Spent a week in North Dakota. By far the best hunts i’ve been on.

I’ve never been waterfowl hunting. This will be my first year, I was wade fishing over in south padre and had like a couple hundred red heads fly over me, We have plenty of moltteld ducks, I’m just glad I got into it, something I hope to bring my kids up doing

Season never opened yet for me but I’ve been scouting for the past 3 weeks and found the hole most ducks I’ve seen in my 11 years of duck hunting so excited. It’s gonna be the longest 2 weeks for me.

My black lab female is a nut case just like her. Kaluha is her name. This season Maryland only gives 1 goose a day.

Have only been out twice this year and they were nothing to brag home about.. I had my first son back in August so that has been my priority. Hoping to hit it hard the last month of the season. Love the content good luck this guiding season Bob!

I was hunting South Dakota the same time you was just about 15 miles south of your location. We also had a great hunt doing public land freelance style! Mallards, wigeon, gadwall, pintail, green wing teal, canvas back and snow geese! Great hunts for 8 days

I didn’t take my gun to Alaska, but I did hunt in the gulf all in the salt water. Used my 7 year old browning a5, 2014 model, I didn’t clean it from that until about a month ago. I did that hunt in January. Gun was stored in a salt water soaked gun case until then. It has some rust and still does. I’d suggest getting different oil to use if it’s continuing to rust. Or have the gun refinished because it shouldn’t still be doing that. I gotta grease my choke tube. Just remembered that

I just went one my very first duck/Sandhill crane hunt and it was absolutely awesome 👌

So far my best moment of a hunt was getting a banded Canada Goose from Nunavut Canada. The bird travelled about 730 miles.

I guided for twenty five years. Loved widgeon. They come in hell or high water. Mallards usually came in with them. Hardest part is calling the shot where everyone can get a shot. Later in the afternoon when tornadoes would group up we would let a tornado build so every could see one. Lots of time the longer we let it build the more skittish the group would become. So after we shot into the nado the next two in the dekes we killed, no matter how many might be stacked behind them. Usually we were up against a tune crunch when we had to stop because of legal shooting time ending. Time management!

Spent 5 October days in Alberta with 2 pals. Best morning was 62; 24 ducks, 24 dark geese and 14 snows. 270 in 5 days

Iowa season has not been super great. So many people at all the public land. It sucks not having private land to duck hunt on. 20 boats on the opener this year it was a cluster to say the least.
