Ernie Johnson has been with Turner media since the beginning. Maybe ESPN can borrow the show, but Ernie ain't going anywhere. Ted Turner grew up in Macon, Georgia. He started Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta. He owned the Braves for a very long time.. Ernie Johnson Jr. is a University of Georgia graduate. He also briefly played baseball for the Bulldogs. Ernie Johnson's father was the longtime voice of the Atlanta Braves. Ernie Johnson Jr. worked at a local tv station in Macon before he worked for Ted Turner at WSB in Atlanta and ultimately worked for Ted Turner at TNT. Ted Turner owned the Braves until 2007. Ernie Johnson Sr. was the voice of the Braves until 1999. He won a World Series with the Milwaukee Braves in 1957. Ernie Jr. played baseball at and graduated from the University of Georgia, and he got his start in TV in Macon, Georgia. Eventually Ernie Jr. would work for WSB in Atlanta which was started and owned by Ted Turner. Turner started TNT in 1988, and in 1989 Ernie Jr. moved from Turner owned WSB in Atlanta to work for Turner Sports at Ted Turner's startup channel TNT. Ernie Jr. also called games for Ted Turner's Braves in the mid 90s alongside Ernie Sr. Ernie Johnson Jr. aint never leaving TNT.

There is a precedent for a beloved show moving in it's entirety from one network to another... It happened when Lettermen's show moved seamlessly from NBC to CBS in 1993.

Ernie, Chuck, Kenny, and Shaq are the face and all four of them are necessary, but lets not forget the crew! PMS wouldn't be PMS without Foxy, Zito, Nick, Gump, Brucey Blue Jeans, Mitt, Tok, Gurdy, and The Ghoul. So much of what makes Inside special are the folks behind the scenes. Idgaf about TNT, but I do care about the crew. It would be absolutely insane if nobody did the right thing here and made this work.

When they paid Chuck a new 10 year deal (like a year or two ago) I had assumed they already had figured in the possibility (or inevitability) of the network or mode of broadcast changing, so the franchise itself would then be licensed / sold / moved with Barkley transferring with it

Why can't they just still do the show on TNT? People would still tune in over there after the game is done, I can guarantee it. All TNT would have to do is pay a licensing fee to whoever had the game for the highlights.

If the deal is sweet enough, Inside the NBA will stay in Atlanta. If ESPN gets them, they'll have a studio ready to go in Atlanta. Reason being Ernie has a long history in the area. The other three will be there too. The show has enough clout where they can get it.

All good things come to an end eventually. Just like basketball players can’t play ball in the league forever, sports shows don’t last forever. Inside the NBA is iconic and already has legendary status. No other basketball show even come close probably the best sports show period. They had a good run, one that can’t be replicated ever. It’s possible they could try to continue on another network, ESPN being the front runner. I don’t think they can keep all of their hosts or even their off camera crew if they move to another network. It’s actually better they end it now than try to make something that isn’t the same and not as good.

Why is this even a discussion???? Keep Stephen A. And First Take, but fire that team from covering Live NBA games. I like Big Perk, but the Inside guys have decades of experience. I was watching over an hours worth of Shaqtin' a fool just the other day. No hate on the ESPN NBA crew, but the Inside guys are just on another level comparatively.

These aren't young guys starving for money. They do the show because they want to. I think for them it's all about watching a few games with your friends every week and getting paid for it.
