"His voice doesn't necessarily stand out as a Superman voice." In both Injustice games, Superman was voiced by George Newbern, who has voiced the character in animated form for over 20 years. In fact, he voiced Superman in many of the same DC Animated Universe projects where Kevin voiced Batman. So yes, when I close my eyes I hear the same Superman I've heard since I was a kid, just as the same is for Kevin and Batman.

He also voiced the one winged angel known as Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, Dissidia games and kingdom hearts for a good while until they unfortunately casted someone else for the role.

I think it's important to remember that a lot of the characters in the injustice universe were given a Kryptonian drug that used nanites to strengthen them both in defense and physical strength to stand a chance against Superman. It was shown briefly in the first game, but not really mentioned in the second because I'm assuming the creators expected everyone to remember that as the reason the characters are able to fight much more powerful beings

Yeah exactly, like in the comics, Batman and Lex Luthor worked together to make it right? If I remember correctly, that helps fill the gaps in the game, but it's weird that there was no mention of it in the sequel.

@@Lava91point0 it's Kryptonian technology that Superman was going to use to empower the regime, but Batman found out about it and stole a sample of it. Then they were able to reverse engineer it I think. I don't remember if Lex and Batman worked together to do it, but I know it was originally something Superman was going to use

Honestly, I thought it was a temporary thing and the effects wore out after a while I cant imagine what that other universes batman has to deal with with a super-powered Joker since he got the pill too

@@darthrevan5976 I believe it is temporary, they just take more when the effect wears off. If you take too much at once though, it'll kill you. Overwork your body.

@@Lava91point0Superman and Lex made it actually, Green Arrow died in the process when trying to obtain it. He was task to located the prototype in fortress of solitude, unfortunately superman‘s adopted parents was chilling there, by the time that superman got to The fortress of solitude, he was enrage thinking that green arrow and couple other heros was going after his parent instead of the pills.

George Newburn is pretty much THE voice of Superman, and has been since the Justice League cartoon in 2001. The only other actors to voice him secondly, would be Tim Daly, and maybe Nolan North. Aquaman here is mix of comic blonde and regal haired, mixed with gladiator warrior designs from the 90's and early 2000's, and the tatts of Mamoa's. With a personality that matches the monarch side more (That Phil LaMarr used in Young Justice). This is very true to character, while DCEU's Aquaman is just Underwater Mamoa... but drunk, enjoyable to a degree, but which for a adaptation, isn't it.

It still breaks my heart knowing that this will be the last Injustice game with the late great Kevin Conroy as Batman. I would’ve loved to have seen what he would’ve done with Injustice 3.

@@chinitoli Basically, Diana was like the guide for Superman to go down the path he did, because in the injustice universe she was betrayed by by a guy who was a nazi spy and vowed to never allow or show empathy towards anyone, so for her subjagation is order. And at the time when Superman was at a low she basically fed him all that tyranny shit and because he just lost Lois to a literal madman (Joker) it was easy to corrupt him, and see that the tyranny path is the just path

@@chinitolishe's a warrior and she was pushing him towards her way of justice, but it wasn't just her. She even was forced to fight him by her father Zeus. Sinestro(yellow lantern) also helped corrupt both him and green lantern and the other heroes were either scared, lost someone when Metropolis blew up, or even sympathize with Superman.

I think it's a really silly idea to make the injustice world different from the good one as we know it where you know, Aquaman and wonder woman were also good rather than indifferent or angy towards humanity

Aquaman in this game is closer to the comics than Jason ever was. They portrayed him as a dudebro in his solo film and while they somewhat dialed that back in Snyder's: JL, it was still purely Jason's own portrayal. While, he isn't this much of a stiff in the comics, he is just as badass and a hardened leader of Atlantis, as one would expect. Have to remember that sometimes, the portrayals of these characters in movies are not one for one from the source material.

The fact that they’ve somehow managed to avoid the Kryptonite-based super pill, amazes me. I (and many others) have commented many times throughout both injustice series trying to nail the point of the super pill that gives all heroes near-kryptonian level strength, thus allowing battles with almost any character.

Regarding the abrupt ending, all characters have their own ending in both games so you should check them out to get more of a closure

I kind of don't understand Jaby's argument about Aquaman. Just because Jason Momoa Aquaman was at the same time as the game was coming up doesn't mean that the voice actor for aquaman should sound like Jason , I don't know I personally don't care about such stuff maybe because I don't teally have a problem with separating the game verison from the movie version of comic book characters

Injustice 2 also started development long before Jason Momoa premiered as Aquaman on film. The graphics really hold up but I don't think they understand how old this game is at this point.

The reason the big moves aren't happening is because the opponents health is taken to zero on the first hit, sadly the rest of the move doesn't happen if there is no more health left.

To be fair even when you plan to do it that way sometimes the computer opponent just won't cooperate lol. I think the focus of this was just to upload the cinematics but yeah it would have been cool to see him do every super move.@@bombird8813

14:50 You forget they got the super pill in the last one. That stuff doesn't wear off. Batman is roughly as durable as Superman right now so he could take it from brainiac. I can't remember if it augments their strength as well but even being just a durable makes a difference because then he can throw punches with all his strength and not worry about having to keep from hurting himself.

This game is such an amazing experience for what they did with the material, especially if you're a big DC person, but even if you're not. That one scene with Bruce and Clark reminiscing before they fought was more emotional and better acted than the entire Batman v Superman movie.

37:33 That comment comes from, what I can only assume, a lack of exposure to past Justice League content. The actor who voices Superman in the Injustice games, George Newbern, is the same actor who voiced him in the Justice League Animated Series and the Justice League Unlimited Animated Series, so he's done the voice for years. Back when Superman had an Animated Series (prior to JLAS and JLU), it was a different voice actor - Tim Daly. There's been a looming question for years among fans of who has the better Superman voice, George or Tim. A lot of people say Tim Daly, because technically he was first. I really like Tim's take on Superman but there is something about George's interpretation that I prefer more.

Okay, I have to say this now. Batman is literally one of the most dangerous heroes in the dc universe. You have only seen him in realistic settings like The Batman and Dark Knight trilogy. In comics, he has defeated tons of beings above his pay grade plus here Batman has that Kryptonian drug combined with Batman's combat prowess he is very much capable of taking down almost anyone here.

The reason that you don't see the full special move in fights is because the initial contact of the move does enough damage to be lethal to the enemy, so the fight just stops once the health is gone.

we definitely need an Injustice 3 cause the way it left on this cliffhanger opened up new possibilities to introduce He-Man, Darkseid, Apokolips, New Genesis and the other Lantern Corps in the story

The title “World’s Finest” has been used in books. But most iconically it was a title of a 3 part episode of Superman The Animated series. Later made into a dvd feature film. The first time in the DCAU combining the two shows. Kicking of The Batman/ Superman adventures time block on WB. It was just reruns of The New Adventures of Batman and Robin and a new episode of Superman the Animated series. They even crazy brand new opening for this, composed, incredibly by the late Shirley Walker. It is probably my favorite theme in the DCAU. Favorite female, right up there with mask of the phantasm.

As you have discovered, there is not only Green Kryptonite but also many others each with its own color and effect. Green Kryptonite: The most common, it is fatal to any Kryptonian, causes severe pain and can lead to death if exposure to its radiation is prolonged. Red Kryptonite: Created when a meteor shower of green Kryptonite passed through a strange cloud of red gas, it causes one of many unpredictable mutations on a physical and mental level in Kryptonians, aging, rejuvenating, giving extra limbs, turning into animals, more or less intelligence, sex change, can alter Superman's emotions, etc. The effects last from 24 to 48 hours, and the same effect is never repeated. Apparently, each piece of red Kryptonite could only affect a Kryptonian once, requiring another piece for a new (but never the same) effect. Blue Kryptonite: It has the same effect on Bizarro that Green Kryptonite has on Superman. Black Kryptonite: When a Kryptonian comes into contact with her directly, an evil clone is created that has the appearance and powers of the duplicated Kryptonian but the personality is fully Evil. Golden Kryptonite: The true origin of Golden Kryptonite is unknown, but its effects are quite dangerous for any Kryptonitan. Golden Kryponite permanently removes any Kryptonian's superpowers if they are exposed for too long. Silver Kryptonite: It affects the mind of Kryptonians causing hallucinations, paranoia, anxiety and in some cases extreme hunger. Orange Kryptonite: your power only affects animals. It can give them superpowers greater than Superman or Krypto. Platinum Kryptonite: Was a variant of Kryptonite which had the effect of permanently bestowing the full range of Kryptonian super-powers to normal humans. Kryptonite Jewel : This version of Kryptonite has very specific effects, as it only takes effect on those trapped and residing in the Phantom Zone. But these effects are not negative, because through this type of Kryptonite they manage to project illusions on different planets and even manage to mentally control other living beings. Pink Kryptonite: It causes a strange transformation in Kryptonians, for example: if a male Kryptonian comes into contact with this Kryptonite, his gender is changed and he becomes female and the same happens with female Kryptonians. White Kryptonite: This version of Kryptonite is completely harmless to both Kryptonians and Earthlings, but it is extremely dangerous to any type of plant or animal.

Think it was cool how quickly Kara picked a side…she wasn’t on earth to experience the villains Supe’s alliance is speaking of…she knows war she knows violence but she hasn’t been invested so it’s easier for her to be black n white with right vs wrong … plus she doesn’t fear her younger cousin like the rest do.

There is a Superman ending for the game so hopefully you all react to it. ^^ I also hope you react to intros/special dialogue and supers for all the characters. Also, like others have mentioned, Superman’s voice in the game is the VA who voiced him for many many years in animated works like Superman The Animated Series which came out alongside Batman The Animated Series. And both lead to the Justice League Animated Series. So he’s a very iconic Superman voice. I don’t know if you’ve seen those cartoons though so that might be why he isn’t for you.

If you read the comics wonderman pretty much did a good amount of evil. Martin manhunter goes to Superman and talks. Superman actually looks like he’s calming down and about to listen to reason only for Diana to just run in and kill him

Would love to see you guys do more videogame cutscene reactions. Been loving these videos you guys have been pumping out 1:10 Yes, it is a comic book name for a current ongoing comic written today by Mark Waid and art by Dan Mora, the comic so far is absolutely phenomenal and such a fun, engaging and beautifully illustrated story revolving around how special Superman and Batman's friendship truly is. The name is also used for an animated DC film set in the DCAU, where we see Batman and Superman team up for the first time against Joker and Lex Luthor

In answer to Jaby's question at the begining of the vid, yes, Batman and Superman had a comic that ran from the 1950's to the 60's or 70's (i believe) and the title of the comic was "The World's Finest", it was a monthly comic where Bats and Supes would team up, fight badguys, have fun and sometimes goofy adventures together with Robin, Krypto, Supergirl and other characters who would guest star!

'The World's Finest' is what DC called Batman-Superman pairing, just like Green Arrow & Black Canary with their 'The Brave & The Bold'. There are versions of World's Finest from another universe too (Elseworlds), such as Supergirl/Batwoman and Power Girl/Huntress.

21:58 The reason the supermove keeps failing to execute is because the opponent’s health is too low and dies on the first essential hit. Whoever this player is, sucks at timing and deprived the new viewers of the supermoves You guys could do a reaction to all of them in a separate video, including the DLC characters

George Newbern, who voices Superman, has been the voice of Superman for over 20 years. He was the voice of Superman in “Superman: The Animated Series” and “Justice League Unlimited.” This was him reprising his role after quite a few years away from the role.

Tim Daly voiced Superman in Superman TAS. He wasn’t available for Justice League so he was replaced with George. Wish people got things right before declaring it as fact.

25:50 - it’s fleshed out more in the Injustice comics, but essentially rather than offer Superman compassion and kind words to comfort him in the wake of his wife’s death, she instead goaded him into becoming increasingly agressive and eventually culminated in him becoming the de facto ruler of earth crushing any and all dissidents under his bootheel, while still believing himself to be the hero with Diana whispering in his ear. It’s explained that Injustice Diana is more war-like than the main universe Wonder Woman. Injustice WW chose violence and anger over peace and love, and in the comics she’s always there over Clark’s shoulder as he makes horrific choice after horrific choice, he’s always reassured by her words that he’s doing the “right” thing even when it’s caused destruction and death.

THANKS for this, CinePals (and those who created this)!!!!! And, yes, Jaby: "World's Finest" had Superman/Batman teamups from 1954 up through the '70s! I understand what you mean by voices, Jaby, since Aquaman was voiced by Phil LaMarr (?), who did Green Lantern on "Justice League/Unlimited."

If the character doesn't have enough health when you do a supermove on them, they just fall down and the move isn't performed. Which is whats happening at the end of a lot these fights.

I'd assume that it takes a long time to make these games and after a while of development the character designs are locked in regardless of what other changes have been made to the characters outside of the project. Aquaman came much later after the movies that established Henry and Margot depictions of their characters. Either way, the game devs went the comic source material route and it pulled it off very well without the need for celebrity likeness.

I would think they make double stories for Injustice 3 due to the endings of Injustice 2. In my opinion Superman's ending would probably be the most interesting story to go by as I suspect the story would revolve around freeing Supergirl and the other heros from Superman's control.

@@CynderSpirit that would be cool! I don’t know which ending is “canon” or if there is even any that is. I’ve followed the first few comics from the first game but now I’m out of the loop. I don’t even know if we will get part 3 anytime soon since Ed Boon seems focused on MK more these past few years. I have been enjoying MK and Injustice story focused games lately, maybe some don’t but I do. Hopefully next one is good!

@@thenorthstarronin Possibly, but that game is already being made. But don't forget not all the heros are under Superman's control, you still have Blue Beetle, Firestorm, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Batgirl, The Atom, Vixen. They can also introduce characters like Black Lightning, Captain Atom, Vigilante, Orion, The Question, Huntress, John Constantine, Red Tornado, Zatanna, Spectre, and Phantom Stranger. They could also reintroduce characters like Martian Manhunter from another universe like they did with Green Arrow. If they go with Superman's ending my guess the story would revolve around the remaining characters trying to stop him and free the others from his control.

@@nelq8186 That's why I said Injustice 3 would have to have two separate stories one with Batman's ending and one with Superman's ending. The player would be able to select the story each time they start the game.

The voice of Superman here is the voice I've heard as Superman for about 30 years now. Anytime I read a Superman comic, this is the voice I hear. Same with Batman.

I wish the movies had a similar level of intriguing stories to their video game counterparts. Both DC and Mortal Kombat. I think the cinematics we see in these games just blows away the visuals and emotional depth compared to the movies.

Love seeing Jaby talk bout DC lore not knowing a fucking thing about it or the powerscale lol its quite entertaining. This game has nothing to do with any of the live action movies, these games were made years before any of them came out. They are based on the comics and the animated movies, which im sure you know by now. Also, Batman has something for everyone in the Justice League, he has contingency plans for everyone.

Not saying Batman is super almighty or anything, but he HAS dealt with a lot of powered villains of his own lol and yeah, Brainiac has been weakened substantially. And every time you question why they even try when someone like Superman, Supergirl, or Wonderwoman got smacked away; they can't just do nothing. That's kind of the whole thing of being a hero. They know the next fight could be their last.

I don't know if you guys are fans of the comics, but the stories in the games are heavily condensed in comparison, it's a fairly lengthy series (both Injustice parts 1 and 2, and a hell of a lot more happens before they reach the ending climax here. It would definitely answer a lot of the questions you have. You should really check it out.

You would hope that something like this would open their eyes to different mediums, specifically the source materials, but even then they just assume the films are a major influence on these games and comics, and not the other way around.

The reason you feel like Superman and Harley were modeled after the actors in the films is because they were cast perfectly to the animated/comic versions that have existed for many years. Where Jason Momoa was cast not to fit the mold but be different for inclusion sake So those of us who grew up with Arthur Curry understand Jason is just a different adaptation, but the game version is our classic Aquaman

Even if the game wasn’t able to use Jason momoa’s look it would be unoriginal and most people would probably not like it for it just trying to be like the movies instead of it’s own thing. If you ask me, aquaman in this game is completely comic accurate. His personality, his look, and caring for atlantis

most people who would probably not stand a chance against people like superman or dr.fate where given a pill in the first game and the comics which basically grants them the strength and durability required to be on level with the heavy hitters and while some fights(like damian vs supergirl) would probably still end how you'd expect it at least makes it possible(somewhat) for the regular person to win also fun fact: at 15:33 you can see that the person playing this actually lost this fight against brainiac because Batman was at his second health bar before the cut away but was at white level after the cut meaning they had to restart the fight since you can't heal or anything
