2:15 this is certainly NOT a repair my Direct Energy Deposition as you call it. These mechanics are performing an automatic ultrasonic inspection of the composite wing skins to assess structural health. Water is used as a couplant for the sound waves. In this blind configuration, echoes reflected back to the transducer indicate the potential presence of damage such as delamination. Repairs on composite structures are performed by removing the damaged section with abrasives (usually manually, but machines are being developped) and then laminating reinforcements to restore the strength.

Hot refueling is used to also save on the engine stop start cycles. Only so many times they are allowed before overhaul no matter the time they run..

The RQ-4 came to Japan to work for us, but I was just surprised at the high cost of operation. After watching this video, I now understand why maintenance costs are so high and why operational costs are so high.

As a result of operation in Korea, it was decided to cancel the introduction of additional RQ-4 and deploy domestic high-altitude UAV. The performance of the SAR sensor is very good and it is the only UAV in the world that can safely search and reconnoiter the entire area of North Korea from the rear, but the operating and maintenance costs are very high. It was expensive, difficult to supply parts, and frequent errors made it very difficult for the Korean Air Force to maintain it. Additionally, because it is an advanced U.S. reconnaissance asset, there are many restrictions on the information Korea acquires. The cost of operating equipment to decipher information is also very expensive. Therefore, the Korean Air Force will split the RQ-4 mission with domestically produced UAVs from 2024. The development of the domestic UAV, which had been under development since 2005, was halted due to the introduction of the RQ-4, but has been developed again since 2018.

LOL, just for clarification the external fuel tanks on an F22 increases its cross section and those marines in the Osprey are descending (going down) not ascending (going up).

Comparing the RQ-4 to Shahed. They are so much more technology advanced compared to the Americans. They use toy motors, also it's much smaller and is being built secretly in another country who is in a civil war! We have much to learn from them.... /s

they have a mounted unside down 3d printer painting on a milimeter of stealth light absorbing material across the wing, then they have a lazer on the same mount shaving down the material to tolerances, theres no militia or will of the people fighting that......
