Innovating Africa Documentary: The Rise of Tech in Nigeria tells the growth story of the tech scene in Nigeria over the last 15 years. Through raw interviews, it paints a vivid picture of the struggles & triumphs of the industry’s early days. You’ll meet passionate founders who took huge risks to push boundaries, investors who backed founders they believed in and see how their determination changed the landscape. Most inspiring are the everyday impact stories - talents whose lives improved because of bold ideas. It’s a reminder that innovation happens through perseverance against all odds.
This film preserves a history that deserves to be remembered. It deserves to be shared to inspire the next generation of African problem solvers.

Love this. I was disappointed when I watched Bloomberg did a documentary on Nigerian tech space and titled it "chaotic" and only talked about physical energy in Nigeria, so so much biases. Its good we tell our own stories by our selves. Keep it up peace. We are behind you.

but these are FOREIGN OWNED institutions that are EXPLOITING the INTELLECTUAL brains of this continent because we ourselves, like GOVT and TERTIARY institutions are NOT USING these BRAINS to DEVELOP products that are NOT OWNED by the COLONIZERS! When they develop PAGA or MPESA as Nigerian or Kenya it MASKS the FACT that these are COLONIZER companies being run by OUR BRIANS!...but these BRAINS will NEVER OWN the PATENT for the PRODUCTS they DEVELOP!...that means only the COLONIZERS are BENEFITING! as they OWN the PATENT in PERPETUAITY benefiting their children but these TECH BRAINS pass on NOTHING to their childrens children...that is a TRAGEDY!!

The Government needs to level up on Tech as they improve electricity generation, They need to build infrastructure for tech too (Servers, data centres, networking infrastructures, operating systems, cloud services, security systems and softwares). Too much money going into the military can be used for this innovations by our military (aside weapons they should be creative). We have not reach there yet, nothing to celebrate. A case study is Nairaland that was banned by a foreign host because we donot have the infrastructure in place. We can control Africa and the world with this infrastructure aforementioned.

Very informative, thankyou. Agree with the black 2 black investments grow for the African ecosystem. It´s often white folks investing and now is time for something new. Also the digital assets regulation for trusting a decent job and the consequences of scaling businesses since no one can look into the future, it´s always based on someone´s motivation, choices and dedication. Goodluck and all the blessings.

Highlight for me is how OO looks up anytime he wants to answer a question, as though seeking inspiration from a power above😂 I first read about OO recently in an article by Fuad Lawal on the backstory of Paystack, and i have to greatly celebrate his dedication and contribution to the growth of this ecosystem over the years, say the ones who with intentionality focused on this ecosystem, there's OO and Bosun. But truth is this is just about now, the big question just as asked in the video is what should we anticipate over the next 10 years? Do we anticipate Facebooks and Ubers from our country that'll go far beyond even African markets to dominate global markets or more press releases on funding milestones? I believe this video helps give a circumspect view of our situation and improves the prospect of our future, great kudos to the great team behind, both the known and the unknown. Great job Peace, your works and your ways always make me aspire to perspire...😁😁🙌🙌
