WoW better insulate those 2 broiler tanks with some fiberglass insulation wrap like they do with their newer made exact ones! Otherwise it's costing electricity and making staff hot and wearing out the heating elements and related. Also since many find reduced maintenance by keeping the machines turned on 24/7 in a high use establishment. Great video, thanks for caring and sharing! I'm making labels for all the components to help anyone looking inside! Take care

why would the brew valve open during a reheat? Valve seat wear?

Hi there, very helpful videos! Thanx! I Haven wieściom about my 10yo Linea Classic 3AV with No PID. How do I control brew temp?
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork Жыл бұрын
There is a set screw that adjusts the pivot point of the switch height from the plunger on thermostat well. Turn off the machine when you adjust. 1/16 to 1/8 of a turn.

@@EspressoServiceNetwork thank you, found it:) and sadly I might have an issue with thermostat. I have a feeling that water coming out of brew groups is almost boiling. I wonder if this is the thermostat which failed does it make sense to fix it or should I just go straight for PID kit…

Move to a PID, definitely.

Hi Sir, if brew pressure drop to 3bar on idle is that mean expansion valve is faulty? Tq in advance
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork 2 жыл бұрын
You will only see the pressure gauge rise when the machine is reheating. If it is not reheating the pressure can drop all the way down to what your building pressure is. if there is a problem with the check valve it will not show the rise of pressure (expansion) and thus it's very hard to set your expansion valve at pressure If you just did a brew, it might not be reheating which means nothing is expanding. If you have a mechanical thermostat, it often takes up to 10 brews before it will start reheating? I hope that helps. If I can clarify something let me know.

During normal use how audible should the boiler contactor clicking on and off be? Ours is definitely present in the room, like placing a hard object on marble. Wondering if that’s normal or if I should have a spare on the shelf if it fails. 12 yo machine

The contractors are loud when they close. If the contractors have not been changed, it might be time to change them. Depending on use, change them every other year or max life 4 years.Hope that helps.

Hello, I am a refrigeration technician in Alabama. I’m curious what the certification is for espresso machines. When I call schaerer they say I need to be certified to even get tech support. Do you happen to know where I can get certified?
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork 18 күн бұрын
Good morning! There are no certification requirements to be a commercial espresso service technician except for the normal state and regional licensing. Each individual manufacturers requires you to be certified with their equipment in order to purchase OEM parts , receive trouble shooting assistance and offer new equipment to your customers. Some ask that you pay for the training and you will most likely need to travel to their location. Please feel free to reach out to our office if we can answer any additional questions. We are here assist you in any way we can. Ruth

Thanks for the Video.. At 8: 22 CAN you please explain more about safety switch ? Which is then connected to heating element.. In my Gb5 machine I found that sometimes the heating element stopped working and there is no steam pressure..
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork Жыл бұрын
If the safety switch is connected to the heating element via the power wires, which is the case in newer machines, anytime there is not a good terminal connection the safety switch will build up heat inside itself and trip. Let me know if this helps.
@sanandre3091
@sanandre3091 Жыл бұрын
@@EspressoServiceNetwork That means it's not a issue if he switch get tripped. We don't need to check machine for any abnormalities..right? We can reset the switch and start using the machine .. Am I correct?
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork Жыл бұрын
It is an issue if your switch trips. This can lead to additional problems. You need to verify that there is a good connection. If there is not a good connection change the terminals and wires if needed. If your connection is good you may have a boiler fill issue or an overheating issue.
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can reset the switch and begin using the machine but you still need to search for the cause. Safety devices trip for a reason. Don't ignore it.

@EspressoServiceNetwork 10 күн бұрын
It depends on the button. If it is a pad or a high voltage button, then you need a tech. Other than that, try cleaning it with a cloth.

ever have pump issues? for example a bad pump start capacitor ? Our Linea trips breaker during a rush
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork Жыл бұрын
The breaker could be caused by a few things. Are you using a GFCI circuit breaker?.Pump capacitors will weaken or go bad over time but they do not typically trip a breaker. They will however blow a fuse on your main board if you are operating a volumetric dosing Linea.
@adamn480
@adamn480 Жыл бұрын
@@EspressoServiceNetwork yes it’s on a GFCI. It did go off couple months back when we steamed too much and some of the internals wires looked wet but this time it keeps tripping the breaker, but nothing is wet.

Is there a way to have preinfusion on this machine?
@EspressoServiceNetwork
@EspressoServiceNetwork Жыл бұрын
The machine in the video is a semi-automatic so pre-nfusion is manual. The, AV, volumetric dosing model has a one second on/one second off that can be enabled or disabled.

Great Help, Thank you. But some of your advice for old machines: 1. It does seem your advice to replace the Older Steam Broiler pressure(temp) controller when it goes out, with the $600+ PID controller kit is poor advice. Simply because it appears the company which makes the old style Sirai Pressurestat switch (P302?), still makes them for $100 new. Plus the pressurestat contains the electric contacts which turn on and off the heating element. So when you replace it, you are getting all new, unlike the PID which uses 2 expensive components which both wear out, to do the same thing. Plus even though the Brewing thermostat # L260 might no longer be available, its micro switch # 11981.10 (Cutler-Hammer# E47CMS01 20amp!) which is what wears out, is for cheap. 2. Replacing the entire older 2 part brewer tank w/bolt on brewer heads for a newer tank with welded on heads... that's $$$$.$$ of dollars... I would think if a weak threads break/over tightened, new threads can easily enough be welded onto the old tank. I see a new gasket can be had for $7 plus shipping from a few sites. Take care.

As a professional technician equipment owners are typically seeking improved performance. In the case of with upgrading to a PID, improved performance and less maintenance. Welding is not that simple or easy. Again, most equipment owners are seeking resolutions that are quick and efficient. IOf course, you can try all the things suggested but the potential for a poor outcome is not a gamble most business owners want to take.

@@EspressoServiceNetwork thank you for the reply. I'm not sure the PID is necessarily more reliable. Both systems rely on contacts which suffer high voltage arcing damage over time, each time the heating elements turn on and off, breaking the electrical flow. Yet the contacts in the mechanical are much cheaper to replace the unit. As far as the temp swings of the mechanical, when they were the latest, they were touted to be more reliable than the 10 deg you say you have witnessed and our customers and staff are happy with the accuracy of the mechanical. Some of us restaurants have tight budgets and have to do some repairs ourselves. Not to fear, there are more than plenty of work needed from the professionals, especially honest and caring ones like yourself. Take care

@EspressoServiceNetwork 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! The PID system uses a solid state relay. They can break but there are no contacts or wear n tear parts. If cost is an issue and temp fluctuation is not a concern then stick with the switch. Be careful not to lose the spring (its easy to do) or the c-clips and know that overtime the thermostat gets more and more out of range.
