@@snox90kmthat is true at my home county jail.. there was this younger African American c.o. no older than 25 and he was from the same hood the same city the jail was in... he was cool as could be all his brothers eithier were in prison or currently had been and he just ssaid. He was trying to go a different route and being a c.o. was easy money until he finished community college/found a better GOOD job But he knew he had to keep a clean criminal record to reach those goals. He let us do whatever as long as it wasn't dangerous and would talk to us for hrs. And even knew alot of the same ppl. We did being our age.. 💯 never heard from him after I got released hope he reached his goals successfully!

I grew up outside Philly too! DELCO I went to Chi n Brandywine! Mummers! My great uncle was the chief of police in Chester PA! I love what you do! Ian you rock you should interview my best friend Ian his name is John Ely from South Baltimore!

Great interview.. I went from being offered a job as a PA correction officer to being in jail 3 times… the guards really make all the difference…. There are great ones and super corrupt ones… but that’s exactly the same problem with the state police.. I’m a conservative… wanted to be a police officer… but dealt with, and am still dealing with the absolute trash of law enforcement, and DA. I live in PA, and was in 2 of the prisons mentioned in this podcast.. never had a problem with the guards.. but definitely had a problem with corrupt cops abusing power and ruining lives… jail is absolutely awful, especially when your an addict.. I sat in jail 3 times for months for charges that were completely dropped, I will never get that time back.. in a country of “innocent until proven guilty “ is completely garbage. We have learned this time and time again.. no you guilty, and get to rot until the judge gets to your case… not to mention corruption in the DA’s office knowing what they are doing is wrong, but they would rather you plead down your charges than take it to court, to meet quotas.

I forget which guard said it but he said they should give all prisoners tablets and weed . I know people wouldnt agree but it would occupy their time and make it so much safer for the guards and non violent offenders. Or just dont mix those prisioners in the first place .

SO I WORKED AT SCI chester where this guy who didn’t even make it past his trainee phase worked (which was like 5 months) … it’s a rehab prison, he ain’t never worked at the other state prisons where they are higher level.. of all people yall interview this guy on corrections?????

No you didn’t, or you’d know probation is 18 months fam. Just because, the second “baby jail” of Pa started as a rehab doesn’t mean it stayed that way. Cute tho. Get your facts right.

@@user-ec4ys7ns1r yea after you turn over as a trainee you have 6 more months a total of 18 BUT you have the union backing you for sure which you’ll know it’s impossible to get fired unless you brining in drugs or getting caught up with an inmate or just not showing up to work….. you did not stay that long at chester….. out of all the c.o’s they interviewed you……. 🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧

I work at a jail currently. For the tablets at my facility they get rented for $7.50/month I believe and they can make calls, email, text from their cells and watch movies. Everything they have to pay for is expensive. Emails and texts are monitored. They can rent movies but they only get the movie for 24 hours I believe

In Washington State you can make calls off tablets but it's the same as using the pay phones. It's all through securest so even if they gave cell phones ever it would be through there phone program. Also they gave everyone a tablet for free.

Smart that you didn't but there are alot of guys who would of made them a offer only so many could refuse. They would of became the plug . Lol Edit again , i have never thought of Jesus as the most famous deathrow inmate buthe definitely was . That is a pretty cool way to give certain people a different perspective on his story.

Ian I earned the nickname daredevil because I m 80 percent blind and was 3 and 0 in county and was a trustee I would gladly spare u to prove my claim s or even JD I would rather spare MMA I'm a crappler still traim wrestling and BJJ anymore who works out with me is shocked I'm more physical capable than 96 percent of people despite my sight. I use to work for a one percenter MC as a cook for them I have a amazing testimony of growing up in the d game first od was at 2 I found the pack. But now I share recovery is possible as long as u never give up u want to see a real life superhero holler at me because daredevil has nothing on this whiteboy

I don’t think people should get bashed. You’d have to meet me to know, and if we ever meet in a corrections setting, you might change your preconceived notion. Knocking folks down, who are down, isn’t power. Like stated, lifting folks up, and aiding in the idea of the block life is bs if you want to have a LIFE is more important.
