Inside The $5 Million Embraer Phenom 100EX Private Jet
0:00 - Intro
This is the Embraer Phenom 100EX, the entry-level light business jet that incorporates a revamped interior, increased cabin space, and tech upgrades. Here is everything you need to know about the Embraer Phenom 100EX.
0:59 - Cabin
Stepping inside, Embraer redesigned the interior of its Phenom 100 business jet range, shedding 190 pounds or 85 kilograms of weight while increasing cabin space. Utilizing Embraer’s Design DNA and more sustainable materials, the new jet promises to deliver superior cabin comfort. The light twinjet includes upper tech panels, wider seats, and flush-to-the-wall tables. It also makes standard the previously optional side-facing fifth seat and a belted lavatory. The jet seats up to 5 passengers as standard, but can be configured to seat a maximum of 7.
Customers can also choose from 4 interior color schemes, navy blue, gray, tan, and black, and 3 new seat styles, providing 24 different interior combinations. The interior also makes more use of leather and eco-friendly Ultra Leather and fewer veneers to maximize durability and maintainability.
Concurrent with the upper tech panel, which has flat gasper air vents, there is an additional 1 inch or 2.5 centimeters of headroom than in previous Phenom 100 models.
Embraer also states the 100EX will offer several best-in-class features, including the most complete airstair, the largest entrance door, the most spacious baggage compartment, and tallest and widest cabin cross-section. And finally, the aircraft also features a 70-cubic-foot or 2,000-liter baggage compartment.
3:26 - Cockpit
Now, let’s step into the cockpit. Embraer improved the cockpit by paring down the divider behind the pilot’s seat. The 100EX is a single-pilot aircraft, and its revamped flight deck features increased pilot legroom provided by extended seat tracking, and an open-concept interior designed for easier communication between pilot and passengers.
The aircraft includes enhanced pilot-centric avionics as part of the Prodigy Touch, based on the Garmin 3000. The plane's pilot-centric 'Prodigy Touch' avionics suite will notably include a Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System or ROAAS.
This Garmin G3000-based installation comes with bright, high-resolution 14-inch display screens. Each can be split into 2 view setups allowing a total of 6 different screen views. Also included are dual touch screen controllers that operate with the panel mount displays and provide their own functionalities.
Also, Flight Stream 510 on board the Phenom 100EX allows the pilot to connect their portable devices to the aircraft.
With the 100EX you get an improved brake control unit and the 9th software iteration of the brake-by-wire system.
The 100EX's multi-function spoilers also have helped the aircraft slow down more elegantly both in the air and on the ground.
6:26 - Engine, Performance Specs, and Flying Experience
Now, let’s talk about the engine, performance specifications, and how it flies. The Phenom 100EX is powered by 2 Pratt and Whitney Canda PW617F1-E engines with a TBO of 3,500 hours, each producing 1,730 pounds of thrust. The aircraft requires 3,190 feet or 972 meters of runway to take off at sea level on a standard day.
The engines allow a maximum rate of climb per minute of 3,060 feet or 930 meters, and a maximum cruising altitude of 41,000 feet or 12,500 meters. The plane has a maximum speed of Mach 0.70, and a maximum cruise speed of 406 knots, with an average hourly fuel burn of 80 gallons or 300 liters.
The jet has a maximum range of 1,180 nautical miles, which is 1,350 miles or 2,180 kilometers, and a minimum landing distance of 2,430 feet or 749 meters, with a maximum net payload of 1,775 pounds or 805 kilograms and a full-fuel payload of 645 pounds or 292 kilograms.
The Phenom 100EX is certified by aviation authorities in Brazil, Europe, and the United States.
7:53 - Purchase and Charter Price
