I think the thing people don’t understand is that it’s just as hard to genuinely be one of the worst players in the world. Because if the bell curve there’s someone out there who is the top guys just like Magnus Carlson who is, due to cheeses popularity now, would be the worst chess player in history. It’s just as hard and just as impressive to watch. The moves make no sense. They see things non of us could ever see. Lines and variations unlike anything. Just that those are fundamentally shit. I’d still pay to watch it tho

This ending is like having a loaded gun, against a naked man 50 feet away from you, and then choosing to take out the bullets of your cartridge. And then, choosing to throw every single bullet at him, throwing the cartridge at him and then, after all that, throwing the gun at him as well whilst waiting for him to shoot you. As a 500 i can confirm, this is how every single game goes here.

Unfortunately its wrong. The number of ways to place 32 distinguishable objects on 64 squares is 64!/32!. Thats about 10^53 and the total number is almost certainly less than that. The number of atoms in 1 gram of something is around 10^23 and there are 10^27 grams in the earth which adds up to about 10^60 atoms in the earth alone. What im guessing he meant is that theres more possible chess games than atoms in the universe which is certainly correct.

Chomping pawns that your opponent serves to you on a platter is more 500-friendly territory than a bishop checkmate.

This is precisely how I would play. You are looking ahead, but when you barely know the rules - like me - you just react to what's happening on the board and thinking maybe one move ahead, if even that.

It is because you probably don't see these things in games. I used to watch my classmate over his shoulder when he played in class and gave him a hint if he could do a fork or something. But if I played against him I would always loose.

@@sietsejohannes i dont believe the endgame frankly. Im 700. Blunders certainly happen. Many and little distance between. But shit like that doesnt happen by accident. I think what happened. Was he pushed the h pawn, lost it. Went oh woops. fuck it heres my pieces

@@sietsejohannes I started 2 weeks ago on an account I dipped elo on a long time ago, pushed from 300s to 600 now and trust me it's not that easy, people around here have no plan or strategy at all and chase checks like animals, sadly striking a forced mate sometimes but usually end up playing their queen 7 moved in a row then resign as they blunder on move 8. 70% Cheaters are extremely common too since the Wired video opened the eyes of many wanabe chess masters, they don't chest every move yet they cheat most of them. Escape the 600s !!!!
@sietsejohannes
@sietsejohannes Жыл бұрын
@@yousofelhalfawy6839 I don't count people who aimlessly chase with their queen among those who remotely understand chess. I still encountered them at the 1000 level, but when you watch a channel like Levy's and follow his advice you should quickly be able to beat them. Around 1200-1300 is when people start playing a little bit more solidly and it becomes more about building experience, learning different openings and finding tactics.
