Don’t take anything away from the driver of the R32, he is one of the best and talented drivers I’ve race against! That is why I had the confidence to run the outside line beside him. My car is no normal Mx5, I built it with the intention of taking on some serious cars. It is a Gokart on steroids and so much more lighter and nimble than the R32. It is powered by the original Mazda Bp engine, turbocharged on e85 fuel. Thanks to everyone for the positive comments👍 it means a lot! Cheers

So happy to hear it's running original engine, must be a lot more satisfying to build up the original engine rather than source and try and fit a different engine, with all the associated fabrications that come with engine swaps. Great driving!!!

I think it's a culture thing most Americans think fast in a straight line = fast car good race. All the time I tell "car guys" that I own a TT supra, awd bmw, 3000gt but i only race my JRSC d16 civic. They become the most bewildered and ask "why do you race your slowest car?" never mind that my civic can get through the tail of the dragon a full min faster than all the other cars I own.

Mine was a 1.8 turbo too, but that was 18 years ago. 180rwkw in one of those things is insane. Miss it so much. The driver of the mx5 showed how much potential is really in those cars good on him, very well done. Great to see the advan r32 still chopping laps even after a decade on from Mark Berry's days.
