@@bartgoins1782, traitor? There was no declaration of war, and Robert McNamara, before he died, admitted the whole Vietnam thing was an experiment in political science. Surprising to absolutely nobody was that the Domino Theory, about how all of Asia would turn communist if Vietnam fell, was complete bullshit. If this country got screwed by anybody it was by Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon.

I was having a really hard time due to the spinal fusion ans other problems dropping weight after the triplets . He just wanted to comfort me. I've met many celebrities (From Dayto a beach and MTV, BET, and other things always brought celebrities, then later meet and greets. Only one other celeb just sat and had a tête à téte with me. Just wish they had been around back when I was in. 1985-89 USS Constellation CV-63. We use to have a lot of big name acts put on concerts for us back then in San Diego. I can't say I have ever even seen a photo of Gary Sinise with a sailor. Doesn't mean there isn't one out there just that I haven't seen one. I can personally attest to his kindness. One of my friends is a gold star widow. The kindness he has shown to that family is immeasurable. He keeps in touch with all of the kids. When the son entered my alma mater, Texas A&M, he sent a card wishing him well. This is after years of sending the kids of gold star families to Disney World every year. God bless him.

He’s just amazing. He’s not doing any big movement and advertising himself at all he’s just going tup to each veteran personally and helping them and their family through their pain as long as he can

What is a gold star family?
@rgrinnel
@rgrinnel 2 жыл бұрын
@@timunknown6724 Started during WW1, families with serving military members displayed a blue star. If that member died in battle, the blue star was replaced by a gold star. This was displayed as a banner in the window and with lapel pins.

His reaction when the Col walks in, shows that none of this is for recognition but that he does truly care about what he's doing. Gary is a great actor but an even better person, we could all learn a thing or two from him.

Yep, bawling my eyes out. Yet, thank you for showing this and raising awareness of what our protectors go through. I'm a nurse and have seen the effects of trauma and PTSD. We need to do everything for veterans.

As someone has been paralysed and recovered before it hits me with more emotion than most other circumstances when I see someone walk who couldnt, I'm very proud of him and have a lot of respect for everything Gary has done for troops, Forrest Gump is my favourite movie and the fact he still does things related to a character he played 30 years ago is simply fantastic.
