Team" where most of your units inherit Lunar Brace / Gentility.

hi, if i want to inherit axe 5 for rosado, I need to have the bond lvl of Roy of the skill on Rosado right ? lvl 5 isn't enough ?

You will need bond level 10 for rank 3 Axe Power, and rank 4-5 are higher. Also Roy is sword power, Ike gives Axe Power.

Why is Bravery and Solar Brace in this video? Unless I'm missing something you can only inherit Lunar Brace and Gentility and can't switch without Eirika equipped.

When you switch modes on the Eirika user it switches Gentility/Lunar Brace, engaging also gives those units Blue Skies

Using a dragon vein definitely triggers Quality Time, I run Corrin on Yunaka for fog spam and she quality times every time. Time with Yunaka is quality time every time my guy.

Brave Defenses is from marth lol :P which u seem to know but said "from ike" at first haha. I think Unyielding is actually terrible. It sounds good on paper, but when I ran it (on most of my units) on maddening. (You know, in its "environment") it literally did nothing. It may have procced like 3-5 times at most. And maybe was what Id call "useful" at like 1-3 times maybe. Useful being "Oh, that unit has HP now that I couldn't heal on my player phase, nice." Otherwise I just healed on my own, making the skill pointless and a waste of skill points lol Divine Pulse is also essentially Staff Mastery except basically better. Anytime you want staff mastery for hit fixing, you should just go with Divine Pulse+. Ive used Pair Up a few times, and it essentially allows your "true tanks" like your general or great knight to sit at a choke and never get chain attack'd to death, which can be good for holding off an entire group of enemeies until youre ready to deal with them. Also, crit Panette is incredible, even on maddening she can solo half the map for you lol And yes, on enemy phase, so shes nearly a second bonded shield all in one unit. Thats insane. You can have one real bonded shield on one front, then Panette on the other and everything dies.

If you like or have no problems doing so getting Reposition as an inherit skills means you can just spam it in a map without pulling a boss and go from level 10 bond to 20 bond in 1 map with any character, save you a ton of Bond Fragments, personal preference though.

No, I just believe most of the passives in C tier are just too situational to be considered always good, or they are low impact. Distribution of a thing isn't guaranteed to be balanced or similar to a bell curve.

I’m not really good at this game but isn’t build + being slept on a little? Enabling slower units to not get doubled and faster units to one round easier just seems like the most useful thing in this FE. Not to mention bld + 3 is cheap at 500 and can be gotten early game and is useful on every combat unit. I just in theory don’t see any downsides. I ask because I just reset my run and I’m about to put it on a few units.

Divine pulse needs to be higher. Insanely cheap to inherit, and it affects offensive staves. I always run it on ivy and i never need to use engraves specifically for her because of it. Dont sleep on divine pulse

This basically feeds in to how damage dealing units should be evaluated these days. If a unit, up to the end of a maddening run with endgame stat creep, cannot consistently reach one round benchmarks (62 phys attack with non brave, 45 phys attack with brave, your one unit with Corrin engrave, 56 Magic Attack, 37 speed) even with both skill slots dedicated to stat fixing: Unit = Bad. This benchmark is for non speedster enemies so not Wolf Knights, not Swordsmasters, not Griffins, not Wyverns. You should ideally have a unit that's also a super speedster to deal with these types of enemies (Already fast unit with Lyn/Speedtaker), but speaking in a more general case. So I beat the game once, and I'm on chapter 23 maddening on my 2nd run and I only just learned that these inheritable skills are not passive skills you can get by equipping emblems....ugh.

It's extra confusing when you consider that the stat bonuses the emblems give you are almost identical in all cases to the state bonuses you can inherit. Then there's Edelgard giving +4 dex randomly as a hint.

Dual Assist is S Tier for me because it works with knives. Everytime you get a Dual Assist, you get one more poison.

If Lindon's personal skill weapon Insight (if units weapon is of a lower rank than foes, gain +20 crit) was on a more physically oriented units, than Killer Edge, sword power combos would be insane!😃

Momentum is C ? It's good damage, often more than power skills early on Hit +N and Divine Pulse are not bad, maddening hit rates are pretty low Advance is really useful, it's a cheap skill that can give you a lot of utility Wtf would you ever inherit hold out or vantage ? Both are situational skills that only come up in (pretty bad and unreliable) enemy phase builds. Just equip the relevant emblem on whatever poor soul will have to rely on this shit Canter and Reposition should be right there at the top of S with speed +N. Those are the most powerful skills that you will inherit on everyone 99% of the time. Speedtaker is mid and constrains your gameplay too much Draconic Hex and Dual Assist are also too low. Those are almost mandatory and extremely powerful skills that make your life much easier Power skills are fine in S but still a bit expensive, even with the well. Realistically only 1-2 of your best units will get them at high level, and they are only worth it if you commit hard Mentorship is ultra filler but D tier is too low. It's splashable on a juggernaut who will get a level lead anyway, and works on arena XP

I would put speed +5 in C tier, but above Build +5 You only get 2 custom passive slots and there are much better passives to run over speed increase. I rather just give someone a ring that gives speed as its stats and make use of better passives on the character. Also, avoid +30 is B tier, you really only need one dedicate dodge tank and one true tank like a General, and the dodge tank is solved with a high speed user on a fast class with Micaiah engrave; like Lapis on Wolf Knight using a Micaiah engraved silver dagger and a passive that gives +10 avoid just for standing next to any ally and has good supports for even more avoid. Give her Lucina ring and call it a day, frees up room for other, better passives to run.

@@IcedCoffeeGaming Lyn you want on 40% or higher STR growth characters, Lucina you want on a wolf knight for the poison chain attacks, Marth you want on a physical unit, i stick byleth on Alear and make better use of a Levin Sword, but still good for the physical side... So all the speed rings you want on physical units, except Byleth that moves over to Veyle when you get her
